I first knew of Suburban Commando from the opening previews of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze on VHS (which also had the line "I WAS FROZEN TODAY!"), and I watched it from the video store years later because of it.
I actually met Christopher Lloyd and got him to say "I was frozen today" at a signing. If you want to know what made that signing double awesome was that George Takei was there too. I got him to say "Oh Myy!" as well as sign it. The most stupidly awesome autographs EVER!!!
Morbius Fitzgerald I didn't ask him to say it when I got my picture taken with him, too many cameras and people asking us to hurry up, not a signing, just a picture with him in front of the delorean but yknow... Its still AWESOME!
I can only imagine with constant asks for Back to the Future lines or "do you remembers" that short smile he had when he said, "yeah..." was a breath of fresh air.
If I ever would meet Christopher Lloyd (who was my favorite actor when I was a little kid), I would ask him to say "SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST, LEONAAAAAARD!" ... If I didn't think that would give the poor guy Foodfight!-Induced PTSD.
Lea Thompson is judging the Nostalgia Critic for him filming Christopher Lloyd. Meanwhile the rest of us will forever judge her for Howard the Duck. That is all.
+Ricardo Parente (Songue) We can't blame her for that movie. It was after all a movie by George Lucas whom in that same decade had finished the last 2 star wars movies and the first 2 indiana jones movies. If you are an up and coming actress and you are given a chance to participate in a George Lucas movie in the 80's; who can blame you for accepting a role in that movie, even if the premises in it sounds stupid? ;)
I love how utterly surprised and cheerful Lloyd looks throughout all this Like - oh! These people came to see me? That's so nice! What movie? Oh that movie! Oh yes I was covered in... and carried... yes... yes! By um... oh... what was his name? lol Christopher Lloyd is just so much fun :)
And now we go to see Nostalgia Critic at conventions. Seriously, I actually met Doug at Zenkaikon 2015 in Lancaster. Probably one of the coolest dudes I've ever had the pleasure to meet in my life
Update 2022: I got to meet him this year at SiliCon in San Jose. I got an autograph for myself as well as one for my grandma who lost her original one two years after she met him after a bar and restaurant she and my grandpa had owned at the time caught on fire from a cigarette that was very stupidly thrown out in a garbage can.
Actually Elizabeth Shue was the girlfriend in the second movie. That's why they had to reshoot the ending of the first movie and edit it into the second one
The original actress was Claudia Wells, but she didn't come back for II and III because she had to take care of her ailing mother. She would later voice Jennifer again in Back to the Future: The Game.
I got to meet Chris in 2010 at a Dallas convention, shortly before the Blu-Rays came out. hard to believe its been almost four years; I'm hoping he shows up for the 30th Anniversary event in CA next year.
Lea Thompson was possibly upset if she already knew the rule about NOT FILMING obviously. As her eye line looks to be over NC's shoulder and looking at the camera not NC directly. To her maybe she's very angry cos she feels NC took advantage of the no filming during a signing rule and Christopher Lloyd was completely unawares of NC breaking the rules etc. I figured this was pretty obvious from how she was looking over Nostalgia Critic's right shoulder to the camera and saw what was going on.
Betty Brant: Blood pressure, Mr. Jameson! Your wife told me to tell you to watch the anger! J. Jonah Jameson: YOU TELL MY WIFE... 5:54 Wouldn't Christopher Lloyd have been a good choice for Jameson if the Raimi Spider-Man movies were made in the '80s?
For stars of they don't wanna say a line I understand. I mean i'm sure many have asked him to say a line. When I met some celebrities away comic con I stayed calm (even when I met David Ankrum who plays wedge which who I was named after hence the channel name) I just had a nice conversation with him and asked fir some advice on stuff and he had a great attitude about it. At the end of the day they're still people. You can freak out about meeting them but sometimes it's best just to keep it down and just ask how their day is going.
Congrats on that...I'm hoping to at least get a pic with him at Monster Mania this weekend. Someone said he didn't do pics at the one in NY but I hope that won't be true. If not I'd be happy to sneak some vid and get an autograph;
When I met him back at the a Trek con in 2010 I asked him abit about Taxi in the bit where Jim was being nostalgic about Star Trek if he ever thought a Trek would ever get this big today. Surprisingly he answered no, he wasn't a fan of the show in reality. Still got to meet Jim from Taxi!
Nah, it just isn’t possible. 800 people all there to meet him, all wanting autographs, all with their own specific line request or whatever, and he’s an older gent now too 😅 It’d be exhausting! Also, he may not fully remember how he said the line/be aware of the meme.
He gave the line without hesitation. He looks like a pretty nice dude.

Lex Winters Bill Murray? Loving his fans? I’m not so sure about that.
Christopher Lloyd was probably thinking, "What kind of idiot remembers Suburban Commando?"
I could actually here him say that in his voice
I first knew of Suburban Commando from the opening previews of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze on VHS (which also had the line "I WAS FROZEN TODAY!"), and I watched it from the video store years later because of it.
I Can Live Forever Nostalgia Critic, because... he remembers it, so you don't you have to.
I owned that movie and I didn't know about that.
I Can Live Forever LOL

Morbius Fitzgerald That's super cool :-D
Did he say it the same way he did in this video?
Morbius Fitzgerald I didn't ask him to say it when I got my picture taken with him, too many cameras and people asking us to hurry up, not a signing, just a picture with him in front of the delorean but yknow... Its still AWESOME!

Expectation: "I WAS FROZEN TODAY!"
Reality: "I was frozen today... ?"
Well he Got him to say it, didn't matter how he said it
Christopher Lloyd is awesome.
Everybody will know him as doc from back to the future but people will also know him from the horrendous film foodfight!
@Hunter the Hunter He can't express what he thinks?
Never thought I'd see Critic fanboy like this. Damn.

Elizabeth Shue was in the 2 sequels to Back to the Future as Jennifer.
But in the original movie it was Claudia Wells.
I never got to meet Christopher Lloyd, but my grandma did when they were filming Back To The Future Part 3 in her area.
quiktymevideo that' pretty awesome

I could totally see Christopher Lloyd playing Dr. Wily in a live-action Mega Man movie.
If not Christopher Lloyd, I have two more candidates; Jack Nicholson and Jim Carrey
Doug's fan-boying warms my heart. XD
I take it he is a big Christopher Lloyd fan
Yep, but out of all the Christophers, his favourite is Walken
Eccleston and Evans also come to my mind.
Who ISN'T a fan of that sexy beast? ;)

5:55 honey, our crazy neighbor is at it again.
One of the best days of my life is having my picture with Christopher Lloyd and the Delorean.

Holy shit it was Elizabeth Shue but in the II and III one only.
The original actress was Claudia Wells, but she didn't come back for II and III because she had to take care of her ailing mother. She would later voice Jennifer again in Back to the Future: The Game.
***** Yes and they had to reshoot the scenes Wells was in with Shue.
Cam Wrecker I don't recall that. I own the original film and Wells was in them.
***** They quite possibly did that for later releases.
***** I think Cam's referring to the beginning of "Part II" being a reshoot of the ending from "Part 1", where Jennifer visits Marty by the garage.
if i was there i would have hugged doug he is so cool
5:58 When you finally get to graduate from school.
No, Elizabeth Shue was not in the original BTTF. When they redid the ending to make the second movie she was added in.
christopher lloyd is fucking epic.
That guys is legendary....he's gonna be missed once he passes.
5:54 he looks like he is proud of you that you did it lollll
Ahhh he said it all flat.. Oh well... Doug kinda didn't let him finish when he was telling him about what he had to go through in that scene.
This actually made me laugh out loud, like, I was full on belly laughing! Thank you!!
Man, Lea Thompson looks so pissed in the background.
"I have a new experiment in bad taste!"
Pretty much how to sum up the best of Doug's humour.
It just dawned on me the he was at Hollywood blvd theater, I go there all the time for the rocky horror picture show haha
i've been there a few times as well. they actually serve you beer and food while you watch the movie.

I think getting Christopher Lloyd to say "I was frozen today" is NC's biggest accomplishment ever.

These are the special scenes from the DVD release aren't they? I feel bad watching them. I didn't buy the DVD. ...
