What a breath of fresh air your tututorial is. This is the first decent tutorial I have seen on Pages, it's actually a decent program once you have a walk-through. Free open source word processors are ok, but on macOS, this was there all the time.
Good tutorial. But learning Pages feels like learning how to fly a Boeing 747 that is carrying a space shuttle in a thunderstorm with no gps so that I can visit my neighbor next door. 99.99 % of the features of Pages I will never use, Is there a basic simple word processor available for the IPAD?
I’m so glad I switched to apple now instead of just doing things on an android I get to spend hours trying to figure out how to do the simplest things.

But Pages only allows me to select the top layer. How can I select objects or text that are in the back? Do you have a video on this?

How do I get the toolbars you have. My Pages on my iPad has practically nothing... I can bold and italicize and color a word going deep into many menus but otherwise I've got no way to do just basic tasks within the page. How do I get these complex, complete toolbars... there is NO menu on my page that takes me anywhere to get all those options. It's mainly just a blank page with not much on it to help. Thanks

I came to learn how to add the introductory un-numbered thesis pages to my several-hundred-page long thesis document -- title page, dedication page, etc. -- and have those added automatically to the Table of Contents, which I did figure out how to do myself and which is amazing. There was no help for answering my question on this video.

A "Perform Find" (Command-F) can be used to find all double spaces. The Replace feature can then be used to replace one or all of them in the document at once. 😉

On Mac, Pages has some fatal bugs that were absurd. Put images in the the document and press the space a few times from the top, then the images are combined. No matter how many times I ask the developers of Apple service center, they don't know how to fix it and they say it's like a bug.
How come there hasn't been any tutorials on the iBook Author changing to Pages?... This new setup is amazing, Better than iBooks Author yet nothing is out there to cover it??? Strange
When I try to "Find" a word in a document, Pages will tell me how many times the word is in the document but when I try to advance to "Next" or "Previous" it will not advance. Does that make sense and can anyone help ?
Is there a way to get rid of page break lines? I use large font and page breaks seem to come CONSTANTLY. Also........I think I know the answer......but the blinking test cursor (not the mouse cursor) is too small. Can you change that? I think no because Mac OS accessibility doesn't have this feature--like Windows does.

I just want a decent word processor program that gets updated that Im not tied to a subscription. Didnt know Apple made their own like version of Office. (I have both PC and Macs at home. Im getting another Mac for sure now, for my kids to use for school)

Do you have a "how to type?" video on pages... Any shortcuts carried from Word... ? Can't do any scroll down-up, control-c. control-p... nothing! Annoys me... always have to move to the mouse and right click for options. Absolutely cuts down the speed of typing.
how do I remove dashes like this: - a;ldskjfalsdjf;lak - adskljfa;skldjfas I every time I try to it removes the whole paragraph and I cannot highlight only the dash, and I cannot copy and paste the text only the dashes comes along for the ride. I hate pages at the moment.

Perhaps the Notes app would be useful to you ? It has only basic formatting tools.

Pilcrow (not pilgrow) character at 2:17 = ¶ (paragraph sign). Like the ampersand, a symbol people learn to use before they learn its name.
