  • In todays video, I went to Lake Burrumbeet in Ballarat, Victoria to do some bait fishing and caught 2 Carp and a big wild Rainbow Trout. I fished with corn and worms, but the worms did the damage. I hope you all enjoyed the video, thanks for watching.

Used to fish the western side back in 71, 72. Place was full of redfin, not a carp anywhere to be seen. Looks like the place has gone to shit. What a same.

Great job, Cooper. Enjoyed watching your video. I don't think I will be fishing for a few days with all the rivers flooding at the moment. Kind regards MP.

Thanks Michael! Yeah, I’ve heard about all the rivers flooding, which is unfortunate. It also means my Murray Cod trip in now cancelled! Thanks for watching👍👍

Just a tip on netting, get the fish in a bit closer and swim it into the net and lift. Don't try and chase with the net. You can lose a lot of fish that way as they spook. You had a nice landing spot there, but in other places it matters. Patience is everything. Just swim the fish and tire it until you can guide it into the stationary net.

Yeah thanks mate,I hadn’t caught a fish in a month and a half and I basically got do exited everything just got thrown away haha. I never really use a net, only my third or fourth time using it apart form off the boat. Thanks for the tips!

One more, try and get the head into the bottom of the net. I lost a really nice cod a while back when it slithered out as I was lifting the net and carp are really damned good at it. . I never use them much myself, it is a running joke on my channel, but on a high bank they can be a life saver. Head first into the net is important. @@coopersfishingadventures

Nice Rainbow you caught. They say there is a pot of gold at the foot of the rainbow, but that one did not look to have any feet.. Cheating! Oh well, I guess you had a pot of gold for bait ;)
