- Tatale is Ghana's spiced plantain pancakes. It is made with overripe plantains...plantain is one produce item that you never say never to in Ghana. Never throw away ripe plantains in a Ghanaian's home...no matter how overly ripe😄 For your tatale to be perfct you want it to be very overipe and of course that means your pancakes are sure to be sweet. The spice added gives a perfect balance of sweet and spicy. It is served with Bambara beans and you need to try it to understand.
Ingredients:
5 overripe plantains
1 medium red onion
about 10 pkakpo shito (any host pepper to your taste)
45g ginger root
1/3 cup all purpose flour
palm oil for frying (about a 3 tablespoons)
salt to taste - Хобби

I do have some ripen plaintains and i was slacking on making it but after watching g your video with him, he wants me to make it. lo. Guess my next video will be in honor of you. Your kitchen is always nice and clean. Love the camera you ae using. That bambara beans was everything. I dont remember the last time i had some, been such a long time.
Hahaha. I hope made it oo. I don't blame him at all. It is so good. Yes, It will be great to watch you make it. Lets make our Ghanaian food popular 1 video at a time❤❤. It is great with black eyed peas too in case you can't find bambara beans.
How do I partake in this live in US.
I made this with blended oats instead of corn flour because i was on a diet and it came out great. Also I fried with vegetable oil instead of palm oil.
Just perfect. Kudos💕💕

Interesting, I’ve never fry mine with palm oil before, I will give it a try, and Bambara beans are my favorite. 😋
See oo. And I've almost always used palm oil for mine. I love Bambara beans except the cooking process😄😄
What is the English name of the beans?
Obaapa Renie I think it’s just Bambara beans. That’s the label that I’ve seen on them whenever I buy them in the store

You're the best . Cote d'ivoire and Ghana are the same people, I laughed when you said karago.
Thank you! See how I was struggling ro say it 😀😀😀
I am addicted to you channel, it is helpful for us who live abroad. We are so busy and sometimes we short of ideas. "What to cook" ?
I totally get you on that. I say tge same always. Sometimes you just need to see the food to remember that you haven't made that in a long time. I found myself an Ivorian sister not so long ago. She's been more than an angel 🙏🏾❤
@@KwankyewaasKitchen Good for you girls!
I am from Senegal married to an ivorian for more than 30 years . Cooking is my hobby.

Is flour optional?
The floor binds it
Klaklo is Ivorian 🇨🇮🇨🇮🇨🇮
Sis. Kwankyewaa please can I use kokonte instead of the flour?
Yes dear. It will be perfect. Some sellers use that bu the way
Can you use corn dough
Yes dear
But don’t use too much of a fermented dough wai
No we don't add sugar and in the olden days there's no brown sugar.
You are very sweet
Finger Licking😍😍😋😋
Very much so☺

Is flour optional?
It helps the pancake hold up. You may omit it or use another kind of flour prefereable... I am guessing you are looking for a gluten free option.
