I was thinking the same thing! And it's really interesting that when she uses the colored markers to frame the words she holds them the normal way. That aside, it's neat to see how you can do this with plain paper and some pens (and your own style oof holding them!)
As a newbie, this is THE most helpful video I've EVER seen on verse mapping... and I've seen more than I can count! Firstly, just using plain lined paper, a regular pen, and a few pretty highlighters is AMAZING & HELPFUL... I don't need expensive anything, just paper and The Lord's word!! That's super encouraging for a newbie!! 2ndly, hints and explanations are SO much better than hard and fast rules, mandatory calligraphy, and verses that MUST be done 1st... I'm just so thankful for this... ❤

Had to laugh. I go nowhere without colored pens and a book. Thank goodness for backpacks! Everywhere I go, I find myself with ten-minute gaps in my schedule where I can read a waiting-room magazine, or cool my heels in a nearby Starbucks. Your tool kit (and mine) are a perfect way to make good use of otherwise lost time.

I’ve been doing this for years and went to Bible school for 4 years. It definitely takes time and practice to learn how to do this. But the process of learning is fun :) I was NOT good at this right away.

I used to tuck my thumb in when I held my pencil-it just seemed most natural and comfortable-and people would tease me about. I’ve never seen anyone write like this, though, lol. It’s certainly interesting 😄

Yes it is a lot to do. It is a more in-depth type of method! You do not have to do this every time you study the Bible!
