A real shame that they've ditched the rear window opening. Also the boot space is the same as the M3 which is unacceptable - it should be 600 litres at least. The drive train is epic though.
You can say what you want but I'm just glad it exists. Yes, it's heavy, the front isn't exactly pretty but it's not another M version of an SUV. It's fast estate car and you just have to appreciate it.
It may as well be an SUV at this point with the size and weight of it. Literally the only thing it has going for it against an X5 is a lower centre of gravity (and you'd look marginally less of a bell end driving it)
The thing I love about the RS6 is the massive wheel arches, it’s like a monster on its haunches. Harder to tell in this video and the lighting, but the M5 could do with a bit of a shoulder workout.

100% agree, I thought exactly the same. Had M cars for the last 20 years (currently own G80 M3, had M5 F90 prior) and I have to say the M5 touring is so disappointing, where are the flared rear arches this car needed BMW ???

It looks fat. The front end is hideous. I can’t grasp the recent bmw design language. Compare this design to the rs6 and panamerra and it’s night and day. It’s absolutely hideous. The m3 touring is a far more poised design.
Just doesn't look like an M car, doesn't even look like an M lite. Just looks like an electric car, I don't think this will sell well at all because they're not appealing to the target market. I get it though, they are easing us into having fully electric M cars.
My wishlist: edit down the exterior a little more, come up with a way to integrate the screens into the dash, bring back a gear lever an physical climate controls.
It will be interesting to see where they position the next Alpina B5 given I assume they will keep them as a low volume OEM. Maybe take the battery out, trick suspension and comfort seats in some very expensive leather perhaps
Wasn’t the biggest fan of the new 5 series on photos and videos. Finally seen one in person and it looked very good and aggressive. Can’t wait to see the m5 in person
To me, it looks vile at first glance, but you just know it will drive fantastic regardless of it's weight, and those looks will grow on me for sure when I see one on the road, as it will have massive presence. I do understand the hate at first glance though. I felt the same about the new M2, but having seen how aggressive and threatening they look on the road, I now love the thing.
I have alot of respect for the M5, and I’m sure this new car is a beast on the road, but I’ll take my RS6 performance with its old school, non-hybrid drivetrain all day long. Audi just does the complete package wagon better than their rivals and the 2024 RS6 performance is an almost perfect car.
Whatever we think about the styling or weight or ‘at £113k I won’t be buying one’, when you first see one of these monsters on the road, admiration will prevail 👀

Any fast estate is a win in my book. Enjoy it while it lasts, I'm willing to bet easy access high powered cars days are numbered in Europe and the UK. GPS speed limiters are coming and the need for racing driving licenses and racing team insurance costs for anything over 200bhp are less than 10 years away
Rear looks awesome - both regular and M5 sedan rear is ugly. But it just works on the Touring. Finally coming here to the US. It’s heavy no doubt. But the g90 m5 is faster than the f90 in real world acceleration tests and faster than the f90 m5 cs in rolling acceleration tests. The actual tested data is 3.0 0-100 km/hr and 7.0 100-200 kmh.

The electric motor is in the diff. As in one unit. That is why there is no delay in anything anywhere. You press the pedal and it goes.
The BMW M engineer in Germany told us it's in the gearbox.
