Woohoo ! That´s some proper good stuff you´ve hauled out of there Jake ! Not even ten minutes into the video and the first one starts straight up too, and the next one etc. Them 16 v´s were nice as well. Wish I had been there to assist mate. It´s the stuff of dreams really ! Cheers, Ard
Hey mate! Yep really happy with how it all went and it’s a lot of fun getting things running and finding different things as you go! I should have sold tickets for people to come help and I could have taken it easy😉😂
Well, the trip there would have been more than enough "ticket" for me ! 😅 But anyway, I'll be looking forward to the more regular scheduled program ! Cheers, Ard
You’ve taken a lot if treasure outta there, hopefully it can go to saving others, or carry on making someone a living! Plenty stuff to keep your content busy!
Yep it’s hard to know what to keep! I will fix up the things that don’t need heaps of labour for a start and keep a few things but most will have to be sold to keep the bank balance in check!
Hey Jake, good video as always,A few more projects for you now ,good to see some of the machinery running and moving, nice job of the yard clean up and finishing off, thanks for sharing as it would be enough work without videoing
Thanks mate it was a lot of work I would have loved to video more and make it into a mini series but it does add a lot of time recording and my phone was already full as it was! Thanks for watching
Definitely some treasures there mate! That Mack looks like you could put it straight back on the road, love the “does it have air con and Jake’s”😂 hope you did well out of these yards mate💪🏻🤙🏻
The Grove crane is a 471 you can tell by the rocker cover bolts are around the outside 71 series has the bolts from the top so did the 92 series I would love to see one of those 16 V 71 in a truck that would be awesome. They Sounds so good. 😊That Louis with the 3208 that's a good find
Hey mate so is it a 453 or 71? I always get mixed up between the two if 471 have boots through the top then this one should be a 453 because it has the screws around the outside? The 16v71 would look good in that little cabover kenworth I’ve got I reckon! Thanks for watching mate!
@@dieseldownunder. Sorry I said 471 I meant to say 453. They have the bolts around the outside of the rocker cover which that one does, 71 series has them down from the top in the centre of the rocker cover and yes you're right. I was thinking the same thing that 16v71 would look good in that cab over Kenworth that you've. got.
Worked in a steel works had an emergency cooling pump run by a Detroit V 16 . My job was to test it weekly ! The sound was awesome but from stone cold to full taps in less than a minute always made me cringe !
Nice, there were some gems in that yard. But when an engine hasn’t ran for years is it wise to start and rev it straight away? Especially not knowing what the cylinders look like, or if it’s about to suck a heap,of crap or water in?
Hey mate there sure was! Which one was that? I think the crane I gave it abit of a rev we checked all the filters ect before starting so knew that it should be ok, we had been trying to prime it up for quite a while so it had fired on a number of occasions for 10-15 seconds it wasn’t the first start, it’s just hard to show everything in the videos without making them too long Cheers
@@dieseldownunder. all good mate I know not everything’s filmed so shouldn’t of brought it up. I was just surprised about how much of the gear started straight up especially the 3208, did the owner day everything should start or were you going into it thinking everything would most likely be scrap?
I brought both of them back to the yard I have enough parts to make 1 good one and will have a heap of spares left over, send me an email info@dieseldownunder.net and I can send you some pics Cheers
In fitzory crossing I arive on a site. With the same old ford. Duct tape the water hose. 1 km to the tip. Concrete yard in derby wa. Then owner say drive to fitzory crossing. 300km away. In 45dc temp. I beg. Put low loader. No in tow ute and trailer. Water oil fuel. Front window rusted out. What killed it no dash . And intera hot water vale failed. All the water ran away. And i cracked the heads. Reales bracks. Pull axle. Hard line connection. Tow 250 km to fitzory crossing. Old ford will not tie if not for humans hehe.
That inter 125e and td8 were both tough machines in there day... good finds..
Thanks mate I’ll be able to get atleast one of them running hopefully both with abit of effort!
Cheers
@@dieseldownunder. get that td8 running, then i may hit you up.

Hey Peter the ford is a little ripper it does have some rust in the cab but it runs so smooth!
@@dieseldownunder. if you only had a welder an some metal it could be as good as new an id make it a flat top it be a fun truck for shows

Can we get more of Stuart singing? Reminds me of him at the Geelong Hotel in the 90's
