    Old Kenny just needed you ,, you are well rounded on your skills and bloody good at the lot ,, your dad needs to pat you and himself on the back ,, he taught you bloody well , honest your far more switched on than guys double your age ,, I,d enjoy working with you ,,cause I don't need to check or worry about what or how you've fixed it ,, now that is important in a work shop , competence

      Thanks mate, Definitly wouldn’t be where I am without dad! I know what you mean though I can’t really employ anyone because I expect too much from them and don’t want to be looking over their shoulder but the older blokes don’t want to listen to someone young enough to be their kid so easier to just do it myself! Got plenty to learn still and always will have you can never not know too much!

      @@dieseldownunder. oh hiring people, can be a hard fuck alright ,, and yea many blokes don't like younger guys as their boss ,, oh well go look else where then ,, what you say is actually how people are today ,, don't let them ever stand over you when your the guy handing the Order out , and then check over everything they do ,, takes time , if I check a person twice and works not up to scratch for time spent doing it then they swear floors for a hr then they get told I got no work for you I'm sorry

      We just received our T950 SAR number 309 , and I tore it apart to fit old school roof foil on flat top sleep , holly shit what a massive job pulling it apart inside sleeper last night I left work at 1,15 am , but we got it on and it's 1st trip out is Convoy for kids along side the westernisation prestige the 2 nicest trucks I,very got organised and detailed big time , lots of stainless on westernstar so now it's all cleaned and polished it looks better than the way we got our new 950sar , and this is the 2nd time it's been sent out to us ,, but 2nd time was no better than the 1st , heaps of problems , nothing working and a red hot front diff , like can't keep you hand on the diff it's

    Another great video. You need to get a front door before I would worry about the aircon on the cat 😂
    The Kenworth you just got would make a great Slide tilt tray to carry your crawler to a few truck and machinery shows. I can’t wait to see your next video 👍

    • @dieseldownunder.
      @dieseldownunder.  Год назад +2

      Cheers mate! It’s worse having a door and no AC they get so hot it’s like a glass bubble!
      I said that to dad when we looked at it if I can find a decent price tilt tray to go on the back I would Definitly do that it would be awesome to move the smaller stuff around like you said!

    Check Clutch on air conditioning compressor, didn't alter engine load when you were flicking it on off , if there power to compressor clutch and its not engaging then its a clutch coil , and best way to check if air conditioning works feel pipes right at compressor ,, beware full not to get stuck to the pipes if frozen ,, touch with finger tips , if the are frozen then great ,, she works well

    • @dieseldownunder.
      @dieseldownunder.  Год назад +1

      Yep your right I didn’t hear any change in engine load but these cats have a hydraulic motor to run the ac compressor they don’t run off the engine like you would normally see so I’m not sure if the engine load would be a noticeable change being hydraulic driven, I’ll have to check it out and see

    I'll give ya you dues ,, not bad on the bob cat , smooth compared to many many ive seen use them , I know who that truck belongs too ,,, Glen from Bairnsdale area , ex concrete truck, needle gun concrete of it then wash it with acid wash ,, MAG wheel cleaner for aluminium, it loves to eat dirt rust and silt stains and yes it instantly fizz when it comes into contact with concrete, use stiff brush wear glasses

      I’m still getting used to it I’ve always used the standard bobcat controls with foot pedals so the joysticks take abit of getting used to at the start! There you go small world going by the stickers on the door I knew it came from over that way it will clean up with abit of work after I do the other trucks!

      This is actually a w series aswell so the full model would be w925S2 s2 referring to the short bonnet, I just refer to it as a s2 to keep it short, there is an s model which were s925 they were Seattle built trucks that looked like a very early SAR

    G,day mate I do exact same thing with the coloured plastic ties ,, I am doing 1982 white road boss , fully redone frame including new inner frames rust jacking was bad , all I have is empty gutted cab no doors just dash board only , chassis has no tanks 5th wheel , no bumper ,, I am chasing a air cleaner body to suit this white road boss ,, if you know of any let me know , could use same one from kenworth , even bought 2 super long horns for the roof brand new and torpedo lights too and found original white sun visor , so I am gathering the bits for complete restoration back to new look as white ,, it's spent 27 years dressed as western star

      Hey mate that’s good to hear! Sounds like a good project! They take a lot of work and money but it’s all worth it! I’ll let you know about air cleaners I’m chasing some 14” ones aswell I’m going to try to remake them if it works out I’d be able to give you a couple of new ones!
