    as a fellow doula would love to see a series from you on doula to doula tips…..working with nurses they always push back on me even with the side lying position and try to force my clients to still grab both knees and “curl” around baby even as i am a explaining the anatomy and how the asynclitic pushing is better

    Thanks so much for sharing your insight and advice! Just curious, why do you think hospitals are always so quick/adamant to have us push on our backs with our legs up? From everything I’m seeing and reading, that’s really not an ideal position, yet with both of my previous deliveries that’s how they had me deliver. Just a preference/convenience thing for the doctor and nurses? Thanks!

      Yes, absolutely a preference/convenience thing. They have been taught this way and have the most experience with it so they assume that it is the way that works. Really hard to change!
