I'm so happy Blackstar has gone down this path. I've been a Blackstar fan from the first HT series amp I owned. I always said that Blackstar is the company Marshal should have grown up and become. Solid gear, straight forward to use, sounds just great, no need for "fancy". This little pedal plus a Plethora or H9 in the loop and you are absolutely laughing!
I've been running the Amped 3 (sometimes direct into my DAW, sometimes through my Marshall return jack, and sometimes both at the same time) with a Tumnus into a Spark Booster - when it calls for it - into the "front" of the Amp pedal. Then I run a Boss delay into a Wampler Ethereal reverb/delay, into a Spark mini through the effects loop. The 2nd Spark gives that nice volume boost for solos. The Marshall DSL40 only has two channels with a shared EQ. The Amped 3 has 3 channels with individual EQs per channel, plus extra options. This Blackstar creation is my new go to setup. Win.

The Amped2 has delay modulation and reverb. less gain though. Just buy the effects you want an run them through the effects loop. If you really want a device this size but with effects save up for a quad cortex.
Amazing how far modellers have come! The only unfortunate part is that because it’s a computer, it’ll become obsolete pretty quickly and get replaced with something better within a few years which inevitably kills the resale price. It’s really the only place a tube amp still wins hands down. That said, if you’re looking for a music making tool that is lightweight and portable, and selling it down the road isn’t a primary consideration, these are awesome in the studio and on the stage! Love the power tube selection!
I agree 100%. If you look at a 2000 year old chair from Rome and and a chair from today...they look the same. Because there is not chip in it. Anything with a chip will be obsolete within a few months!

Travis, if you watched my videos, you'd know I don't promote anybody and everybody. I actually use what I promote, and if I'm paid for it even better. Out of 500+ videos on this channel, I've only done about a dozen paid sponsorships ever. I have used the AMPED 3 with the THR30ii together for every video since I got it because it was a product I was waiting for for a long time because it's perfect for what I do. And before then, I solely used the Yamaha THR amps. If I didn't like it, I wouldn't have made a video on it in the first place. I would have simply sent it back and kept my mouth shut. You're right to be sceptical in this day and age but you're wrong to channel your feelings towards me in this scenario. Also, I already owned and used Blackstar and Yamaha products years before I was ever contacted by the brands to do videos. Now that you've been informed, in future please don't comment about me on my videos when you don't know what you're on about.
I use the AMPED 3 in every video Shane. I don't need paying to say how good this product is for what I do. If you watched me or this channel you would know I hardly do any paid sponsored videos at all. I don't promote anybody who's anybody. I promote the stuff I like. Out of over 500 videos on this channel, under 30 of those are sponsored. I hope this clarifies things. 👍🏻

Maybe.... Google it????
@@CameronCooper LMAOOOOO. I hate that shit. In the same time it took to type out " hOw MuCh DoEs iT CoSt!?!?" he could have, as you stated it, easily googled it XD. awesome review.
Fuck!! It sounds amazing!! 🔥🤘🏻 How much does this cost??
What string gauge do you use and which brand?? 😄🤘🏻
Google the AMPED 3 price will vary. I use Elixir Optiweb 09-42
This will power a 4-12 cabinet?
@@plumpoctave1532 Yes. Watch the video
It's difficult to imagine the words amazing, and Blackstar in the same sentence.
An opinion like that can only come from a fearful traditionalist but each to their own I suppose.
@@CameronCooper -Blackstar just sucks. No fear involved.
@@dotconnector76 nahh they're great!
@Dot Connector They suck so much they've created an incredibly successful and innovative company. If only we all sucked that much!!
Untill you try to record and don t play with a real cabinet. Line out is pretty lifeless and it loses a lot.
I have no issues. People think I lie about what I use half the time which says a lot.
@@CameronCooper EytschPi42.....check his video
Said same sht about Yanahas rhr stuff. All these "influencers" opinions are directly proportionate to their paychecks
Paid shills😢
I use the AMPED 3 in every video Shane. I don't need paying to say how good this product is for what I do. If you watched me or this channel you would know I hardly do any paid sponsored videos at all. I don't promote anybody who's anybody. I promote the stuff I like. Out of over 500 videos on this channel, under 30 of those are sponsored. I hope this clarifies things. 👍🏻
hi Cameron, does it have a headphone output? Is the sound through headphones acceptable?
Yes and yes. I point it out in the video.
@@CameronCooper I'm sorry but I don't speak English very well but I still watched your videos because you are an excellent guitarist and I really like following you
so they bring out a amped 3... no delay or modulation... no fuzz.. no tuner... liked on the amped 2... what am i missing?
Can you run a cab onstage and still use the main out for FOH?
Yes if you wanted
NO MIDI OUT??
It does have MIDI
Sounds great with your playing but too digital sounding it's just flat and metallic sounding does have a slo type evh tone but just digital
I'll make an EVH preset for it
If you paid attention, you'll notice I played EVH in this vid :)
Your playing is always fantastic!I love the Yamaha thr stuff and your tribute to EVH !
The Yamaha technology does sound better than blackstar I think but it's not horrible either
