As much as I love my tube amp and my modeler, when I look at the size, convenience, and cost and hear this kind of sound quality, I start to wonder if this could be the future of amps. Been a number of this style of pedal lately. At any rate, sounded great.
Thanks Leon for demoing the cabrig software in more detail. Most demos use an external cab. I use the Amped 1 direct and I much prefer the cabrig tones. Sounds great throughout here. Great review.
I've just started this video but THIS is what companies should be focusing on. You can spend £1500 on a Kemper or Fractal and it hasn't got a power amp so it's useless. This thing is an amp you can store in a gig bag and then you just need to add some chorus/delays and a wah.

Amped 2 was on the right track. Now amped 3 with programmable channels at that price (for the functionality) is borderline unmatched. Trend setting product.

Great Demo Leon. Im so glad they added channels. Could you imagine if they would have kept the basic effects from the Amped2 version and you could have gigged with ONE amp a guitar and cabinet (or not). Wondering why they ditched the effects?
Because these paired with the hx effects in 4cm would be better
I'd guess that it's to use the same basic form factor for 2 and 3 to save production costs.
cool stuff , love seeing these options out there not sure if it's something you could look at doing, but any chance you could demo these units (The laney 60watt Foundry would be cool too) as a power amp for a Fractal FM3/FM9 or another modeller ?

Yes you have 3 slots to save your cab rig settings, and a mini toggle switch to access them.
Yes, it would be nice if the boost can be saved per patch.

I'm assuming you can't load in 3rd party IR's?
I run an HX Stomp, but I’d be curious your opinion of someone buying this Amped 1-2-3 pedal and a cab, or spend close to the same and buy a Fractal FM3?
Depends on what you need it to do. The Fm3 is a no brainer for me since all my favourite amps are modeled really accurately and there's all the juicy Fractal delays reverb and pitch effects in there. If you want a 3 channel amp that does the basic tonal food groups that you can fit in your guitar bag, and still want to have a DI option, this is certainly handy.
This pedal really make me to start collect money anymore...

For me with any amp, I just go straight to the heaviest sound. Clean and crunch channels are easy, I just want to know if it has enough gain and sounds heavy enough, after that you can dial it all back.
Seems a cool bit of kit. I don't get why they have a pre OR post boost. I find when I want a solo boost, I want pre boost AND post boost. Surely they could implement that in a platform like this pretty easily. But nobody ever does. Ah well.

@@LeonTodd Yep, that's why I use a modeler. Not for the gagillion amps and FX, but for the control of little things like this that make performing easier. One button to solo. Everything gets set right. No tap dancing.
When you set it for post, does it at least give you a significant Volume boost?
Every demo I’ve watched this pedal sounds thin and harsh.

I really like Blackstar but this is plain stealing in a cheap way on the Amp1 by Thomas Blug and the Amp1 sounds way better
