  • This shrugging exercise combined with the double chin exercise takes your neck strength and stability to the next level. Plus it feels great for most people because you can feel the pressure taken off your neck right after your done doing this.

    I was screaming in pain for God to help and he lead me to this video. No joke. After a week of sleepless nights of agony, I did your extreme exercises for cervical radiciopothy and finally had relief. I don’t usually admit to screaming at God but in this case I was hopeless. Thank you so much for helping people like me. You are a gift literally from God to me. Bless you.

    Why the wall? Can one just do the shrugging while arms are parallel to the floor?

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  Год назад +2

      Hi Michael, Feel free to modify the exercise to suit your comfort and capabilities! The reason we recommend using the wall is to help you maintain proper form and avoid applying excessive pressure on your neck and shoulders.
      When you perform the shrugging motion against the wall, it provides a gentle boundary that prevents you from using too much force, helping you focus on engaging the right muscles without straining your neck. It also promotes better posture and alignment, ensuring that you get the most out of the exercise while minimizing the risk of discomfort or injury.
      However, if you feel confident in performing the shrugging motion with your arms parallel to the floor and can do it comfortably without putting unnecessary stress on your neck and shoulders, that's perfectly fine! The key is to listen to your body and make adjustments as needed. 😃

    Most people have tight upper traps. Why would you recommend doing this particular exercise which would cause more tightness to the upper traps?

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  2 месяца назад

      Hi Roxy,
      The root cause of most cervical radiculopathy often involves weak trapezius muscles. This exercise is designed to strengthen the traps and address the muscle imbalance. However, if someone is experiencing tightness in the traps, they would need to do different exercises. This particular exercise is specifically for addressing a pinched nerve.
