Could I add a couple of tips. best time is low tide incoming and sometimes the biggest ones are in the very shallow bit basically following the foam line up across the mud flats. I also like edge of channels at dead low they sit there along the edge waiting for the tide to come on to the flats at low tide. Their favorite food is those square mud crabs so look for the crab holes during the day that's where the flounder will be as the tide reaches them. Another thing is they can be anywhere I have speared them in muddy estuaries sandy beach's and even in the surf at Muriwai.
Also this time of year is the best, right now guys.
Cheers mate yea we decided recently we would like to do a more detailed flounder video sharing a few more tricks. Your on point mate all spot on tips
gonna use the tips tomorrow 🤘🏿🤘🏿
That was an epically funny, but incredibly useful demonstration / dry run on the land. Fantastic teaching, very natural, thank you so much!
Hahaha cheers mate glad you found it useful
Awesome video bro and big ups to you both for the Manākitanga towards another man trying to get a feed
Thankyou bro. Love meeting new like minded people and sharing a mission
Thanks bro for the video, I'll be definitely trying your techniques from across the ditch.
Glad im not the only one that gets carried away practicing before I go out , Loved it guys .
I see this video is an older one but if you still read comments - a better light set up and rig for this type of spearing is. = 4wd tube with a box lashed on top of the tube, car battery and a forklift light attached to a pole, it has to be well sealed (silicon). The light illuminates parallel to the bottom so your sight fishing is around 15 to 20 meters in front of you. No reflection or annoying insects. The fish are easier to spot as they appear as a lump on an otherwise flat bottom. Anyone reading this and setting up like this will be very successful. The beauty of this set up is that with a turn of the wrist you can easily view 180 degrees of terrain. Good luck
Great video and awesome catch. Thats how you do it mate.I love the way you made your home made spear and torch.
