    Mavic 3 Classic - amzn.to/3XC2XZK (choose configuration from the order page)
    For DJI Black Friday Sales go to store.dji.com/... - NOT an affiliate link
    DI Air 2 and Air 2S are discontinued - look around for best prices on these. You may find good deals on used drones at mavicpilots.co... (for sale forum)
    This holiday season, many stores are marketing drones. The truth is, most of these drones are garbage and will give you nothing but problems - poor quality video, limited range, disconnects resulting in fly-aways, crashing, etc. Remember, you don't want to give a poor quality drone that could be a safety hazard. Don't waste your money on a bad drone. In this video I show you what drones to avoid, and several drones that are worth considering.

    Jeff. I stepped out of the Drone world a couple of years ago. Although the fire still burns inside. Anyway. That aside I just wanted to complement you on your non biast, thoughtful and professional opinions. Your a fantastic orator who is a joy to listen to.

      I really appreciate that! In 2023 i plan to expand into more photography, video and technology beyond drones (and drones too!) So I'm glad you stuck around.

    Very good information Jeff! All drones are not equal. My first drone cost about $99 and would just fly away on its own. I got exercise chasing the stupid thing all over the place. I was glad it didn't have much range. Anyway, I got the original Mavic Mini and it was just like night and day. I sold the Mini and now I have the Air 2s, which is an incredibly dependable drone with an awesome camera.

      Great post, Rush. I see all these cheap drones being hyped and I know what's going to happen when people get them. But people somehow think you can get all that capability for $100, and you just can't. Glad to see you're flying the Air 2S. Just a terrific drone.

    Nice Jeff for those wanting to get a drone as a gift or for themselves. I always tell those who ask me to at least get the Mini2. If you find droning is for you. Consider eventually upgrading. My first drone years ago was Syma X5 and was thrilled with it. Thought it was the coolest thing.😃

      you make great points. The mini 2 is available at a great price right now and it gives people a "real camera drone" experience. I think that Costco deal is a really good choice. I flew a bunch of the toy drones like Symas before getting a camera drone . . . it's a terrific way to learn how to fly. They're a lot of fun too.

    Great video. Bottom line. You get what you pay for. With ANY ELECTRONICS. keep that in mind folks.

      Thanks, Bigb73. You're absolutely right. And with drones, it's not just a matter of quality and durability, but safety. Flying a toy drone is fun, and a great way to learn how to fly. But expecting a toy drone to function as a real camera drone is an invitation to disappointment, at the very least.

    You forgot the DJI Mini SE! That´s a quality drone with everything a beginner possibly needs for only around 300.- USD. It only has a video resolution 2.7 K and not 4K like the Mini 2 but you can´t really tell the difference with the naked eye anyway...

    • @JeffSibelius
      @JeffSibelius  Год назад

      Hi Cliff - that is a good choice for beginners, as is the mini 1. Are these available in any stores? I didnt get into used stuff, but i may do a separate video on buying used and if I do i will talk about all the mini drones

      @@JeffSibelius The original Mini might be difficult to find these days but the Mini SE is available new through Banggood and through Amazon in Europe. Oh, and you also forgot to mention the Fimi X8 Mini (250 gr.)! Both are reasonably priced drones with high quality performance.

    Hey Jeff. How ya be? Quick question for you if you don't mind. Tried to do a IMU calibration on the old Evo1. The drone started drifting so thought I would try a IMU.
    You know the Autel explorer now is the same app for the Evo1 and Evo2. When I connect to the Evo1 and go to the settings to start an IMU. A pic of the Evo2 shows up with "follow the instructions" and it saying "starting calibration" then absolutely does nothing. Funny how there is no Autel video for an IMU on the Evo1, Evo2 Yes! I'm just wondering if you have ever tried it in the past. Thanks my friend.

    What about Yuneec?

    • @JeffSibelius
      @JeffSibelius  Год назад

      I have stayed away from Yuneec products ever since the company abandoned hundreds of customers. I did check their site after I read your post - right now they're having a 15% off sitewide sale - store.yuneec.com/

      @@JeffSibelius hi Jeff, sorry to hear you no longer like Yuneec drones. It was because of you excellent videos using the Yuneec Q500 that I bought mine. Why did they abandon their customers as I missed that one?
      Best regards,
      Sky.

    • @JeffSibelius
      @JeffSibelius  Год назад

      @@skyhill4279 Glad my videos were able to help you! Yuneec got into financial trouble and stopped paying their warranty service company. Then they shut down all their phones and email contacts. Then the warranty service company went out of business. And all the drones people had sent in for servicing were stuck in a company that was out of business, with no way to get their drones back. I think it all got worked out, ultimately, but it was a really rotten way to treat loyal customers.
      I probably did more videos on Yuneec drones than anyone else, so I really felt bad when everything happened. I decided I wouldn't give that company anymore exposure . . . if they want to contact me to discuss things, I'd be happy to hear from them, but until then, I just won't cover them.
