We just did that this summer. It was pretty fun, but it's where I really found out I can't do straight hard liquor anymore after really only having beer the last several years. It's immediate torturous heartburn. It's not a southern hug, but a southern strangling! However, make it a cocktail with ginger ale, I'm all over it!
It still allows me to taste the nuances of different bourbons/whiskeys but still be very drinkable and enjoyable. The best thing is that I can enjoy a Jameson ginger, just the same as a nice Buffalo Trace or Woodford Reserve. Maybe not EH Taylor, probably too expensive to mix.

I am now retired (67) and have tasted more than 50 different Single Malts, Single Grains and Blended Scotch Whiskies, mostly neat but sometimes as cocktails.

@@kb5509 uh.. imo.. i mean everywhere has MJ and almost everyone in a 1st World Country (and more) tried it atleast when they were younger but the NEW high quality Medical and Recreational stuff is like another league lol (and has everything from regular nugs to soda n ice cream). It’d be super funny to watch them be like “eh its ok” n “tastes alright, doesn’t seem too strong” then BAM theyr just fried 😂. If it was in the US it would legal and ofcourse they would have to consent but I think it would be SUPER enjoyable for them and audience.
Typically the stuff in EU is worse quality even if they ARE stoners so even that would be awesome to see them really appreciate something grown clean and produced properly etc. It would still be another world to them but they’d be saying from the jump “I need this in my life” lol. All of them would I think enjoy it, including us, or I wouldn’t suggest it.

I DO like my whiskey! All kinds! American Wild Turkey 101 Kentucky Bourbon, Irish (so many), Scottish (also many). None of the blended stuff. Canadian Club is for mixed drinks. A true whiskey drinker takes it neat or maybe with ONE ice cube!

Well I as a Canadian take offense!! What they used here ,Canadian Club , is about as generic a whiskey you'll find . Just crap !! Now ,have you ever had a nice Gibsons 12 year old , Crown Royale ? Try those and then complain if you think it's justified!!

I've heard that the reason for the more expensive alcohols is bcuz u don't have to keep drinking it u can sip on one glass all night and feel way better than if u drank a ton of cheap shit. And there's zero hangover. I've noticed I catch more of a buzz quicker with a lower % of alcohol with certain types. Like Baileys is 17% and Rum is 40% and I get the warm fuzziness right away with bailey's (but not cheaper cream liqors) and the lambs rum 🥃 wasn't doing it for me. it's weird I think it's the terpines. same with weed it isn't the amount of the that does the trick b u t the combo of terps. also the sugar content I alcohol is lower when it's aged and pricier but it's better. apparently. idk I haven't quite figured it out yet . also the alcohol in north America is like poison compared to Russia and Germany. I hear .
