Tons of respect for Irish people. Mexico and the Irish have a deep bond. Anyone who doesn’t know can look up the story of ST. Patrick’s battalion. Mexico feverishly celebrates this Irish holiday.
Theres an old movie bout I that I watched as a kid good movie even tho its kinda dark but that's how it was
As a Mexican I consider our fellow Catholic alcoholic boxing passionate people as our European cousins
We both also have two “American Holidays” which revolve around drinking all day
Is a Native American Apache, Mexican Chicana 🦅🧑🏽🎤The history that we have with our Irish cousins 🧑🏽🎤is gratefulness I have to say thankfulness and amazing and I do have an Irish grandfather and my grandmother who was on the Pueblo reservation got pregnant of course back in the 1800s it was nothing we could do we’re supposed to do and She died of a broken heart 💔for the man that she loved a Irish man that she was so much in love with who was working as engineer for the trains💚 One day hopefully I get to go to Ireland and see if I can find his family but thank you my Irish cousins💚🦅🎸🎶🦋
Also known as the Patricios!! I’m Mexican with Irish descent!! And love that I am!!
My friend picked up a bottle tequila in Mexico that cost 200 dollars. It was handmade and bottled by a little old man. He aged it 9 years with vanilla, cocoa, and coffee beans. It is the best thing I ever drank. It was incredibly strong, but smooth. As soon as it hit the back of your throat, all the vanilla, cocoa, and coffee flavors filled your mouth.
Wow! That sounds amazing.😊
@@dianegilchrist677 It was, which was surprising, since I usually hate tequila or any spirit straight (other than whiskey/bourbon). I now have another reason to visit Mexico.
That sounds like a drink I had (I’m Mexican) lol it’s like a coffee style mezcal but more homemade straight from Oaxaca it was so smooth and good!
Also had an almond flavor tequila Amazinggg
@@EO1025 I'm a big almond fan, so I would love to try that.
Most Mexicans considered Corona to be cheap "lightish" beer. Please try the Bohemia!
Irish (From Ireland!), when you visit Mexico be sure to let the Mexicanos know you are from Ireland (Irlanda). You all hold a special place in Mexico's heart.
its the same thing there is no difference in those
That’s y Connor was so famous most combat sports fans are Mexicans if u look in the crowd during Connor’s fights you’ll see a lot of Mexicans

@@strikemanpop Yeah, there are some great Mexican beers!
"If that's the sickness, I'm down with that." Well played, Dermot. Well played.
Oh wah aah aah aah!!!
Came to the comments to see if anyone picked that up. Cheers to you 😂
Dermot and Paddy have a friendship that extends beyond death!
So Dermot, at Paddy's wake, has to sing "The Night Paddy Murphy Died" by Great Big Sea. A song that pops into my head whenever Paddy is in a video.
A month after Paddy’s wake, Dermot needs to pick up Paddy’s skull and say: Alas poor Paddy, I knew him well…
I'm an Irishman living in California and have many Mexican amigos. Love to party, drink, dance, sing.
Mexicans owe the Irish so much
@@Daswagmaster no bro I am living on your land the least I can do is fight for you.
@@timlinator The Irish fought with us for this land, they have a right to this land as much as Mexicans.
@@Daswagmaster This Irishman will still fight with you.

Midori is an ingredient. It absolutely needs to be a part of a cocktail.
Yes!!
My Mom used to drink Midori sours 😝😝
It is only a drink to drink by itself when you are too poor or under aged to drink cocktails. Also don't be surprised when your puke is neon green after drinking it alone 😂
@@ooinvsaooI have a feeling she is the same as me. Doesn't really know what to order so just order what she knows even if it's not that good. Who really wants those on purpose?! 😂
I adore Midori... Especially a sour ❤
You guys should do a Mexican beer episode. Modelo, Sol, Carta Blanca, Tecate, Bohemia, and Dos Equis and of course Corona and so on and so on.
Cervecería Modelo/Grupo Modelo and Cervecería Cuauhtémoc-Moctezuma/FEMSA would love it. They own all MX cerveza.
And Noche Buena
@@LuisArturoFabreOrtiz I will have to see if they sell that in my area to try it out.
Victoria!
Mi Barrilito amado
As a famous mexican once said: "Mexicans are born wherever the f*ck we want " so Midori, welcome to the Mexican alcohol selection.
Like an infestation.😂
I just learned it's manufactured in other places, I thought it was just Japanese this whole time.
@@flyingaceify Used to be exclusively produced in Japan, hence the Japanese name adoption.
Well... That phrase is in fact, from a Costa Rican singer called Chavela Vargas.
@@artparsa1590 do you understand what she meant by that and how it relates to my comment?
Love the Irish! Greetings, amigos/amigas. 🇮🇪🇲🇽🇮🇪🇲🇽
I feel like the divide between folks who like tequila vs. who like mezcal is a similar split to the divide between bourbon and scotch enjoyers. Either you dig the smokiness or you REALLY REALLY don't.
Scotch has subcategories. Highland scotch is almost always smokey but some of the other regions such as Speicide (probably misspelled that) are much more approachable.
Strangely enough, I LOVE mezcal (recently did a holiday in Mexico and had a BLAST trying HEAPS) but I don't like peat-y or really smokey scotch. Mixed bag!
@@fr2ncm9 actually, it's the Islay scotch that tends to be more smoky than Highland. Which isn't to say Highland scotch isn't smoky, but it ain't like Islay. Islay is all about smoke and brine.
@@fr2ncm9Speeside 🙂
I will never understand how anyone enjoys drinking smoked, rotten arsehole. I guess that says which side I'm on lol
Mexican here. I've never had myself, family, or Mexican friends say "buy some Mendori for the party."
Yo si pero no te tomas más de 1 botella jajajajaja midori con sprite es delicioso
Nicole's "witch giggle" after she drank the mezcal was so funny😂
My husband is Mexican Irish, raised more in Mexican tradition. I am scotch Irish. I tried a no label bottle of tequila that his dad brought up from Mexico. I lost that night for sure.
"I will happily, happily desecrate your body to drink out of your head." "In my will, I'm leaving my skull to you." Only on the Try channel, folks....only on the Try channel
Hahaha😂
“And if it’s not a skull it should be a horn.”
"The best tequila I've had all day" high praise from an Irishman
Watching this made me smile since it hits home for me. My family is Mexican/Aztec and my husband is Scotch/Irish. I have much appreciation for tequila and since being married to him, developed a taste for Scottish and Irish whiskey. Thanks for the giggles!
My wife is Irish too and I'm Mexican ❤
@@Xxiii__ Nice!!

When vacationing in Mexico, my friends and I made shots of Tequila and Midori... we called them "Señor Gojira". 😜🤣
if only i spoke japanese
@jeremylarson6267 I'm not sure if you're joking, but Gojira is the original Japanese name for Godzilla.
What ratio did you use when mixing the two.
LOVE IT hahaha
@@osonhouston - not sure if you watched the video but dermot is not japanese
Nicole's cheeks getting redder as she drinks is adorable. "I can't control the noises I make when I drink" was hilarious! Me too, Nicole. Me too.
You should try Kahlua, damiana liquer and wine made in mexico from the first wineries in the americas!
Yeah Kahlua was missing, more common than Midori and actually Mexican.
Woah! I actually had no idea it was Mexican
A comparison between their own Bailey's and Kahlúa would be great to see.
They should have had Santa Clara egg nog. It’s a tall, thin, trapezoidal bottle with a nun on the label. It’s produced in Mexico, it’s a Mexican alcoholic egg nog. I just saw it at the liquor store last week. My dad used to drink it. I remember the taste: it has a warm, spicy, slightly sweet taste to it. It’s delicious.
Yeah, they sell it here in the states. My corner grocery store sells it here in San Diego County.
Rompope sounds better, than egg nog, because is Mexican.
Yes, they should of had Rompope.
Lol Aw, Nicole’s reaction to Laura’s chugging the tequila was the best, so wholesome, such friendship ❤
Paddy and Dermott drinking.
They'd be a riot in a pub, I'll bet anything. Lol
Pagan is a delight❤ "Is it blessed...I cant touch it"😂😂
And her hair is AMAZING

Thank you 😅
@@pagan_plays My pleasure☺️
Having the wonderful duo of Nicole and Laura on this video was a 10/10!! I love those two ladies, and their reactions to some of the stronger, more potent alcoholic bevys from Mexico was stellar entertainment. I really love Laura, and I'm proud of her for giving up tobacco, you go girl!
Such a fun shoot! I’m a big fan of all these pairs! Especially the Mezcal Girls ❤👌🏻
Ps dyed my hair blue for Charity for those commenting 💙
What for? The Young Smurf's Pagan Association?
It genuinely looks fantastic
It looks amazing pagan
Truely looks freaking great Pagan!
It looks beautiful on you! 🥰💙✌
I loved Mexico - spent 4 months there. Mainly Oaxaca. There’s nothing that beats a cold Michelada and a bottle of good Mezcal on the table on a hot sunny day at the beach bar in Xpu-Ha with some Mexican friends.
And the food 😮 amazing
Pagan's hair looks amazing!!!
Thank you! I dyed it blue for Charity 💙
You served 2 types of Corona beer. One was Lijera which is the light version and the other one is Extra which is the regular version. Kind of like Bud Light and Budweiser.
It's always good fun when the folks take a trip to another country, at least in spirit(s). Holding out for an actual field trip though...
Thanks for the smiles as always - slainte!
Famous last words...LETS GO TO MEXICO!
Also Nichole's face just kept getting redder and more tired as this went on and that was adorable!
Mexican alcohol day but not a single lime in sight 😅
Or salt
@@CHETinnitOr knife fight.

And they didn’t speak Spanish…. SMH, ya’ll are ridiculous
Na limes are for wimps
Mexico also has a lot of craft beers that are really good like Peninsula, Urbana, Insurgente, Fauna
During the holidays…Bohemia release the noche buena which is only released durning the Christmas season and made in small quantities so getting them is always a treat. Anyone near a good Mexican bodega should Keep an eye out for noche buena. It’s the best bock style beer ever
Bought some the other day which seemed a bit early, liquor store had a nice display of them. Also like Santa Clara Rompope in December on chilly evenings.
Yes.. 👍
Yes is more. Noche buenas are the shiznit
"I just love the idea of drinking out of skulls..." same, Paddy, same.
You need to try Sotol. Another Mexican spirit. Made from the Desert Spoon plant, which is similar to a yucca or and evergreen plant.
I’m glad I saw this! It’s Mexico’s moonshine 🤌🏽
lol, I just said the same thing before I read this. Dasylirion/sotol is actually in the asparagus family.
I have a hard time understanding the man speaking behind the camera, so I appreciate the subtitles very much, thank you! I love watching these videos!
Midori was invented in Japan and originally made exclusively from special melons grown only in a small region of Japan. Has become harder and harder to acquire these limited supply melons. Guess they are now sourcing other melons. "The Universe" was a Midori cocktail from back in the day that was pretty popular.
Irish military helped México in Mexican American war.
Irish Catholic & Mexican Catholic have a lot in common!
Mexican beer & music is influenced by Germans that moved there in 1940s. There are some communities purely German still.
I am of both cultures. Love my life!
Yes, my father's family comes with an Irish twist, I remember my great grandfather, he played the violin very well, and they all danced Irish style, all of this in a region of Jalisco Mex, were I was born, love everything Irish, specially music.
hehe i love the fact that Paddy is giving his skull to Dermot for a drink glass. rofl
Next time have them try Rompope. (Rōm pō peh) it’s a sipper usually served around Christmas.
I want to see another overseas trip with the Try Team
3:05 Mexico has a lot of Respect for Japan and loves to blend culture with them.
I used to drive down to Mexico a couple times a month. We drank wayyy too much Corona. I'd suggest, next time, taking a lime wedge, and shoving it into the bottle. Plug the hole with a finger and turn it upside down a few seconds. Flip back and enjoy. That's how you drink a Corona. But honestly, you should get a Modelo or Dos Equis, they are much better.
Dos Equis amber, so great on a hot day in the Sonoran Desert.
Salt
Modelo Nigroni is delicious and smooth.
So many more Mexican beers that are superior to Corona IMHO -- Pacifico, Modelo, Dos Equis, Sol, Tecate, Indio ... 😁
its always modelo time foo
Midori is not originated in Mexico, it’s clearly japanese even if it’s meanwhile also produced in other countries:
„It was first released in 1964 under the name "Hermes Melon Liqueur", but changed its name to "Midori" in 1978. It was made exclusively in Japan until 1987. Midori is typically 20-21% alcohol by volume. Its name is the Japanese word for "green" (緑).“
its actually mexican back in 1839 mexican took it to japan where they stole the mexicans idea and rereleased it in 1964 with the name Gringo (wtbk) now you know
@@CHICKENmcNUGGIESMydudethere’s nothing to support that theory lmao. People just trying to say random things for no reason is hilarious
That is quite possibly Dermot's best ever TRY Channel outfit.

we used to get Corona's for $0.13 a bottle in Baja Mexico it was cheaper than bottled water, this was in '79 before they began importing into the US and dist. globally. Even then the locals thought it was sub-par beer and the recipe is exactly the same now as it was then.
I see a very cool vintage Mimi Vice T shirt in the video. & Pagan hair color looks Fantastic.

Pagan with blue hair is every bit as joyful and adorable as Pagan with not-blue hair. Fascinating.
Why wouldn't she be? It would be stranger if she wasn't.
irish and mexicans we love each other, we are so similar.
Negro Modelo is one of my favorite Mexican beers. Actually, just a favorite beer, but not, of course, as good as Guinness, which is always first on any beer list
My fave as well!
Dermot and Paddy are channeling their inner Ed Gien 😬 skull bowls and all😂
Loved how Nicole got the rosy cheeked blush as it progressed. I have the same response when I drink. Apparently it's genetic. And I do have 4x great-grandparents from County Leitrim. Wonder if it's an Irish-derived trait. 🤔
I know it's common in East Asians, so much so that in some places it's called "Asian Flush" or "Asian Glow", I wouldn't be surprised if it was a trait in other ethnic groups too though, my aunts, my mom's sisters, get it quite bad, and the only Asian we are is some Native American ancestry from the upper Midwest of US/Can from a couple generations back. That side of my family seems to be mostly from the UK with some Norwegian, Native American and a bit of northern French. My mom, sister and I get it a bit too, on the nose and cheeks, but not the full bright red blush of my aunts.
@@Sara88890I probably should have been more precise by saying "I wonder if _mine_ is an Irish-ancestry-derived trait." My current Ancestry DNA ethnicity estimate is 92% England/Ireland/Scottish/Wales and the rest is Germanic Europe, which tracks with the other paper-trail evidence. So no Asian ethnicity in me to cause the glow.
Side note on Native Americans ... have you ever checked out the "Native Land Digital" interactive globe that shows the regional areas of various native peoples?
Ya, watching as I always do, enjoying all the tryers and the reactions. Then Nicole says ( I'm not in control of the noises when I drink). Takes your thoughts into a whole different direction if ya know what I mean.
@@KimberlyGreen Interesting, I'm German/Swedish/Ashkenazi Jewish on my dad's side. I've only seen it on my mom's side which does have some Celtic ancestry, so I wonder if it comes from our Celtic ancestry as well. I've never heard of that site, it's very cool! My native ancestry is from Metis (French and Native Americans getting together during the fur trade) the tribes I know my family are connected to are Cree, Ojibwe, and Menominee. Thanks for sharing that resource!
Nicole always strikes me as the kind of person who would quietly sit down at a table in a bar and 10 drinks later would be up on stage with the microphone belting out songs she doesn't know with a mariachi band.
As a proud Mexican, thank you for using actual Mexican traditional music and not just going with salsa ....which is not Mexican. Great video 🎉
Great teams, but Nicole and Laura are always fun! I love Nicole's giggle!

I have all three Kah skulls which you can no longer buy thanks to the Crystal head vodka lawsuit. they were forced to change their bottle design
@douglashoward346 Consider me jealous.
I thought the design was for Dia de los muertos, and utterly different considering it's also opaque.
Been watching for years, and I would LOVE to sit down with Dermot and Paddy and have a drink or 6.
Here’s my personal experience with Mexcal for you to enjoy.
I once visited Tijuana and brought back some mexcal that had a worm 🐛 in it. Can’t recall the name but it had a cartoonish worm that took up most of the label. I drank it with friends and it was alright. I visit my cousin years later and I ask him how his trip to Mexico was and he elaborates. We were talking about tequilas all of a sudden and he wanted me to try a mexcal he bought down there. It was the same kind but just a double shot worth with a worm in it. (Small bottle to have it’s own worm). I told him I had this type before and he insisted that I drink it. So he pours it into a rock glass and I throw it down quickly. As soon as I swallowed it I knew I entered hell. I’ll bypass the details of trying to hold it down only to… make a mess… anyway it turns out he had bought that bottle 4 years earlier on a different Mexican trip and when he got back he had put it on display in one of his windows that faced east (direct sunlight exposure) for th e ENTIRE 4 years he had owned it. The worm itself had liquified however still retained its shape until further inspection. The taste …. Imagine MAGGOTS stewing together for four years in direct sunlight. Because that worm looks like a gigantic maggot and you may know the smell of them if you ever encountered them. Now intensify that memory of disgusting smell in your mouth and the intensity of the taste and smell TEN TIMES FOLD!!!
I have 1 happy memory of mezcal and 1 HORRIBLE MEMORY…..😥 I will never drink mezcal or any drink that has a worm in it….and Wild turkey…u can go to HE$$ TOO!!!
Mezcal. My phone changed it to mexcal. Sorry
As a mexican here's a little advise for everyone trying mezcal. NEVER BUY "MEZCAL" WITH SHIT ON IT. Those are cheap and horrible mezcal made only to impress the gringos. A real good quality mezcal will never have shit on it.

Guys, something I learned the hard way is that for the most part, Blanco Tequilias are for mixing. If you want something to sip, you want to find a Repasado or Anejo. Those have some ageing like a whiskey/bourbon and get much more interesting flavors going on that a blanco. The clear Blanco's are better for mixing because you're going to bury the subtilties with whatever you mix it with.
Just some friendly advice from a Tequila drinker. 😉
one of the finer ones I've had is Fortaleza blanco. Still some intense flavor but more through the nose than on the taste buds. I need to try more reposado and anejo though.
Silver/ Blanco tequilas are the smoothest
No. Tequila blanco derecho.
@@adrianadeanda6647 - I'll have to check that out, but this is also why I said "for the most part". There are definitely some Blancos that are good for sipping, but generally a darker color will be better. 😀 Not always, but most times.
Great job quitting tobacco, Laura! 💪🏻 Keep it up! I quit for 20 years, and then started again, and quit again 20 months ago. Being free from tobacco telling you what to do is awesome!
