yes, Most of us that plate use the 18kt plating anyways because it's a richer, yellower tone. Keep in mind, we plate to only about 4 microns, so this might wear off depending on your bodies own pH.
The melting point of gold is 1,064°C and the melting point of silver is 961°C, so the underlying silver would melt before the gold plating would if you heated it up
What causes the cloudiness when I gold plate I bought the pro lab kit and everything I seen to plate comes out with some cloudiness ☹️ so disappointed in this kit and it was expensive! 😩

What i dont understand is how can something be 24k gold plated if 24k is pure what is it that makes something 24k gold plated? How can is be gold plated if its 24k pure gold. Because you have to put gold onto something else to make it gold plated, how does that turn it onto 24k?
It’s gold PLATED you fool. It is real 24k gold but it is only a micron or two thick on the outer surface, not even a half a gram of 24k gold but it gives you the “LOOKS” that it is solid.😂😂
