    I’m flying to Boston on Alaska. It’s a 3 hour flight, then a 5 hour one. It’s tomorrow!

      Great one as always.I wondered if you are ever disappointed at quote “a bad” or “boring” landing or if there’s something great about everyone?!

      @@aviationcentral6742 Oh yes. There are a lot of takeoffs and landings I've edited and uploaded, but never published. Or some that were just not even worth editing to being with. Case in point, I flew from CRP-HOU once on Southwest. The overcast skies were so low, and the flight was so short, that we entered the clouds after 10 seconds in the air, and never popped back out until 20 seconds before landing. That whole flight never got posted.

      @@sla31 Wow haha that’s something i’ve noticed on some flights too in spring i was coming into atlanta on a delta a320-200 and it was over cast skies i was in seat 22A.But usually on the CFM A320CEO aircraft family comes a very nice engine idle.couldn’t hear it at all lol

    Can’t wait till the winter, I would love to see some snowy flights!

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Год назад +1

      I would love to see that too. But... There's a big problem with winter flying and filming. Deicing... If there's even frost you get deiced and that can ruin the windows for the whole flight. Filming in the winter can often be a frustrating mess. You have to get lucky with a lot of things to get great footage in the winter and since I pay for everything you see on here out of my own pocket, it's always hard for me to justify the cost of winter trips knowing that half of the footage I get probably won't be usable. That all said, I do love flying in snow and winter landscapes. I'll be back in Alaska in September, but that's a little too early for snow. Maybe Canada early next year... We'll see! Thanks for watching my friend!

    WOWOWOWOW!! Great views taking off. Good views of Prince William Sound. Glad they've recovered from the infamous Exxon oil spill back in 1989. Looks like you went by Kluane NP too. Mt. Logan is Canada's highest peak at over 19,000 feet, and it's more than a mountain. It's a massif, like Vinson Peak down on Antarctica. It's all part of the St. Elias Range, which is ultimately connected to the Coast Mountains down along the BC coast line going down to Vancouver.
    I admit that part when you were coming into JNU made me think of the second Alien movie (1986) where the marines fly down to the colony on LV 426, where they went thru heavy clouds and when they landed, it was very dark and rainy. Hopefully you didn't encounter any xenomorphs. :) But you'll have Sigourney Weaver to protect you. :)
    My GF will find out tomorrow after 5PM whether she'll have to report to the courthouse on Monday or not. I'm doing my best to be the good supportive, comforting boyfriend for her. Hopefully YOU won't get called anytime soon, not for many long years.
    Anyhow, another fine, Super-Awesome video... good job as always... time for me to get my daily dose of General Hospital.

    Rare to see several 747 freighters lined up next to one another these days. Anchorage must be quite a freight gateway/transit point.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Год назад

      If I remember correctly, Anchorage is the busiest cargo airport in the US, even ahead of Memphis and Louisville.

    Amazing as always. One question do you find it harder to film if your seated on left or right or is it the same? I'm a left-handed and I feel like if I sit on the right side, it would be harder for me to film the flight.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Год назад

      No, not really. I've gotten so used to filming on either side that it really doesn't make any difference to me. If fact, I'd almost say I prefer to film with my left hand because I'm right handed. It makes it easier for me to do other things if my right hand is the free hand.

    Really tries to watch this one but had to give up after 10 minutes.....the wing took up half of the view......still love your videos.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Год назад +3

      Well it is a known fact that I can’t always get the perfect window that everyone enjoys. This flight was actually a last-minute addition to the trip I was on, and that was the best seat that was available. I usually try to sit a few rows farther back form this location when I plan to feature a behind the wing view, but again, this was all that was available. There’s always the next one! Thanks for giving it a shot!

    Im flying to Anchorage in August, when i was looking at tickets i had an option to fly back to Tulsa through Juneau but it was a 9 hour layover overnight there so i chose not to

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Год назад

      Yeah that sounds like a non-ideal routing for sure.

    • @darrenjohnson4420
      @darrenjohnson4420 Год назад

      @sla31 id love to check out Juneau if it was during the day but its overnight when everything is likely to be closed, although the routing im taking is TUL-DFW-SEA-ANC and back isnt the most ideal but the other options were some insanely long layovers (12+ hours) in DFW or ORD

    Great fly! What's the total flight time of Island Hopper assuming that isn't delayed or cancelled?

    • @sla31

      I assume the mean the United pacific island hopper. And if so, 16 hours.
