    “Caution: Wake Turbulence” (C.1975) is a color, training film produced by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and discusses the impact of wake turbulence and wing-tip vortices on other planes. Narrated by Charles R. Hughes, the film specifically touches on points like how turbulence is formed, its dangers to aircrafts - particularly small aircrafts - during take off and landing, and safety measures for avoiding the effects of such turbulence.     I work in a railyard for an electric railroad that is in the flight path of a large airport. When conditions are right we get "The Ghost in the Wires" as wake turbulence whips through our catenary system. Sounds cool. Wouldn't want to be in a light plane in it!

    I seem to remember seeing that film in the 70s. It made it all the more nervous to have the ATC tell you that you are following a commercial passenger jet in for a landing when you're in a Cessna 172.

    I remember that happened to the couple that owned In-N-Out Burger in California. They were coming in to land at Orange County a bit too close behind something big, and ended up flipping over on final and auguring in.

    I thought it was weight turbulence when I hear it on the scanner. Perhaps some ATC’s actually say weight as opposed wake.

    lol First glance on the cell phone I thought it said 'Woke Turbulence'. Wow. Both planes and cars suffer together here I guess. Like a big truck and a little car.
