Playing devils advocate here. At the time they were separated maybe it was meant to be. At such a young age and to have a baby on top of that. They may not have been able to deal with the pressure. As we get older we are much more capable of dealing with life's adversities. I guess what I'm trying say is maybe this is the way life wanted for each if them. In the end it worked out quite well I think.

I wish their parents were here to see the great mistake they made in keeping them apart. This was obviously not some high school fling. I’m glad they found each other again. ♥️
Literally the only thing this story has in common with the notebook is the fact that there's a break in their relationships. Every other aspect of the storyline from the notebook has nothing to do with this couple.
1rewd1 Exactly what I'd like to tell young people. Gosh, I was young and cute too at one time. It goes very fast after thirty, then forty, then fifty, then sixty. Amazing fast.
As someone who used to be a Care Assistant I agree, they have so many wonderful stories to tell I used to love sitting with them listening to them talk. We had one lady who sadly had Dementia (they all had something that required them to need care but they were all amazing people) she used to talk about her childhood, she would repeat the same story every time about a tree she had in her garden & she would ask you to guess what kind of tree it was. I loved talking to her about it & trying to guess the answer even though I knew what it was, I remember one night I said the correct tree & she was so surprised that I got it right she started giggling like a young girl when I said it was just a lucky guess. I miss working with the elderly but sadly I am now classed as disabled due to back problems & other issues, but I will always appreciate having the privilege to work with such lovely people 💛
Kristina X it's not like they could do much. If your parent said no back then they meant no. There is no "I'm running away" or "Keep me out idc!!". Your parents would make sure you stayed home or all of you would move. Say anything to the authorities and they take the parent's side. There was no center for children that ran away or a shelter.

@Business Model Don't know about where you are, but round here how you age is usually very soxial class dependant. Working class people are old at 55, the middle class don't get to the same stage til nearly 80. Some exceptions of course, but it does seem a softer life can preserve you better.

@@MacenW It isn't creepy, but the REALITY of this story is that he didn't really love her for 50 years, he simply didn't live life with her, it's something that was a bit in his "mind" wouldn't you say? Forgive me if that question is too personal, it's just that I have been more and more curious about the power of prayer in other people's lives. It sure was an unfinished love story. They separated not because they don't love each other anymore but because their parents wanted them to. Love was never gone.
There is a book that I read as a teen titled "somebody's baby" that could have been written about this story!! Here is a piece of the synopsis: "by the end of Jenny's senior year in high school, she was pregnant. When they made a plan to run away, Jenny waited at the spot where Will was to pick her up, but he never showed. What follows is the story of true love that spans three decades -- between man and woman, parent and child. Jenny is forced to give up her baby for adoption, and when that child, Claudia, becomes a parent herself, she begins a search for her biological parents at the risk of destroying the love of the adoptive parents who have raised her. Claudia finds more than she imagined, as she uncovers years of lies and betrayal, sacrifice and silence, and the extraordinary love of Will and Jenny, whose faith and passion survive it all." written by Elaine Kagan.
The sweet thing is, they both look at each other with young eyes. My parents told me this once. They were HS sweethearts and they don't see the aging...they see their faces as they were young. This is such a beautiful story for this couple.
So true. I've been married almost 40 years and I don't see the balding head or gray beard (well I do really), but I still also see the young handsome man with a head full of hair, no beard and the love reflected back at me.
That is very true. Married almost 35 years now and married when I was 20 and he 21. He looks exactly as he did when we met at 19 and 20. The scale may say different, and his comb runs through thinner hair, but I honestly don't see it.
Jesus loves you so much and I need to tell you that He offers you His Righteousness as a gift He will wash you completely Clean from ALL your sins and wants you to Come to him it says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Meaning the punishment for our sins is Hell Because we are not obedient to God. But Jesus was completely obedient to God He went to the cross to die for us and now we do not trust in our obedience but His it says, “Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.” Gods wrath and Judgment went on Jesus Because He was carrying our sins so God treated Him like the worst sinner now God will Justly treat you like you have never sinned after you believe upon Him so when the blood of Jesus is over you God cannot treat you like a sinner! He never wants to but now He can Justly treat you like you never sinned Jesus was our sacrifice for our sins! Tell God you admit your a sinner and ask Him to wash you with His blood and receive His Gift of righteousness. Come out of darkness and into light! it’s your part to receive Jesus to believe upon Him. It says, “Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.” Don’t think it’s not wrong to sin -because He loves us.
And how he got emotional again when he told the story of how he knocked on every door searching for her when he was younger.. that shows how strong his love is.. and still not forgetting their daughter after 50 yrs.. they truly belong to each other
This is proof that parents don't always know what's best, and they make mistakes too. It's also proof that you can be young and still know who and what is right for you. They were both on the same page, eveb though they were young
Culture was very different back then. The system was in place to separate unmarried mother's from their children and young ppl generally did as their parents demanded
He proposed to her and their parents disapproved. Some parents have caused so much unnecessary pain to their childrens' lives. Good to hear such a happy ending😃😃😃

This made me cry. One because they found each other and two because people need to freaking stop thinking they know what's best for other people, even their kids. They didn't have to be separated for that freaking long.
My husband and I met in high school in 2005 when I was 15 and he 16. We had truly fell head over heels for one another, it wasn’t just high school love, it was something that let us both know that we had met our true person. It was as if we have known each for centuries, I know that may sound a little out there but that’s how it felt. but life sometimes throws us curve balls and after 3 yrs of being together we broke up...I had gotten pregnant And then later suffered a miscarriage. Losing a child for those who have been through that is one of the most devastating things any woman can go through. It was as if your own body betrayed you and you feel this horrible guilt. I felt like a part of my soul was lost and I changed, I became withdrawn and so did he. We were only 18 and 19 when it happened and we had a whole mix of feelings. On the one hand we were too young to be parents but we had accepted we were going to be and when that was no longer a option, we lost that spark that held us together, we then decided to go our separate ways, it was just something we had to do, we had to heal and we had to do that apart. I knew I loved Chris and that he would always be someone I cared for but at the time we knew it was the right choice. We were too young to go through those sort of life circumstances. 7 years went by and I began to get curious about where he had gone, I tried Facebook, Instagram, you name it and I couldn’t find him. For years after we broke up I kept feeling that something was missing in my life. Up to that point I had went to college graduated, i had great friends, a job that I loved and a great family but I knew that what I was missing was having or at least knowing whatever happened to Chris. So I grew some lady balls and wrote a letter and sent it to the house he lived in when we were in high school but... I never got a response back...I was sad but I just told myself he is probably happy in his life and doesn’t feel the need to look back or that his family wasn’t living there any longer. So I just went on with my life but then a whole year later out of nowhere, with no warning he shows up at my parents front door, he too had been looking for me but to no avail. He told me that His mother had received the letter but never gave it to him, it wasn’t after a year that she felt guilty and confessed to him that a letter had shown up addressed to him from me. He was pissed as you can imagine but he put all those feelings aside and He came looking for me the very next day after his mother confessed about the letter. When he got to me he admitted that after 7 yrs he too hadn’t fell out of love with me. We married 8mths later in August of 2016 and after two blissful years of marriage we are expecting our first son. These things do happen, and I’m a testament to that. So for those who had once loved and lost, I can tell you that if it’s real TRUE love then no amount of time or distance can pull you both apart.
I think they should make a movie about this story. I feel like the Pretty Woman - He Sleeps Soundtrack by James Newton Howard should be played in the background for the couple as a tribute.
On a second thought, if a man can’t love me like this, if I don’t sense this type of “I will search for you for five decades and love you all my life” love, then NAH, you cannot and I repeat, CANNOT hold my attention. Good bye👋🏿 Edit: For those commenting about how my expectations are “unrealistic” and I will be miserably single my whole life, the comment was purposely dramatic, it was not meant to be taken literal. Side note: Contrary to popular belief, not everyone finds being single to be a bad thing. You should always take time for yourself and be your main love. Thank you ❤️
Kudos to two wonderful people that reconnected, found their daughter and will actually live happily ever-after. I never married and never will but I can respect and admire people that have such a strong, undeniable love.

And it's so tough to move on with your life I have realized because you are linked somewhere else, that's why we have to follow our heart desires and not force relationships
I can’t imagine how he felt when he drove all that way, knocked on her door, and she didn’t answer. That had to be a long day for him. So sad their parents ruined the family they could’ve had.

I have another story like that. In the early 60's in our high school, a young classmate who was Jewish and a young man who was Catholic were forced to break up because of the religion factor. They went their seperate ways and at the 1984 class reunion which they both attended they found out they were both single. It's possible 😂😂(I didn't comment it tho)
I met my husband when I was 16 and he was 17 I can not imagine the pain I would have felt if we had been kept apart. We've been together 21 years and I love him more now than I did then.
I’m just so sorry they loved each other and couldn’t spend their life together with their baby girl... better late than never
Hermetic Kitten ASMR my uncle had reunited with his teen love 40 years later they had not even spoken in that time. They had been really in love and connected at age 16 i think. They talked met and sparks flew (again) So yeah it happens
Yes! God is FAITHFUL...
The mom was a baby as well. That's why.
@@darrenheadrick3669 For the first time on this video, I just met someone who speaks about it with truth and wisely. YOU,Sir.

This man is an absolute sweetheart. He has so much love in his eyes it’s beautiful.

I wish their parents were here to see the great mistake they made in keeping them apart. This was obviously not some high school fling. I’m glad they found each other again. ♥️
Soooo true
For real
I wish they could have gotten married and raised their daughter. This story is heartbreaking.
Exactly what I was thinking. Now what parents?! 😊
That their child would have been raised by two immature kids and she would have never gone to school.
Now that's true love! And the fact they made the effort to find the daughter they'd given up for adoption is fantastic. Very sweet story. ❤️

Literally the only thing this story has in common with the notebook is the fact that there's a break in their relationships. Every other aspect of the storyline from the notebook has nothing to do with this couple.
Remember this when you see older people. They too were once young, and everyone has a story.
1rewd1 Exactly what I'd like to tell young people. Gosh, I was young and cute too at one time. It goes very fast after thirty, then forty, then fifty, then sixty. Amazing fast.
I love hearing older people's stories - mind, I'm getting to an age where elderly people are my peers lol!
I miss working with the elderly but sadly I am now classed as disabled due to back problems & other issues, but I will always appreciate having the privilege to work with such lovely people 💛
I agree.

@Business Model Don't know about where you are, but round here how you age is usually very soxial class dependant. Working class people are old at 55, the middle class don't get to the same stage til nearly 80. Some exceptions of course, but it does seem a softer life can preserve you better.

Women now call it creepy
@@MacenW It isn't creepy, but the REALITY of this story is that he didn't really love her for 50 years, he simply didn't live life with her, it's something that was a bit in his "mind" wouldn't you say? Had he really wanted to find her, it seems to me that he could have. Just knocking on doors? And, may I add that he was too young to be having sex, no wonder football didn't interest him. Sex makes babies, and these two kids surely knew that, I grew up in the 50's, we weren't imbeciles.
@@LRyan-li9wr I also thought that was strange. If you truly love someone you would keep trying to find them, doesn't matter how many times you fail. The fact that it took 50 years is insane

It is, it's called the notebook lol
Yeah the notebook but 55 years later lol
There is a book that I read as a teen titled "somebody's baby" that could have been written about this story!! Here is a piece of the synopsis:
"by the end of Jenny's senior year in high school, she was pregnant.
It is a movie called Our Son The Matchmaker

The sweet thing is, they both look at each other with young eyes. My parents told me this once. They were HS sweethearts and they don't see the aging...they see their faces as they were young. This is such a beautiful story for this couple.

Jesus loves you so much and I need to tell you that He offers you His Righteousness as a gift He will wash you completely Clean from ALL your sins and wants you to Come to him it says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Meaning the punishment for our sins is Hell Because we are not obedient to God.
It says,
“Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.”
Don’t think it’s not wrong to sin
-because He loves us.

This is proof that parents don't always know what's best, and they make mistakes too. It's also proof that you can be young and still know who and what is right for you. They were both on the same page, eveb though they were young
I love your comment and agree wholeheartedly!
The bottom line is that the parent's did not want to assume respondibility for their dependent child's child. They were well within their rights.

The parents don't look that old either for their age.
Oh wow that is so lovely....I like happy endings 😊
What a beautiful story. Congratulations also xx
