Exactly. Primarily, one only has half the answer to their origins if they were raised only by the biological mother. Also, what about adoptees? Frequently, they don't get the background information about their biological fathers, especially if they were born to drug-addicted mothers. That's why DNA testing sites like "Ancestry," "23andMe," and "My Heritage" are essential. They provide background information about one's parents even if they don't have their DNA. All they need is yours. They can also lead you to your biological relatives. For example, I found out who my natural father was because one of the DNA testing sites connected me to a half-sibling, two of her children, two of my half-brother's (my half-sister's full-brother's) children, and scores of paternal relatives, so the gaps were filled.
I'm 63 years old and I have given up searching for my biological father. It still hurts but I refuse to allow it to interfere with me living my best life. Thanks for sharing her story Steve, I'm not the only one
My story is just about the same as hers... Been looking for my biological father since my high school days. I knew I was adopted (not legally though) by my Mom's Aunt, they let me know the truth during my elementary days... They took care of me since I was a 2 month-old baby. Until last December, I met an Australian vlogger at the market here in our place, the City of Naga Cebu. He posted a vlog about me looking for my Father. He interviewed me on December 27th, uploaded the vlog he recorded of me on New Year's Eve, asking his viewers to help him find my Father. Just an hour after, messages started to come in my inbox and on the comment section of his vlog. A lot of the US servicemen commented that they found him, but sadly just died in November 21st last year and was even buried on my bday Nov. 30th. I cried and cried. I met his side of family, though not his wife and kids. They were so nice to me. I took the Dna test on Ancestry, donated by the viewers, it turned out he wasn't my biological Father. But still, 2 of his siblings were very kind and still treated me like their family... In just two months after I recieved the very saddening Dna result, there was one of my 4 matches on Ancestry whom the vlogger emailed, replied. She asked her Mom if they have a relative who happened to be stationed in Clark Air Base in Pampanga, Philippines way back early 70's... Luckily, my Father, my biological Father, said he was stationed there during that time after the Vietnam War. Now he is 71, very softspoken, humble and camera shy man, my Father is still alive. I was so happy that I cried tears of joy when I read his message and my half sister's message and the message of my Father's cousin... We just made 3 videocalls, Dad and I and after that he requested if we could just excahange emails instead. I did understand him for that. And now, we are in the getting to know each other stage, as Father and daughter. We are slowiy building a new relationship and I am very thankful for my half sibling too, for being so kind, understanding and welcoming.... Plus I now have a new nephew.... I am beyond grateful to God for finally hearing my long time prayer.... God indeed is "GREAT".... Lesson I learned is to never give up hope. I almost lost mine, after finding out that my Dna result was negative and glad that the vlogger and his wife never gave up on my case... So sorry for this very long comment. I just wanted to share this story to people like me, who want nothing else from our Fathers but just to have this missing puzzle solved and finally have closure... This is also for the Amerasian kids here in the Philippines who's been looking for theiir long lost G.I. Dads... There's still hope for us all... Mine took 49 years to finally know who my Dad is... Thank you dear Lord, for everything... And to you Mr. Blair, for being God's instrument in finding my long lost Dad... ❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for sharing your stories, I just feel that my personal story is a bit too complicated for anyone to locate my father. You see, I am a rape baby (my mother seriously had anger carrying me in her belly) to the point she swallowed a whole bottle of turpentine trying to kill me. She treated me so different from her other kids. The relatives all knew but me. I was looked down on as crazy for wanting to just know him and to see if I have other family who might love me. I used to go out my way to try buy my mother's love. I stopped trying almost 2 years now. Tired ., Just want to keep my Peace by staying to myself. My mother knew my father and an relative secretly told me that it was more than one man who raped her during that incident. It was my stepfather's mom who first told me at the age 16, she said to me " your not my son's daughter" in front of all my cousins & aunties in her kitchen on MEMORIAL DAY in 1976. Don't think I'd ever forget that day. I was always an outcast & confused child as to why I was never treated fair like the others. I was nobody's baby. 😢

I dated a girl about 15 years ago when I started working and making some money but I was not ready for anything serious including a child. One day I decided to end my relationship with this lady, crazy part, I dated her for about 4 month and slept with her several times but I did know where she lived. So, I told her it's over between us because I am not ready for a real relationship, man, that girl cried so much that I can't even forget that day and her crying begging me to forgive her and for us to be together, its like it happened yesterday, I can still remember everything. She left my parents house where I use to live, on her way she called me to tell me she was pregnant, I said ok, I will take care of the baby. she hanged up the phone, as I was thinking to myself, I am about to be a father for the first time, I am scared, just at that moment I said to myself, I want to be the best father in the world. In about 5 minutes later, she called me again, she said to me, I" was joking, I am not pregnant". I felt like I was dreaming there and there. She hanged up on me. To cut the story short, she changed numbers, now I can't reach out to her so I can really find out if she is indeed pregnant or just joking as she said, I don't know her friends or family and I don't even know where she lives. Since then, I tried to look for her and failed so many times. I cry almost every year about this issue, I am thinking what if she was not joking and she raised my child alone, I always think about my baby thinking I abandoned her, I say her because I grow up with boy only in my home and always wanted a girl as my first born. Sometimes I think about the craziest of things like, what if she was pregnant and had an abortion. Most of the time I tell myself that she was joking, saying she was pregnant so that we may reconcile and raise the child together. I have forgiven myself, I asked God to forgive me for the way I treated that woman. Sometimes when I am enjoying my money, my blessings in life and a story like this one come up, especially if it's a lady or a girl looking for her father, It messes me up and sometimes I cry because I feel like maybe my child is also looking of me. As crazy as this story is, but it has made me a better man, a better partner and I believed I raised children well. To all the man, please never abandoned or live your babies.
That’s hog sit, only a woman who had a child with a deadbeat man would say “not being the biological father doesn’t make you less of a father” a step dad could never compare to the true love of a biological father. And only step dad that neglect their biological children to be step dad’s for another woman’s child would feel different. Hey step dad’s try to discipline that child every day and see what the mother reacts lol smh. Biological father that are there with true love can never be replace but often imitated with limitations, you can have the woman 😂 yeah I went in on this one!
Ella - as the adoptive father of 2 boys, thank you for saying that. I love my boys like nothing else and cannot imagine feeling any different were it my DNA that made them.
My granddad found out he had a son who was 56 yrs old. My uncle’s mom gave a death bed confession and he went looking for my grandad. My uncle, who is now 80, looks exactly like my granddad so they didn’t take a DNA test. He’s literally the spitting image of him. My granddad passed from cancer a year later so it was great they got to spend time together.
@@mhalablel5397No. His mom. He’s the oldest child and has a different mom than my mom and her siblings. No one knew about him (my uncle) until many many years later.
Thank you Steve for helping this young lady find her biological father so she can find out who she is & where she came from. I've been in her shoes. I found out accidentally when I was 9 years old that the good, wonderful man raising me was not my biological father and that my Mother had been married before & my biological father & my Mom split up when she was pregnant with me. My Daddy is the man who stepped up & adopted me & my sister and I could not have had a better father than him, but I knew I was nothing like my sisters or my parents and I just wanted to know him & see if I was anything like him. My Mom didn't even want to discuss him with me. She said "you've got a Daddy. Get over it". I meant no disrespect to my parents that raised me, but still wanted to know this man. I made alot of mistakes over the years trying to get this man to just talk to me, so I understand how this young lady feels. I'm praying she gets the answers she is looking for. I finally talked to my biological father & found out he had a history of mental illness and had other kids besides me & my sister that he did not claim either. He committed suicide in 2011.
YOU ARE NOT A MISTAKE AT ALL💯💯 you are a beautiful soul; and only beautiful souls search for their missing ones ....God bless you, and Almighty will help you to satisfy you heart desires🙏🙏🙏
My heart goes out to this young lady. Although, I know who my father is, he's still not in my life and I'm 43 years old with adult sons. It used to hurt really bad growing up and until about 4 years ago before therapy and a lot of self-love. I was in contact with his side of the family for years thanks to my cousin Kisha whom I met in the 9th grade; It took a child to start bringing me around as if everyone doesn't know everyone from our small a** island. What hurt the most was that my mother was battling cancer and heart issues and they STILL didn't check on me! Plus, he was raising SOMEONE ELSE CHILDREN with his new wife. What turned the table for me was every time I would hang out with them; there was some kind of drama among the family members, EVERY SINGLE TIME but this time I had it! I learned from therapy to set boundaries, I hung everyone, especially my cousin Kisha but I knew that it would be the last time hanging out with them because it was too draining. I drove back home, cities away. I started washing dishes to calm my nerves, I heard a voice say, "You see that's why I did what I did." I immediately began to weep for the child in me because I knew it was God telling me that I was saved from what I would have become being raised by or growing up with his family, I for sure wouldn't be who I am and where I am today. I couldn't do anything but praise God because I finally saw the brokenness, alcoholism, drug abuse, mental illness, and more. In that moment I forgave my father and the adults of the family for their neglect and thanked them in that moment for not being there. I wrote a letter to my father, burnt it, and said a prayer. That was the last time, I would cry about his absence. He missed out because babyyyyy I'm a whole blessing!
My story is somewhat different. My mother never told me nor my father. She went to her grave without telling either one of us. However, the funeral home that had my mother’s remains also had the remains of another man at the same time. While finalizing everything for my mother’s burial, a man was there to sit with his uncle. My grandmother not knowing anything, because my mother didn’t tell her mother who my father was she didn’t know when she introduced me to the man in the other room. We shook hands and time stood still. It was at that moment that I met my father. Unfortunately, he rejected me. I pray her story is better than mine.
@@nalahbaer8290 at the moment of human contact, nobody had to tell me who he was. I’ve made human contact with hundreds of men and have never experienced what I did that day. Furthermore, following that day one of his sisters confirmed that their mother told her sons many years prior that one of them had a baby outside of marriages. Unbeknownst to me, she had a picture of me sitting on her lap. When I was a little girl, my babysitter would take me to her house not knowing our connection. At my mothers funeral, my grandmother asked my mother’s best friend (as it turns out my mother did tell someone) who my father was, and she confirmed it was the man I met the funeral home.
I remember watching this I, cried then and now I'm tearing up again. I've been searching for a long time for my birth parents, and from the maternal side just constant rejection. However, on both sides not many know because they are are super distant cousins.
Gods arms always open… you can join his family as an adopted child. He will never reject you or harm you. God bless and God loves YOU Tomajenero…. The cross is His evidence of how much he loves you
I'm 56 years old and I'm in the same spot as that young lady, and my father has denied that I exist to himself and his family. So now at 56 years old I'm trying to let all that go. Good luck to the young lady God bless and don't let that stop you from living your best life.😊😊😊
I love the perspective that Spirit was able to provide, although I think for people who do not know who their father is and have that longing to, that it's a curiosity that simply cannot be shaken. I am hopeful that she does continue to look for her father, but that she also does as the Attorney suggested and manages her expectations in such a way that she doesn't let his absence or her lifelong curiosity to interfere with her living and embracing the life that she now has as a woman and a mother. Best of wishes for her.
I never meet my parents born&raised in Philly. I was told my mom was a street lady and my dad was some trick. I was raised by my mom&dad who the lady just gave to in the neighborhood. My parents passed away so never really talked about it. Til this day I still haven’t meet or know my biological parents. This young lady is lucky to have professionals help her💕
Everyone created was meant for a purpose. It's as simple as that. It doesn't matter who your parents are, for they are just surrogates. DNA says you come from them, but in reality they come from other people too. We all descend from one, an original. You deserve the best, but you won't get the best. You'll get what you get. The wonderful thing about community is that you get to observe parts that mirror you and parts that challenge you and show you what you can achieve. Understanding the limits of your parents and community should inspire you to be better. But you cannot be better until you understand why your parents weren't able to give you the childhood you desire. Not all life lessons come from direct teaching. Most of life is learned through missteps and fails.
Steve is right , The mother is the one that has to help and try to find the father. It is the mothers fault to not want her daughter to know her real father.
This was an emotional Story to see from the audience, especially if I live in Germany and had the chance 4 years ago to be there in the last show from Steve Harvey. I hope this beautiful lady has had an awesome relationship since then with her biological father. Steve Harvey your the best
She found him!! Type in Taylor, Steve Harvey, father and the vid should come up. Apparently he was very receptive and accepting of her. Ending well for her.
Her problems run much deeper if her Momma did her dirty like that. To have been with so many men that could potentially be her Dad is really awful and then not to upfront about her bio-Dad as soon as she was old enough.....really horrible that she was lead to believe it was another guy. Your Mom clearly has issues so I hope for your sake that your bio-Dad has less. You seem like a lovely young lady and she be proud of yourself regardless 😊
Bad things happen to people, and sometimes big mistakes are made. We all do the best that we can. Sometimes poor choices are made. For example, her mother could have been a victim of sexual assault and has no idea how to even tell her daughter that for fear of hurting her more.. This is a horrible example, but many things could have happened.
I feel her pain. My mother refused to let me know who my Father was/ is. She would lie and say this person is your daddy or that person is your daddy and when it comes to the truth they wasn't. I've been on this earth for 42 years and don't know who my Father is. And it hurts not knowing.
I feel that this is what I didn't want for my son. His biological father isn't what I ever expected. I have been open and transparent with my son's father
If you've been open to him and he's been told the truth and he hasn't stepped up then it's on him. You did all you can do. But a lot of women intentionally keep their child away from their dad. This girls mother definitely did that and still dont want to help her daughter find her real father. The mother was sleeping with 3+ guys so of course that guy would ignore her calls especially if she's saying she's pregnant etc. He knows shes sleeping around. That's if she actually tried to call him which I dont think she did. She probably wanted the guy who was around but wasn't her dad so the mom acted as if he was her daughter's dad.
I went to graduate school and earned the william d ford plus loan. I wanted my real dad to have some money. I immediately went to the post office and mailed $625.00 this was my best.❤
The man doesn't want to acknowledge her. Maybe he didn't really Date her Mum or maybe it's a relationship he regrets. Her Mum knows the truth. She may have led a reckless life . No one wants to be a scapegoat.
Steve Harvey is doing exactly who he's known to be he's making this young lady this lady now accountable for this man's feelings and his reaction she doesn't need to disarm him he's older than her and potentially her father it's not her job too emotionally do anything for him it's actually vice-versa and if at his age he's going to run from responsibility she needs to see that too and not try to Shield him
Damn didnt expect Steve to get so deep after starting off with " Ask yo momma to do it". Good for him for making her feel good about herself, seems like a good girl.
Her mom doesn't want to help her because she doesn't know either! Sounds like she was escorting at a resort or just a thot. Either way, I feel extremely sad for this young woman. It's a shame she had to grow up feeling unwanted . I pray that she finds her father and he embraces her with open arms
Her mother is a weak a$$ 🛌wench who dumped this tragic mulatto situation in/on the black sector/community claiming herself as a black person. The confusion that mixing causes is evident. This is why we need to define black as having 2 blk parents so that mixed breeds cant claim blk
No wonder there is a tik tok video by a woman who wants to sue her parents for bringing her into this world without her permission. I thought that woman was crazy but after watching this I rest my case. Sad story.
If you're a big true crime person, you'll know that Cece Moore is a GOAT in DNA and genealogy that helped solve many cold cases with her knowledge and investigations of DNA.
“YOU ARE NOT A MISTAKE “ . Thank you STEVE !!

There are so many flaws in your story, proves you're making stories.
I’ve read your story to the end brendeni, sorry for what happened to you man

She is beautiful ❤
Beautifully spoken. Praise God for those words spoken from S.
That’s the same thing I thought, starting with a letter! Perfect beginning! 🎯
Anybody should be thrilled and grateful to learn that such a beautiful, intelligent young lady is their daughter.
Thank you Steve for those kind words to the young lady.
Being a real father isn't in the DNA, it's in the heart ❤ not being a biological doesn't make you any less of a father..
exactly. sometimes the father that isn't in the dna, and yes a dna doesn't make you a father
@@philgrimsey3637 Wish you the best of luck!!!
Ok mamma's girl that why your father left you 😂
My granddad found out he had a son who was 56 yrs old. My uncle’s mom gave a death bed confession and he went looking for my grandad. My uncle, who is now 80, looks exactly like my granddad so they didn’t take a DNA test. He’s literally the spitting image of him.
My granddad passed from cancer a year later so it was great they got to spend time together.
uncle's mom? you mean your grandma?
@@mhalablel5397No. His mom. He’s the oldest child and has a different mom than my mom and her siblings. No one knew about him (my uncle) until many many years later.
God bless you forever & ever.
This is very kind of Mr. Harvey! I like this guy!
She is really beautiful .. both inside and out .. I hope she finds what she needs.
I totally agree, with Mr. STEVE HARVEY, she's a blessing, from our ETERNAL PARENT'S.
Praying for you beautiful! God bless your heart. ❤🙏🏽

The bottom line is that you were able to get some form of closure. May his soul rest in peace 🙏

This 🙌🏼 listened to it twice 🤍
Than you for sharing your story. It ministered to me powerfully. God loves you dearly. Very dearly. And I love you too!
But how did you know that he was your father?
@@terrilynwoodfin8980thank you for sharing your story. i wish you’re doing well in life ❤
My heart breaks for her. I hope she finds her father. ❤

I hope we get updates!
This young lady is lucky to have professionals help her💕
Thank you Steve for giving her the truth.

I really miss The Steve Harvey show.☹️
AMEN ! All babies are a gift from GOD.Bless this young woman 🙏And you Steve ❤️
🙏
❤AMEN ❤❤❤❤
I don't think everyone has a purpose. We just kind of procreate but I don't think there's some higher purpose to us existing or anything
Steve is right , The mother is the one that has to help and try to find the father. It is the mothers fault to not want her daughter to know her real father.
Thank you. Wherever you are Mr. Steve Harvey. I needed those words❤
Steve is right, her mother is the fittest person to help her with this.
Her mother sounds like a piece of work! Why keep this information from your child who didn't ask to be in this situation
This was an emotional Story to see from the audience, especially if I live in Germany and had the chance 4 years ago to be there in the last show from Steve Harvey. I hope this beautiful lady has had an awesome relationship since then with her biological father. Steve Harvey your the best
Mr Harvey you are a blessing to a lot of people ❤ l thank God for you🙏🙏🙏
I wish that I could hug her.
I don't understand people😢. How can you not love your child
Unfortunately just because people may have kids does not mean they automatically love them
He’s white, that’s y.
He wasn’t the father
I need part III 😌 because I need to know if she found her father...
She found him!! Type in Taylor, Steve Harvey, father and the vid should come up. Apparently he was very receptive and accepting of her. Ending well for her.
@@ms.t3039 thanks 😊
Don't chase no dude that Don't want you..what don't kill you makes you strronger..Tell him to kick rocks and keep it pushin👌🏿
I love uncle Steve so much!
It could also be a disappointment to find out. Your mom should have been honest with you non the less.
i’m so sorry that had happened to you 💔
❤🌺
Amen I totally agree with them ❤️🤙🏾 Good luck I hope she finds the dude
Steve thanks for this interview
Steve, this man knows a child exists. She said her mother told him and he changed his number.
@@865style yes that is so true
So did she ever fine her dad, I just want to know I'm praying for her ❤

I'm in the same boat it's just about filling in gaps and knowing where and who you come from.
If I was adopted , I would not want to meet them I would go on and live my life 🙏🏽
That's my brain too
Just because a child is given up for adoption doesn’t mean they weren’t wanted.
You haven’t been adopted so you really don’t know that.
It sounds easy, ain’t it? In reality, it is not

Wow she is so fine !! I can relate to Taylor and her need for belonging.
Thank Gid for the the technology of DNA today
The fact that he changed his number is enough for me to know not even to look for that man.
The man doesn't want to acknowledge her. Maybe he didn't really Date her Mum or maybe it's a relationship he regrets. Her Mum knows the truth. She may have led a reckless life . No one wants to be a scapegoat.
Wait wait, he was there creating the baby too. Why was she reckless when he slept with her too. That would make both of them reckless.
Wow! Happy for her 🙏🏾
Classy, beautiful young woman. My goodness, if I was your father I would have claimed you on the spot! Best wishes!
Steve Harvey is doing exactly who he's known to be he's making this young lady this lady now accountable for this man's feelings and his reaction she doesn't need to disarm him he's older than her and potentially her father it's not her job too emotionally do anything for him it's actually vice-versa and if at his age he's going to run from responsibility she needs to see that too and not try to Shield him
Thanks for the likes and your comment over my post, thanks for being a fan of mine 🥰

It's not disrespectful to tell someone they may have a child they don't know about. It can be alarming, but it has nothing to do with disrespect.
She’s fortunate to have the support she has.
Damn didnt expect Steve to get so deep after starting off with " Ask yo momma to do it". Good for him for making her feel good about herself, seems like a good girl.
Beautiful girl. Heart 💗 hurting.
