@teddyjam8134 It's understandable that you feel that way, but I believe everyone has value and deserves to be treated with kindness and respect. We all have unique experiences and challenges, and it's important to remember that we don't always know what someone else is going through.

Exactly. Primarily, one only has half the answer to their origins if they were raised only by the biological mother. Also, what about adoptees? Frequently, they don't get the background information about their biological fathers, especially if they were born to drug-addicted mothers. That's why DNA testing sites like "Ancestry," "23andMe," and "My Heritage" are essential. They provide background information about one's parents even if they don't have their DNA. All they need is yours.
They can also lead you to your biological relatives. For example, I found out who my natural father was because one of the DNA testing sites connected me to a half-sibling, two of her children, two of my half-brother's (my half-sister's full-brother's) children, and scores of paternal relatives, so the gaps were filled.

My story is just about the same as hers... Been looking for my biological father since my high school days. I knew I was adopted (not legally though) by my Mom's Aunt, they let me know the truth during my elementary days... They took care of me since I was a 2 month-old baby. Until last December, I met an Australian vlogger at the market here in our place, the City of Naga Cebu. He posted a vlog about me looking for my Father. He interviewed me on December 27th, uploaded the vlog he recorded of me on New Year's Eve, asking his viewers to help him find my Father. Just an hour after, messages started to come in my inbox and on the comment section of his vlog. A lot of the US servicemen commented that they found him, but sadly just died in November 21st last year and was even buried on my bday Nov. 30th. I cried and cried. I met his side of family, though not his wife and kids. They were so nice to me. I took the Dna test on Ancestry, donated by the viewers, it turned out he wasn't my biological Father. But still, 2 of his siblings were very kind and still treated me like their family... In just two months after I recieved the very saddening Dna result, there was one of my 4 matches on Ancestry whom the vlogger emailed, replied. She asked her Mom if they have a relative who happened to be stationed in Clark Air Base in Pampanga, Philippines way back early 70's... Luckily, my Father, my biological Father, said he was stationed there during that time after the Vietnam War. Now he is 71, very softspoken, humble and camera shy man, my Father is still alive. I was so happy that I cried tears of joy when I read his message and my half sister's message and the message of my Father's cousin... We just made 3 videocalls, Dad and I and after that he requested if we could just excahange emails instead. I did understand him for that. And now, we are in the getting to know each other stage, as Father and daughter. We are slowiy building a new relationship and I am very thankful for my half sibling too, for being so kind, understanding and welcoming.... Plus I now have a new nephew.... I am beyond grateful to God for finally hearing my long time prayer.... God indeed is "GREAT".... Lesson I learned is to never give up hope. I almost lost mine, after finding out that my Dna result was negative and glad that the vlogger and his wife never gave up on my case... So sorry for this very long comment. I just wanted to share this story to people like me, who want nothing else from our Fathers but just to have this missing puzzle solved and finally have closure... This is also for the Amerasian kids here in the Philippines who's been looking for theiir long lost G.I. Dads... There's still hope for us all... Mine took 49 years to finally know who my Dad is... Thank you dear Lord, for everything... And to you Mr. Blair, for being God's instrument in finding my long lost Dad... ❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏

Thanks for sharing your stories, I just feel that my personal story is a bit too complicated for anyone to locate my father. You see, I am a rape baby (my mother seriously had anger carrying me in her belly) to the point she swallowed a whole bottle of turpentine trying to kill me. She treated me so different from her other kids. The relatives all knew but me. I was looked down on as crazy for wanting to just know him and to see if I have other family who might love me. I used to go out my way to try buy my mother's love. I stopped trying almost 2 years now. Tired ., Just want to keep my Peace by staying to myself. My mother knew my father and an relative secretly told me that it was more than one man who raped her during that incident. It was my stepfather's mom who first told me at the age 16, she said to me " your not my son's daughter" in front of all my cousins & aunties in her kitchen on MEMORIAL DAY in 1976. Don't think I'd ever forget that day. I was always an outcast & confused child as to why I was never treated fair like the others. I was nobody's baby. 😢

@@paperdollartzgeniuz3911 Nobody's baby. I know that feeling. My experience is similar to yours. I wasn't a rape baby. My mother had 3 older children when I was born. Until I was in my late 20's I thought their father was mine. I always wondered what I did to make him treat me like I wasn't there, and I also wondered why my mother treated me differently than she did my brothers and sister. I know the same hurt of having someone tell me I don't belong. I am in my late 60's now , and though I don't feel that same hurt it still sometimes bothers me. I also was that outcast , confused person. It really took a toll.

I dated a girl about 15 years ago when I started working and making some money but I was not ready for anything serious including a child. One day I decided to end my relationship with this lady, crazy part, I dated her for about 4 month and slept with her several times but I did know where she lived. So, I told her it's over between us because I am not ready for a real relationship, man, that girl cried so much that I can't even forget that day and her crying begging me to forgive her and for us to be together, its like it happened yesterday, I can still remember everything. She left my parents house where I use to live, on her way she called me to tell me she was pregnant, I said ok, I will take care of the baby. she hanged up the phone, as I was thinking to myself, I am about to be a father for the first time, I am scared, just at that moment I said to myself, I want to be the best father in the world. In about 5 minutes later, she called me again, she said to me, I" was joking, I am not pregnant". I felt like I was dreaming there and there. She hanged up on me. To cut the story short, she changed numbers, now I can't reach out to her so I can really find out if she is indeed pregnant or just joking as she said, I don't know her friends or family and I don't even know where she lives. Since then, I tried to look for her and failed so many times. I cry almost every year about this issue, I am thinking what if she was not joking and she raised my child alone, I always think about my baby thinking I abandoned her, I say her because I grow up with boy only in my home and always wanted a girl as my first born. Sometimes I think about the craziest of things like, what if she was pregnant and had an abortion. Most of the time I tell myself that she was joking, saying she was pregnant so that we may reconcile and raise the child together. I have forgiven myself, I asked God to forgive me for the way I treated that woman. Sometimes when I am enjoying my money, my blessings in life and a story like this one come up, especially if it's a lady or a girl looking for her father, It messes me up and sometimes I cry because I feel like maybe my child is also looking of me. As crazy as this story is, but it has made me a better man, a better partner and I believed I raised children well. To all the man, please never abandoned or live your babies.

Thank you Steve for helping this young lady find her biological father so she can find out who she is & where she came from. I've been in her shoes. I found out accidentally when I was 9 years old that the good, wonderful man raising me was not my biological father and that my Mother had been married before & my biological father & my Mom split up when she was pregnant with me. My Daddy is the man who stepped up & adopted me & my sister and I could not have had a better father than him, but I knew I was nothing like my sisters or my parents and I just wanted to know him & see if I was anything like him. My Mom didn't even want to discuss him with me. She said "you've got a Daddy. Get over it". I meant no disrespect to my parents that raised me, but still wanted to know this man. I made alot of mistakes over the years trying to get this man to just talk to me, so I understand how this young lady feels. I'm praying she gets the answers she is looking for. I finally talked to my biological father & found out he had a history of mental illness and had other kids besides me & my sister that he did not claim either. He committed suicide in 2011.

My heart goes out to this young lady. Although, I know who my father is, he's still not in my life and I'm 43 years old with adult sons. It used to hurt really bad growing up and until about 4 years ago before therapy and a lot of self-love. I was in contact with his side of the family for years thanks to my cousin Kisha whom I met in the 9th grade; It took a child to start bringing me around as if everyone doesn't know everyone from our small a** island. What hurt the most was that my mother was battling cancer and heart issues and they STILL didn't check on me! Plus, he was raising SOMEONE ELSE CHILDREN with his new wife.
What turned the table for me was every time I would hang out with them; there was some kind of drama among the family members, EVERY SINGLE TIME but this time I had it! I learned from therapy to set boundaries, I hung everyone, especially my cousin Kisha but I knew that it would be the last time hanging out with them because it was too draining.
I drove back home, cities away. I started washing dishes to calm my nerves, I heard a voice say, "You see that's why I did what I did." I immediately began to weep for the child in me because I knew it was God telling me that I was saved from what I would have become being raised by or growing up with his family, I for sure wouldn't be who I am and where I am today. I couldn't do anything but praise God because I finally saw the brokenness, alcoholism, drug abuse, mental illness, and more. In that moment I forgave my father and the adults of the family for their neglect and thanked them in that moment for not being there. I wrote a letter to my father, burnt it, and said a prayer. That was the last time, I would cry about his absence. He missed out because babyyyyy I'm a whole blessing!

However, the funeral home that had my mother’s remains also had the remains of another man at the same time. While finalizing everything for my mother’s burial, a man was there to sit with his uncle. My grandmother not knowing anything, because my mother didn’t tell her mother who my father was she didn’t know when she introduced me to the man in the other room. We shook hands and time stood still. It was at that moment that I met my father. Unfortunately, he rejected me. I pray her story is better than mine.

Unbeknownst to me, she had a picture of me sitting on her lap. When I was a little girl, my babysitter would take me to her house not knowing our connection. I love the perspective that Spirit was able to provide, although I think for people who do not know who their father is and have that longing to, that it's a curiosity that simply cannot be shaken. I am hopeful that she does continue to look for her father, but that she also does as the Attorney suggested and manages her expectations in such a way that she doesn't let his absence or her lifelong curiosity to interfere with her living and embracing the life that she now has as a woman and a mother. Best of wishes for her.

My parents passed away so never really talked about it. Til this day I still haven’t meet or know my biological parents. This young lady is lucky to have professionals help her💕

Everyone created was meant for a purpose. It's as simple as that. It doesn't matter who your parents are, for they are just surrogates. DNA says you come from them, but in reality they come from other people too. We all descend from one, an original. You deserve the best, but you won't get the best. You'll get what you get. The wonderful thing about community is that you get to observe parts that mirror you and parts that challenge you and show you what you can achieve.
Understanding the limits of your parents and community should inspire you to be better. But you cannot be better until you understand why your parents weren't able to give you the childhood you desire. Not all life lessons come from direct teaching. Most of life is learned through missteps and fails.

Your Mom clearly has issues so I hope for your sake that your bio-Dad has less.

Bad things happen to people, and sometimes big mistakes are made. We all do the best that we can. Sometimes poor choices are made.
For example, her mother could have been a victim of sexual assault and has no idea how to even tell her daughter that for fear of hurting her more.. This is a horrible example, but many things could have happened.

If you've been open to him and he's been told the truth and he hasn't stepped up then it's on him. You did all you can do. But a lot of women intentionally keep their child away from their dad. This girls mother definitely did that and still dont want to help her daughter find her real father. The mother was sleeping with 3+ guys so of course that guy would ignore her calls especially if she's saying she's pregnant etc. He knows shes sleeping around. That's if she actually tried to call him which I dont think she did. She probably wanted the guy who was around but wasn't her dad so the mom acted as if he was her daughter's dad.
