Best one ever. Former MLB catcher A.J. Pierzynski retold the story of the best ejection in MLB history. Back when Pierzynski was with the Red Sox in 2014, he asked umpire Quinn Wolcott for a new ball after a walk despite none of the previous pitches hitting the ground. That led to the following exchange: Pierzynski: Excuse me, can I have a new ball? Wolcott: For what? Pierzynski: One you can see. Ejected. The Red Sox Manager had no idea why.
Umpires need to be held accountable for their actions as well. They blow calls and they never admit it and they think they are gods out there and no one can touch them at all.
You say ‘they blow calls’ like they do it deliberately. I’m sure that if umpires consistently make mistakes their performance is addressed and, ultimately, they won’t be selected. That’s just the same as a player having a bad run. So how do you know they’re not held accountable? Blowing a call or even having one bad game doesn’t make them a bad umpire. They’re human beings.
This comment is mostly untrue. Video review is allowed, and it is important for umpires not to need to question their calls all the time. Official MLB rules even say that no umpire shall contradict or criticize another umpire's call.
@@andrewtaylor5695 Some of them are humans with god complexes. There have been many umpires who have had very bad reputations over the decades. I give you Angel Hernandez. Just look him up and you will see a horrible "umpire".
This seems to have taken a lot of work but it doesn’t mesh well. You have too many cutaways so you don’t know who is being ejected. You should show the play show interaction between the umpire and the coach or the player and have the umpire eject whomever he has to. There is no flow so it’s very hard to follow sorry about the constructive criticism.
Every officiating crew should have a midget umpire. When a player gets tossed, the home plate umpire signals the midget and the midget runs out onto the field and gives the big arm wave... Like a Bill Veeck thing...he did a lot of crazy stuff back in the day...
I notice on some of the strike three calls the catcher has to reach out of the strike zone to catch the pitch. That's a clue. We all make mistakes. Some of these catchers are fantastic at framing pitches. Then there's the problem of calling a pitch too early, like before the catcher even catches the pitch. Easy to do Requires a great amount of concentration to get every pitch right.
I'd like to see some of the old classic ejection-meltdowns, a la Lou Piniella or Earl Weaver. If you're gonna get tossed from a game, at least get your money's worth -- and make it entertaining.
I used to love watching baseball when I was a kid. Haven't watched a single game in nearly 30 yrs now. Probably the biggest reason is because of umpires making bad calls.
You fucking sorry ass-hats can't watch a video without an explanation? Want captions in crayon font too? Every call (right/wrong), I saw with my eyes and didn't need a fucking slow motion break down. Fucking crybabies
For a bunch of guys that make way more than most sure act like a bunch of babies. Might be frustrating but to throw your helmet and bat over a call is a bit childish.
Not well done at all. Best ejections? Based on what? Seems to me as if you're just taking every single ejection in the last couple of years and throwing them together. Some of these ejections don't even show what they are being ejected for or the build up to the ejection.
These are ejections because they all are posing a threat to the players and the umps. That's why they're the best ejections. That's why you dont argue with the pros.
You can’t take those close pitches. Some were good pitches on the corner. You can’t sit there with the bat on your shoulder and expect to hit the ball. Walks are good, but some of those close pitches are just too close to take.
Those umps need to ALWAYS call on a colleague for a close call. These must have been before replay because 80% of the spot calls (not B/S) are missed. And those called strikes hitting in the middle of the opposite side batter’s box should be overruled by 2B umpire!
Some questions: During a season is there ever a umpire ejected by mlb for doing a awfull job? When players stop are there that become an umpire? Can an umpire recall an ejection? Why do the umps have such short toes?
- I wonder if there’s a review team, to which managers can file complaints.. - In modern times, no umpires have been ex-players. - Ejections (& presumably all calls) are irreversible!! - so they can make all the umpire moves.
I love it when the managers get in the faces of the umpires. I get real excited about that. I also love it when the umpires eject a player or manager. I can even hear the umpires saying get outta here.
@Colin Rist I used simple words, easy grammar, a simple concept but repetition seems to work best at a basic level.Sports friend: Your tantrum seems appropriate but I doubt you make 6 figures and work only 6 months a year.
Clint Hurdle and Joe Girardi know their strike zones better then these 75 year old retirees MLB has these days. Throw me outta the game for being honest
There needs to be a third-party group not connected to the teams or the refs independent of MLB that holds umpires accountable for repeated bad calls and for throwing players and managers out for little to no reason. That one clip of the umpire yelling at the player, all up in his face, who then throws him out is the most egregious. That was inexcusable behavior by an umpire. He should have received a fine and suspension.
Back in the college ball days, Umpires that showed their asses got destroyed. See Umpires are a part of the field. Slipped pitch, bats fly outta hands, they just get in the way.

Umpires need to be held accountable for their actions as well. They blow calls and they never admit it and they think they are gods out there and no one can touch them at all.
Certain umpires have admitted their mistakes in the past. Most notably in the game were an umpire blew a call that ruined a pitchers no hitter

I love watching the managers getting thrown out after chewing the ump out for tossing their player. It's like a Captain going down with his ship. lmao
Very interesting thumbnail 🤣🤣🤣
WOW...these videos were all over the place!!
Best part of baseball today, the toss. Love it.
Best ejections? Or just some ejections?
That umpire Egyptian head movement at 1:26 tho. Serious skeelz
Damn, Matheney sure does like the locker room
You notice it’s usually the same umpires doing it
Umpires have way too much authority
Makes the sport entertaining. 👍🏻👍🏻
It already is, your just not a fan, bye now👋🏻
I dont know even the rules of the Baseball, but its pretty funny see the ejections in professional sports
No one could get ejected better than Lou Piniella, he turned it into an art form :-)
Piniella was great, but if you're old enough to remember Earl Weaver, he was truly the master.

Umpires are given way to much leeway to throwing people out. They are the worst officials in sports.

So nice that umpires bad judgement gets to decide the outcomes
in 23 years of his MLB career STAN THE MAN MUSIAL was never ejected.
The reds coach looked pretty damm calm to me

Poorly edited, no buildup/explanation for the ejections - some almost seem to come out of left field
Zarkow my comment was going to be without context most throwouts make no sense so this vid kinda sucked.

When did umps become so delicate? "See that I blew a call? Now you know I've got to throw you out to cover myself."
The cuts are too fast. We can't tell what is happening in many of these.
So much anger, so many bad calls, so little time!
These umps are on some sort of power trip
Another few years and umpires are going to history.
Nice edit job, guy.
You're outta here!
I know this is a kind of a tradition in Baseball, but did these kind of "discussions" lead to a better call?

The last game I attended.... the Umpires were out of control.... never spend another dime to watch the black suits control who will win the games.
The umpires should just shut up.... the video shows they miss half of their calls.
Umpires have too much power with elections. Throwing out a coach, pitcher, and catcher within 3 seconds is absurd.
Carpenter bro that was a strike 😂
You should do a video of umpires letting the players/coaches yell for way too long and not tossing them out. Oh right, that doesn't happen. Lol
0:50 what is Matt carpenter complaining about it was literally down the middle
these umpires need a nap... seriously. 😒
remember when the umpires were actually animated when they threw people out? these clowns look like they are swooshing away a fly

i like how the managers are talking to the refs like a man and the ref throws them out
True, but you have no idea what they're saying.
So what they are ejected. What reproductions are in place to make them stay in the game?
How do you not end on that triple ejection!?!
