Just a reminder that fans attend games to see the PLAYERS not the umpires. If you’re going to hold players to such high expectations, their on field counterparts need to be held to the same standards. An umpire screws up, he’s held accountable just like a player. A player doesn’t touch an umpire, an umpire doesn’t touch a player. A player doesn’t point at an umpire, an umpire doesn’t point at a player. Although I will admit there were a few instances that I liked where the player did something wrong and he’s not even arguing it. He’s got that look of “that’s right, I did that. @@jeffkerr7418 nope not ego. you should look up MLB rules sometime. most of these are equipment violations, arguing balls and strikes, showing up the umpire (showing where the strike zone is by drawing on the ground is ejectable look it up) as well as chirping at the umpire from the dugout. all ejectable offences. I even noticed a few catchers who were lucky they did not get ejected for touching the umpire.
If you point to where the pitch was and you get thrown out of the game , you should be able to demand a replay and if the pitch was where you pointed, the ump gets thrown out .

I know that being an umpire is difficult (but they choose the career) and these clips can't show everything that preceded the ejections but it seems to me that some of these umpires are a little bit "thin skinned".

I read a story where in either 1981 or 1983 when Angel was an A ball rookie umpire in Florida, he was jumped by two drunk angry fans for his bad performance and beaten. The damage resulted in 35% vision loss in one eye. He literally can’t see the low corners. He sued and the settlement out of court in 1986 was a job for life/until retirement.
You know, it's really funny. You don't have a lot of other major league sports that have notorious referees or empires that most fans know by name. This doesn't speak well for major league baseball because of the fact that the umps Make questionable calls and there is no one to check them.
