Thank you! There's a ton to talk about with putting, I'm actually planning a full video about putting practice and consistency, hopefully dropping soon! The basics for me are: 1. practice often to build consistency. I know roughly how likely I am to make a putt based on how far away I am, and that helps me have confidence and also accept a couple of missed putts because I know I don't hit the putt 100% of the time. 2. Warm up putting before a round, particularly tournament rounds. I usually spend 30 minutes putting before a tournament round. Sometimes I need to figure out my putt for that day, because it's not quite comfortable, or it's a bit windy etc. 3. Run through a short checklist before each putt (like 10 seconds). I like to identify distractions like noise and people walking across the park, and intentionally ignore them. I like to make sure I'm holding my disc the same every time, and that my feet are planted correctly and firmly. I wipe dirt off the disc or dry my hand. I pick an aim point on the basket, sometimes a single chain or the band if it's a long putt with a tailwind, stuff like that. Then once I'm done with the checklist, I putt. I don't like standing there waiting to putt once I'm "ready", it makes me wonder if I'll miss lol. Those are a few things that really work for me and help keep me focused and consistent, I hope they help!
I’ve been playing awhile but you’re way better than me, so who am I to give you advice. Obviously you love the turnover game, but a few of your shots would benefit from more stable disc selection. Hole 2 approach, hole 4 drive, hole 7 drive, off the top of my head. The release angles have to be perfect in the long turnover game. Just my thoughts after watching this. Like I said you’re pretty decent so keep up the good work. I like the nose up Annie stable approach shots so we just have different styles I think.
@Jparker941 We definitely will have differences in what we prefer! It's interesting because in the middle of the round, I made some changes based on those 3 mistakes you noticed. Part of my problem was exactly what you mention, I was throwing the Shryke without enough hyzer, and flipping it too much on both 4 and 7. I've thrown too stable on both holes and really struggled to scramble from early left, so my play has been to err on the side of too flippy. But after the mistakes on 4 and 7, I switched my plan on 8 and went with the flex shot instead of the hyzer flip up with my Valkyrie which is my normal plan. Then I switched to my Enigma on 9 instead of my Shryke, which I normally try to flip up to flat toward the short pin, then skip left. I also went with my Brave on 12 and threw a bit more flat, rather than the flip up shot down the middle with my Shryke, although that still needed to get lucky for me to get the birdie! I also changed my upshot disc choice after what happened on 2, and on 15 I threw my Pixel to avoid it turning with my angle of release. Unfortunately I gave it too much anny though and basically ended up with the exact same scenario 🙃 It's interesting how certain things work great one day, maybe even for a long time, then suddenly it's a struggle and you can't quite trust it to be consistent! I definitely do lean toward the flip up shots for hitting accurate lines, but I'm working on practicing flex shots as well to add more consistency and variety to my game. I'm sure one day soon you'll notice a few more stable choices on some of these holes!
Great work man!!!
Thank you!!
Love it! Congrats on the win! Yet another solid video - looking forward to more like it.
@afterburn2600 Thank you!! Glad you're enjoying them!
Love the put. Do you have any tips for someone in MA4 with putting. (Form wise or what you practice or even what you think about while putting)
