@15:55 Simon's reactions to Jussi's response is touching. You can tell he is getting choked up and that relationship between a boss and "employee" is special.
Simon is so humble he has no clue why fans love him. It's who you are as a person, not just the fact you're an elite series pro disc golfer. You have a fun spirit that makes watching you fun. Even if it's a double/triple bogey. The fun is still there and it rubs off on to the fans. I started playing disc golf 2 years ago as a way to go out and have fun with my sons. No negative energy, bad shots, good shots, laugh at the tees the trees and the baskets. Simon is the epitome of that energy.
Boss: "Now you shank it to the right..." Boss, on a different hole: "So you didn't get to the ladies tee?" B, diff hole: "What were you thinking?" B: "Tyyni (tournament) was you your worst finish of the season, right?" B: "Nice little mid-range straight into the water." B: "Do you like trees?" B: "A little soft. And weak." But then. Boss: "It's great to see that you just missed your putt for eagle right? And what are you doing? You're smiling. It's heartwarming that one of the most talented players in the world... is a human. And the human side is really important." SO good. And yes, Jussi, very heartwarming. And highly entertaining. Thanks so much for posting. And always smile.
Simon is my favorite player purely because of what Jussi said, he is fun to watch and he never gets upset or throws tantrums. His style is to throw the big shots and go for it rather than play it safe which is what draws people in.
Simon, you respond better than anyone else on tour. I love how Jussi is like "this is how i want to see you". Then your other teammate punches the ground when he misses a shot and breaks his hand. I wonder why Jussi likes your reactions!! haha
Lol! So true! I’ve always enjoyed watching Simon play and I think it’s 10x more awesome that he has such a great boss who cares less about the mistakes than he does the memories and being happy.
This video just gave me a lot more respect for Discmania as a brand. Jussi Meresmaa, thank you for being a good example of a compassionate person. You drew out the best in Simon even during watching the video of his errors. It's an honor to throw the plastic you sell; keep caring for people.
Simon to most of us, you are the most entertaining Disc Golfer to watch. You always have a smile on your face and you throw the most wicked "Simon lines" out there and its awesome to watch. I would be happy watching you play a round where you go +10. It doesnt matter how bad you play for me. Its the fact that you are an inspiration to everyone who wants to be like you
Jussi is such a good person, and that's why he's so drawn to you, Simon, because you're such a good person, too. You're always fun to watch, winning or not! Your 3-putt double bogeys just make you more relatable.
Jussi's ending comments there were awesome. Uplifting a good person in a great sport. I can't imagine the trials of what pdga pros go thru on that stage and in their personal lives, after following almost all the tourneys these past several years. It's cool to see.
Dude this is one of the coolest videos I’ve seen all season. It’s so amazing to see your composure and pure love of the sport even when it’s beating you down. Thanks for doing what you do!
Straight power move, Simon. Bringing your boss in to watch the worst of your year. XD But seriously, we as fans have mad respect for your composure during these situations. You are one of the players we strive to be like when we are having a bad round. Being able to smile in the worst of times or shrug off bad shots or even self deprecation without being toxic is SO HARD TO DO. You are on another plane of existence that we all hope to reach man. Keep doing what you do, we love it.
Best video ever. Not because Simon suffered, but because he's such a great guy and doesnt want to let his fans ever see him get too upset. He just enjoys the sport and cares about his fans so much
Love that your “boss” likes that you smile through your bogeys! Thank you! And no one is perfect but we can learn from our mistakes and work on our game. Love watching your video Simon. I am newer at DG starting in my 50s. My parents were from Germany too. Thanks for sharing.
I was fortunately able to go the 2019 Worlds at Ledgestone, I was in the gallery right next to hole 4 and saw the triple bogey. I think me and my buddies all shed a tear for you when we saw the shot roll OB. Your boss is right, we all get frustrated playing and most of us don’t even get paid to play, yet you keep a smile on your face!🙂 Inspirational!
Jussi reactions to this video with Simon are GOLD.The CEO ,the BOSS sitting with you and you are showing him your worst and he is like ok this ok .He seems like a great person and boss. I love videos like this from Simon and Discmania because it shows not not only the best and great shot but the worst and bad games. Nothing but respect here.
Not sure why it took me so long to watch this video, but glad I did. Simon, you exemplify what all of us should achieve to be on the course. We should accept our success and failures with humility. Thank you for taking the time to post videos like this and just being who you are. You are an inspiration to all of us.
"Nice little mid-range....straight into the water". What a cool boss and a great video, laughing at yourself is one of life's keys. It was like watching a really critical Dad with the best intentions and lots of love watch his son fail. That's an outstanding example for kids to see that getting mad when you screw up does absolutely nothing for you.
Simon, your videos are best ones in all the US and the rest of the world. You made me to absolutely fall in love with Disc Golf. I never miss any of your Vlogs and any other videos. Keep on doing what you do best. Play, toss, bedazzle us your fans with your talent. Thank you for being you.
What can I say, if we all had a mentor or boss that looks that deeply in to their employees we would all have a chance, but these warms my heart because it lets me know that nice things happen to nice people.... Simon, your the man, 🤟🏼
Simon, you’re a great person with a magnetic personality. Your humility and positivity will take you far, in disc golf, and beyond. Thank you for bringing joy to so many. Cheers.
Love the video. I was with the guys who were returning your putters at Canadian Nationals. They were fairly new young players and super stoked you let them keep the discs.
Simon, you are an honest man who has unlimited talent! I love watching your videos! Your boss is very encouraging no matter the outcome! Also thank you for signing a disc for my Son during the 2018 DGPT Championship in Jacksonville Florida!
Juicy is right. One of the reasons why people love Simon so much is his attitude. His worst angry breakout is kicking dirt... No screaming, no punching discs, no kicking baskets. 90% of the time, he throws a poor shot and laughs with the camera crew. It *is* heartwarming to see that behavior.
Simon, you are the best! Thanks for sharing a compilation of failures. If you try anything difficult in life you'll fail from time to time (unless you're Paul McBeth), but it takes great strength to keep such a lovely spirit through it all.
I watched this video because of my interest in disc golf, but it really ended up being a lesson on management. Lift your employees up, encourage them, nurture them, and everybody wins, regardless of how many double bogies are thrown. Thanks guys.
The worlds triple had to be the most painful. Watching this footage is a great way to fix your mistakes. It seemed like the death putts are what got you the most. Overall still a good year!!
It makes this video hearing that you smiling is a highlight per your boss. Keep being you Simon and one day we will see multiple world championships with your name on them!
Videos like these where you see just how genuine and relatable Simon is explains fully why he is my favorite player. Thanks Simon and I hope next year’s video is much shorter and your quest for the World Championship is complete as well!
I love you and your disc golf videos so much Simon I hope one day I can meet you keep up the great work and have a good rest of the off season and a good 2020 season.
i can see the pressure you feel looking at your past mistakes with the man that pays you lol just like you said your are laughing, but crying inside. that's why your my favorite pro Disc golfer! such an honest & cool dude! your boss too hes so positive on your mistakes, he sees the good you did with the bad.
I feel like having the human highlight reel devoting a video to his double bogies with his boss watching and wondering why he is doing this shows that hes not only human but can recognize his mistakes and is humble enough to point out his own flaws with the classic Simon self disappointment. Good stuff. Especially for newer players. Even if you can throw 600' double bogies still happen.
Great video..for players of all skill levels and various aspects of life. We all get caught up in failures and forget to celebrate the opportunity presented to us. Always a pleasure to see you play. "Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome." - Booker T. Washington
Great video. The only Discmania I bag is a SkyGod but after watching this I want to get more. I like to support companies with good ethics. And between what I've seen of you and what I saw of Jussi in this video, I'd say Discmania is definitely one of those. Keep at it fellas. We're rooting for ya!
Great video! 100% agree with Jussi- watching the human side of you is what makes you one of the most fun players to watch! Looking forward to next year’s video- though hope it’s shorter (fewer DBs!)
Mr. Simon Lizotte, you sir definitely have the quality of humility. A good quality to have is the ability to laugh at yourself. I enjoyed this video, I know it was hard for you. LOL
I would also say that another good reason that he pays you is that it is entertaining to the audience to see the lines that no one else sees. Whether they work or not isn't as important as seeing new ways of approaching holes that most people aren't willing to try or can't see.
Omg I love this video. Simon I always love watching you because you're always having fun and it reminds me why I love the game. This video really will help me remember that more even when I get those double bogeys. Keep up the great work
I love the all or nothing style! Even when it doesn't work out, no one else has the swagger you do on the tee pad. Also, I think it's only fair you make a reaction video to your 2019 highlights next.
Thanks. That was funny. BTW, put a danger rating on each throw. OB, slopes, trees kicks, etc. If high danger, take off some of that power for accuracy or safety? Also, I can't putt worth squat. So I try and get my approach shots within 5-10 ft, I'm sorry, 2-3m. :) Sure Simon can hit 10m putts easy, but 3m is a lot safer. Great post. Do more, please.
You’re definitely the most fun and light hearted player on the field. Don’t punch the ground like Eagle! Although, Eagle played really well throwing forehand with his hand wrapped hahaha. Cheers!
Simon you're the best 😎 and Jussi talks really nice things about Simon (for a finnish person 😉) Awsome and supporting video from all perspectives. Keep up the good work guys 🤩
I've been strugglin at my new home course in weekly competions. I have now ruined my rounds taking triple-bogey or worse in hole 15 with my putting(in my defence it's very fast green and I don't layup), but seeing you struggle maybe I have to change my tactics and play smart for a change. And I don't know why it's always the same hole maybe it's in my head those previous missputts. But mistakes teaches us so maybe next we make few less bogeys and improve also Great video as always .
It's in your head! Club down and play the hole for par next time, prove to yourself you can do that routinely, then build from there! Best of luck next time you're out there!
Just got my first edition of the mystery box after seeing your video about it and I loved it! 10/10 would recommend it, can't wait for my second edition to come in as well!
11:00 was the wildest one. I remember watching this and then Simon playing so quickly after that the camera didn't have time to catch his shots he was so pissed.
Such nice words from Jussi. He's right though. I like to watch you, because you keep on smiling through stuff other ppl would get crazy over. Keep it up!
Wow! I need a new boss. Amazing insight he gives you. Great you are able to keep your composure so well. I know for a fact getting mad don't help my throwing any. Great video 👍👏
I love Jussi's perspective at the end, it's very true. Thanks for the post.
Duhhh hes fuckin rich, of course hes happy
I felt really emotional at 15:45 because you can see Jussi's comment lands like a warm fuzzy punch to Simon's heart.
Amen
@15:55 Simon's reactions to Jussi's response is touching. You can tell he is getting choked up and that relationship between a boss and "employee" is special.
So true! Glad someone else noticed. His eyes literally started tearing up
I know right
"Always smiling Simon". We appreciate your humility and attitude. It's why we root for you!
Simon is so humble he has no clue why fans love him.

You make a mistake
Your boss: I'm glad you're still smiling, that's why I pay you.
I make a mistake
My boss: why are you smiling?
bruce wayne 😂😂😂
Boss: "Now you shank it to the right..."
Boss, on a different hole: "So you didn't get to the ladies tee?"

Simon's worst mistakes of the season. Aka: an average round for an am player 😂
I love these videos with Jussi though, he seems like such a nice guy!
Lol! So true!
I’ve always enjoyed watching Simon play and I think it’s 10x more awesome that he has such a great boss who cares less about the mistakes than he does the memories and being happy.

Simon, there is just something irresistibly charming and humble about you. In this episode you really allow yourself to he vulnerable. I live that.
What a boss! It's pretty clear that this relationship goes beyond employee/boss and that's awesome!
Jussi is such a good person, and that's why he's so drawn to you, Simon, because you're such a good person, too.
You're always fun to watch, winning or not! Your 3-putt double bogeys just make you more relatable.

Takes guts to view all of your missteps with your boss. Simon, we still love you man. 2020 will be yours.
Love the video. I was with the guys who were returning your putters at Canadian Nationals. They were fairly new young players and super stoked you let them keep the discs.
Omg, I didnt realize how cool the Discmania CEO is. Really makes me want to get some Discmania stuff.
I miss watching Jussi compete! You should do some rounds with him on here!
Thank you for being the professional you are Simon! Watching you take those mistakes with a smile is always encouraging.
Simon, you are an honest man who has unlimited talent! I love watching your videos! Your boss is very encouraging no matter the outcome! Also thank you for signing a disc for my Son during the 2018 DGPT Championship in Jacksonville Florida!

You're my favorite player for many reasons, but this is the main one. Attitude is everything. Laugh the pain away
"I laugh outside but cry inside."
I watched this video because of my interest in disc golf, but it really ended up being a lesson on management. Lift your employees up, encourage them, nurture them, and everybody wins, regardless of how many double bogies are thrown.
Thanks guys.
I have never had more respect for a CEO, what an amazing perspective. Keep being awesome Simon!
Dude Simon I love that you decided to put together a video of failure... you are the best. So honest and such a good role model.
The worlds triple had to be the most painful. Watching this footage is a great way to fix your mistakes. It seemed like the death putts are what got you the most. Overall still a good year!!
I think every amateur feel your pain. For me it’s happened every single round 😢 but you give us encouragement because you still keep calming.
It makes this video hearing that you smiling is a highlight per your boss. Keep being you Simon and one day we will see multiple world championships with your name on them!
"I like this video, hopefully we can see another one next year" is one of the greatest lines in all of your videos lol
I remember watching this video 3 years ago, still makes me smile.
Videos like these where you see just how genuine and relatable Simon is explains fully why he is my favorite player. Thanks Simon and I hope next year’s video is much shorter and your quest for the World Championship is complete as well!
You the man Simon. Always great attitude. Never change. You do more for the sport by professionalism and style than anyone else.
I love the humility that Simon has. It goes a long way for personality points!
I love you and your disc golf videos so much Simon I hope one day I can meet you keep up the great work and have a good rest of the off season and a good 2020 season.
Love your videos these last couple of weeks, Simon! You rule the off-season!
Jussi !! Your a
top world human in my mind!! So much joy and love emanate from this guy! Hope simon know the chance he have! Great video Simon !

Keep smiling Simon! Jussi is definately The disc golf guy. This video was really heartwarming and funny
Jussi makes the exact point why i love simon. When you see simon smiling he did something amazing or something amazingly bad.
Awesome video. A lesson for us on the course and in our jobs. Try hard. Own your mistakes. Keep a good attitude and your boss will keep you around.

By the way Simon can without a doubt also celebrate his succesfull plays almost better than everyone else. He's truly marvellous
Simon is the realest! Videos like this makes me want to buy his signature discs even if I don’t plan on throwing it.
Best personality in disc golf. Simon, you are loved by the community.
Simon with the best smile in disc golf
It takes a real man to smile through adversity. Good luck in 2020 !
What a great attitude Simon has. Humble too.
Such an amazing video idea Simon. I love your creativity and personality.
Great video! 100% agree with Jussi- watching the human side of you is what makes you one of the most fun players to watch! Looking forward to next year’s video- though hope it’s shorter (fewer DBs!)

Simon, this is why you’re one of the most popular players on tour...you’re honest and funny. Jussi is great!
Seeing that missed eagle putt at Throwdown still breaks my heart now! By far the most impressive drive I've ever seen!
Amazing words of wisdom from the Boss! Super cool 👍
Simon, it is a better idéa to collect the good and awesome stuff you did during the season. You did a lot of awesome during the season.
I love the all or nothing style! Even when it doesn't work out, no one else has the swagger you do on the tee pad. Also, I think it's only fair you make a reaction video to your 2019 highlights next.
"This was all or nothing"
-Jussi
i lol'd
This is one of the most wholesome disc golf videos I've ever seen.
How you handle those mistakes is great! You are our hero👍
Its good to watch your worst moments and learn from them your one of the best in the world keep your head up and win the worlds man
You have one of the coolest bosses wish mine was like that And good luck for the next season
Very impressive how you handle the disappointments. Definitely a big part of having great game. Good luck out there man🥏
Funny and heartwarming. Please do this every year 😊
You’re definitely the most fun and light hearted player on the field. Don’t punch the ground like Eagle! Although, Eagle played really well throwing forehand with his hand wrapped hahaha. Cheers!
Simon you're the best 😎 and Jussi talks really nice things about Simon (for a finnish person 😉)
Awsome and supporting video from all perspectives. Keep up the good work guys 🤩
That was fantastic! What a fabulous perspective!
Simon, you're probably the best ambassador the sport has. Can't wait to watch you in 2020!
Agreed wholehearted about the awesome sportsmanship from Simon.
Just got my first edition of the mystery box after seeing your video about it and I loved it! 10/10 would recommend it, can't wait for my second edition to come in as well!
I just got back from the course with a day full of them. bummer. yesterday was mostly pars. great video.
Takes a big man to do that video with the boss my hats off to you you're the best Simon
Painful and yet so funny to watch :D. Thanks Simon, you are one of the greatest!
Very wholesome vibe! Always smile!
11:00 was the wildest one. I remember watching this and then Simon playing so quickly after that the camera didn't have time to catch his shots he was so pissed.
This was great. Some heartbreaking moments, but with a great lesson!
Such nice words from Jussi. He's right though. I like to watch you, because you keep on smiling through stuff other ppl would get crazy over. Keep it up!
This was surprisingly sweet. Your boss seems like a real good dude.
Wow! I need a new boss. Amazing insight he gives you. Great you are able to keep your composure so well. I know for a fact getting mad don't help my throwing any. Great video 👍👏
