- This is not the only way to repair a tent. Repair methods can vary from just a piece of duct tape, to a dolop of seam sealer to a full blown sewn patch. All will work but some methods will last longer than others. This is just the method I use that works for me. Your mileage may vary. Goodluck!!
Instead of an 80 needle, I would recommend a 65 or 70 needle as your holes will be smaller and I would use a 60 or 80 weight polyester thread. There are a lot of quality fine threads available these days. But I believe your patch will hold up longer than the rest of your tent floor!
Using the material from the bag is a wonderful suggestion that makes my tent look new! Thanks
thank you! glad it helped!
Thanks for the tutorial 👍
What kind of sealer can I use for a polyurethane coated fabric?
can I just use isopropyl alcohol if I don't have denatured alcohol? Thanks
Sew an "X" across the patch rather than around, this method secures the repair with the least amount of perforations. Then seem seal the stitching. This method is least compromising to the fabric.
Circles man not squares to cover holes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! then corners can't turn up and come off.
