Thank you. I learned so many new things about mending: 1) cutting or cleaning the mending sight before starting. 2) tapering or extending the stitching past the original tear. 3) reinforcing the backside of the mend. Brilliant. Thank you for these very valuable tips. Very glad I saw this. 💐

I can't imagine why anyone would have a negative comment. This repair technique was so impressive to me that I said that the repair spot is going to outlast the rest of the garment! 🤣 I mean it is more thorough than any mending job I have ever done. I actually have learned something from watching.
Thank you so much. This work is an art like other works that we commonly consider to be art. I hope that people in this society can learn this type of craft, as it cultivates a deeper respect for the world we live in. Having lived in poorer countries I learned about how people would repair their clothes, shoes, everything, and not throw things away like we often see in the U.S. Now I will mend my shirt!😊
Absolutely beautiful work. Haven't seen this good a job since I was little girl. My grandma would take me to the craft store to pick out new fabric for my dresses and would make magic happen on her sowing machine. This was wonderful to watch really took me down memory lane. Thanks for keeping this dying skill alive. Wonderful absolutely wonderful thank the Lord for you

Beautiful work! You just taught me something I've been struggling with. Give no energy to the haters. They're not worth your time nor the effort taken to respond to them. Maybe you could have someone else read and sort through the comments before you read them. Another approach might be to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they mean well but must be having a hard time themselves. Some people are just negative. Some are only negative once in a while. Others, like myself, occasionally unintentionally express their thoughts in a negative way meaning no malice at all. My kids used to ask me all the time why I was angry, and I wasn't even angry. I was just thinking about something. People get in the habit of being negative. With recent events and the way the world is, in general, I think we all need a little grace. Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to video tutorials like this. You are making a positive difference. 💐

@@ameliafarren8490I'd like to see that too. As when I pick fabric up with a needle it crumbles away rather than picking up the stitch I wanted. (If that makes sense.) Especially in velvets and some cotton's that fray and come away too easily.

I’ve always mended holes from the back side of the fabric, but working from the top side makes sense to avoid too much puckering. Wouldn’t have thought of using the Stitch Witch fusing with the tack stitches either! Super nice repair!
My Mother used to take piece of the same material...fray the edges and weave it into the fabric over the hole which became invisible..my Mom was a genius at mending.
There are more than 150 videos on the channel, including all kinds of hole repairs with different fabrics and colors you can choose what suits you / I wish you good luck 🌹🌹💖

Gracias a tus enseñanzas tan bien explicadas...✔✔✔
Jaw dropped! If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes......! But could you plz add subtitles or captions to explain details and rationale and materials. IDK what the backing is. And how do you feather at the end to avoid a pucker -- I couldn't see if you were going above and below the line after you'd passed the mended area. You're obviously an amazing mender; I can't believe that came out so perfectly!
Thank you very much for your wonderful comment / My videos are supported by subtitles to clarify the details of the work. You can turn on the translation in the language you want by activating the automatic translation / I wish you all the best and success :) 🌹🌹💖
Ok, yes. I see the English now. I still can't tell how you got rid of the pucker, though, if you could explain sometime how you did that. It's amazing it's so invisible!
Thank you so very much for this timely video! A good friend lent me an antique nightgown and the fabric is very thin and fragile, and it tore immediately as I was putting it on 🫢! However--she was very understanding! She trusts my hand sewing skills, and although I was able to repair the one section of it near the underarm seam-- The gown had also torn again in two other places a little ways from the arm area, at a very difficult awkward angle! Like two slits, with just a tiny strip of fabric separating these two slits! Well, I put away my needle and thread, resolving to cover it instead with a lovely piece of lace trim-- That is-- until I came across your video 🤗 You've given me renewed hope and inspiration 😄 And so please, I encourage you to continue to keep posting these wonderfully informative, and easy to understand hand sewing tips!
Fantastic tutorial! I've always struggled with fixing holes in my clothes, but your step-by-step instructions made it seem so easy. Your attention to detail and dedication to quality really shines through in your work. Thank you for sharing your expertise with us!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I just snagged a small hole in a dress for a formal event tomorrow and I don't have time to have it repaired or get a new dress before the event. With this technique I was able to repair the snag. I'm not as good as you, so it isn't invisible, but is much less noticeable.
I'm repairing my boyfriends coat he's had for years and didn't know what to do with and it has a lot of Ash burns and other little tears so this has saved me experimenting! It's beautifully done ♡

My GOODNESS! YOU DO AMAZING WORK! I've watched a couple of your videos and sometimes I don't understand why you go back over the closed seams with a horizontal thread when you closed the opening with vertical closings. Is it to reinforce the fabric from fraying? And what are you "grabbing" with the horizontal threads? Is it each side of the fabric opening? The top opening and the bottom opening for reinforcement? Then, my next question is how do you determine what fabric needs this reinforcement and which is fine without it? You have not done this with all of your repair projects. I've watched 3 of videos. 1) denim repair. 2) Corduroy repair on a jacket 3) This designer pocket fabric repair. They've all been different. Plus different backing reinforcement backing repair. I'm SO IMPRESSED AND INTRIGUED. YOU HAVE NO PUCKERING IN THE FABRIC! NO DISCOLORATION! NO OBVIOUS PATCHING OF A HOLE! IT'S LIKE A MIRACLE! I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!!❤❤❤❤🥰😍😊😁☺️!!!!
Vaseline is an adhesive or filler used to line men's suits. The names differ in different countries. It is made of cotton and looks like fabric. Best wishes and good luck :) 🌹🌹💖

Muchas gracias por tu maravilloso comentario y por apoyarme con estas motivadoras palabras. Estoy muy agradecida / les deseo todo lo mejor y éxito :) 🌹🌹 💖

Thank you very much for your wonderful comment / I wish you all the best and success :) 🌹🌹💖
There are more than 150 videos on the channel, including all kinds of hole repairs with different fabrics and colors you can choose what suits you / I wish you good luck 🌹🌹💖

She trusts my hand sewing skills, and although I was able to repair the one section of it near the underarm seam--
The gown had also torn again in two other places a little ways from the arm area, at a very difficult awkward angle! Like two slits, with just a tiny strip of fabric separating these two slits!
Well, I put away my needle and thread, resolving to cover it instead with a lovely piece of lace trim--
That is-- until I came across your video 🤗
You've given me renewed hope and inspiration 😄
And so please, I encourage you to continue to keep posting these wonderfully informative, and easy to
understand hand sewing tips!

Thank you! I will never throw away damaged clothes again. ... I had no idea a repair could look so good.

@@karlavalencianajarro4737
Hola
No es gasa médica
Es tela con adhesivo para parche o para forro, también se le conoce como tela térmica con adhesivo
La encuentras en tiendas de telas o donde se vende todo para costura
Saludos..

I want to know what kind of patch you use at the end
Vaseline is an adhesive or filler used to line men's suits. The names differ in different countries. It is made of cotton and looks like fabric. It is better to buy and use a thin material, and when gluing it should be well heated. You can buy it at stores that sell haberdashery, twine, and buttons. It is always present in these places. Best wishes and good luck :) 🌹🌹💖
