Atlanta Music producer DJ Toomp shows a group of industry professionals how he gets down. He has produced tracks for artists like TI, Jeezy, JayZ, Kanye West and countless others. He sits down with his Powerbook G4 Laptop and a program called Reason and gives a quick lesson on how to produce hot beats. Toomp has been in the game for a long time and he is a true professional and approachable person. This was shot by Cinematic Productions in Atlanta, GA. Shot with a Sony Z5u Camcorder.
He flipped the hell out that , they thought he was stuck ,then bam !!!!!!!!!!!!!! toomp is so underrated ( one of the best in the game)
YEP!
That was fire because he made the drums, piano and bass line before he pull out the sample.
That's the magic what happen when you play by ear he knew that will fit in perfectly.
Much respect to dj toomp
thats the DJ spirit in him.
This was so hiphop. No matter how basic or advance the method was, my head lifted up and down the entire four mins.
Nice!
Toomp looking the villain boss in a 90s hood movie

KayKayTheProducer holy shit you're KayKay!!! i look up your vids all the time. your beats are dope af!!

UNCOMFORTABLE!!!!! I hate it when I'm in the studio producing and people are all over me. Sometimes I'm alone and can't finish a production in one sitting lol. I need to meditate on it a few days.

I couldn't make a beat with all these people watchin dayumm o_O
yo i got nothing but respect for DJ Toomp he's one a the reason why i love this music
I was thinkin the same thing too. like wtf. then he came out like DAMN. That is FIRE!!!! Thats one of the sickest beats i've heard in a while. and the funny thing is that took him about a few minutes. damn, what else can he do like that?
The second he put the keys in , i knew he knew what he was doing layering that shit up really nice
Toomp been putting it down for years.. Still one of the best in the game
It is cool to watch him pull this out, he was just searching for the right notes, and the whole room was unimpressed, but this guy just kept on looking for that melody. Then when he finds it, DAMN!! Just having fun.
Come on y'all he made this in minutes and outs for a showcase for reasons watch his other vids when he is in the studio
a masterpiece in less then 4 minutes...jesus toomp you never cease to amaze me
The end product is fire
Favorite beat from dj toomp would have to be t.I what you know from the soundtrack movie ATL that's when I really start taking T.I serious as a artist
He's making this beat with a program called Reason. It's pretty good from what I hear.

This was nice and simple. I've been using reason since 2001. I have 5 now. I also use FL studio 10. I think these are the 2 best DAWs 4 dropping tracks at the drop of a hat. Magic.
So much pressure in that room.

He needs to do a full song!
Playing by ear is the gift Toomp... Reading music is for robots!!!! Your music sounds better than a lot of people who are "learned/trained" musicians...
From begining to end!!! ... this is how a HIT producer makes a track??? Really!!! ...
That last thing he added was the clincher!!
greatness
Toomp is the best producer of the 2000s if u think about it and I told him that personally..hes just laid back so he doesn't get his props
