Lol I've had my Desktop Hidden for over 2 years now. Last time I attempted to show my desktop images my PC locked for about five minutes. I had a problem a long time ago with saving things to my desktop. And instead of fixing the problem, I simply hid the problem. Lmfao. Outta sight, outta mind!

Lol people act as if you can't boot into a computer. It's pretty simple. Create a Ubuntu CD off someone else's computer or go to the library and burn one. Come back home and put the cd into your broken computer. Buy an external hard drive that has 500 GB plus, preferably a 1 TB. These things are cheap as hell too. Around $60 - $70 at your local Best Buy. Then plug in the external hard drive while you are booting into the Ubuntu CD. Once you are on the installation splash screen, click on "Try now" instead of installing it. You will now be able to try the live version. Open up a file manager in Ubuntu. You should have remote control over Windows files. Grab and save the important files and back them up to the external hard drive. The most important files are - Program Files (but you basically only need a list because these files, you can simply just reinstall unless you mod a software.) - Program Data (files in here are saved as save files. So you might want to back these files up if it pertains to you.) - Users (this folder is basically all of your accounts. You can back this entire folder up because this folder includes saved browser information and other saved preferences such as saved passwords from FileZilla.) Any other folders are junk because everything besides the listed above are only meant for the Windows system. I am a Linux user and the reason why I dislike Windows is because 90% of files are specifically for the system. This means that 90% of process made during a usage is basically from Windows. If you have high CPU usage, it is mainly because of Windows. Windows itself eats so much process because it uses a sht ton of background process just to keep the Windows system running. I should also mention that Windows can't do what Linux can. Windows *does not* have a live preview. So if they ever get screwed up in a scam like this, they can't do live previews to back their system up.

Then Windows 10 came along in 2015. Guess what? Again a large portion of Windows users didn't want to switch from Windows 7 to Windows 10. And you know why that is? Because of "change". No one wanted to make that large change. Only until Microsoft made an announcement that they will be stopping all support for Windows 7 did they say that Windows 10 was the only supported version. And that's why everyone decided to start switching over. Plus that false rumor that Microsoft will be forcing your Windows 7 to upgrade automatically to Windows 10. Which is false. Windows 7 *DOES NOT* have the same compiled system that Windows 10 does. It has something similar, but unless you make an update to your Windows 7, you *CAN NOT* get updates from Windows 10. So in compassing everything I have just said. If you want to convert the entire world from Windows users to a more friendly OS, Linux would be the choice and there's already a large variety of Linux OS. SwiftGull I actually wouldn't recommend doing that. What makes you think the other person doesn't still have access to your PC? It would be wise to back up important files and trash the partition or wipe it clean using the install a CD and start a fresh install.
Just subscribed, in the past 3 weeks i have gotten a call from scammers. Last time i was driving and this guy call me saying that they have tracked a virus on my computer that was affecting the network from Microsoft and they where a subsidiary company fixing this problem. So i pretended that i was at my computer, i was able to keep him for about 20 min. When he asked to go into crome, i'm guessing to start a team viewer, i will say: oh, sorry man i pressed the shutdown button, how do i stop it?, then i will pretend that the computer was starting again. All this while i was driving. Was entertaining.
I'm so glad people like you do this. One of these guys got a hold of my 80 yr old dad and bricked his computer and he lost everything. It couldn't be fixed. I hope these guys suffer.

He let him go through each (and every) folder one by one and highlight them and let him waste his time playing with a virtual machine trying with his shitty attempts to delete system 32. He came prepared with the virtual machine, why do you think he took a snapshot of it in the first place? The whole point of these calls is to make the scammer waste their time as opposed to scamming other people and that's exactly what he did.

I am just watching this video, a year later and that scammer made me very angry! He is the type of scammer that extorts, not just scams, customers!! He literally holds a customer’s computer hostage until they agree to pay! He is the lowest of the low!!!

Some of these BS pop-ups will say Microsoft certified agent or geeksquad agent or Apple certified tech.. People trust it. Obviously he knew what the scammer was doing even as soon as he disabled his input and browsed his computer directories. He let him go through each (and every) folder one by one and highlight them and let him waste his time playing with a virtual machine trying with his shitty attempts to delete system 32. He came prepared with the virtual machine, why do you think he took a snapshot of it in the first place? The whole point of these calls is to make the scammer waste their time as opposed to scamming other people and that's exactly what he did.

You know what would be good? Loading a vm in your computer (preferably windows xp), then loading the different versions of windows ahead of it, ending in windows 10

At the 8 minute marks was the scammer deleting files, compressing them or changing the security of them? It's hard to make out what he did and why did he start deleting the registry?
