  • Did a super low wind session with a buddy in around 6-8kts of wind.
    Did not expect that the reach can handle this and first it seems like that.

      yes that´s true but i want compare the reach and was suprise how good he did, of course peak stay in the air like a champ but reach 13m have a bit more power :)

    In the lowest breeze with my old xover and now with the same curve mt usually i can go out with the reach 9? If the wind dies it falls from the sky anyway and probably it’s harder to waterstart and you need 2/3 loops plus a bit of pumping but then you are foiling

      my experience so far in low wind is (all with my 1.150cm² wing my weight 73kg) :
      Flysurfer Peak4 13m => 4kts (min) 8kts (fun) 13kts (limit)
      Flysurfer Peak5 8m => 6kts (min) 8kts (fun) 16kts (limit)
      North Reach 2020 11m => 7kts (min) 10kts (fun) 20kts (limit)
      North Reach 2021 13m => 6kts (min) 8kts (fun) 16kts (limit)
      Cabrinha FX2 11m => same as reach 11m
      Cabrinha FX2 8m => 8kts (min) 12kts (fun) 20kts (limit)

      @@TomKitesurf-Passion i still find minimun wind way too fun 🤩 the risky sesh where a swim it’s dangerously possible…. The important thing is that the sun is up and that when i fall i swimm enough fast to get to the foilboard with strong current.
      The curve mt is 1050cm2 anyway 😉

      @@giorgio4660 yes thats true...atm im more on bigair(bit this is about our winter temp around 5degrees ;) ) btw: (maybe the changed with the new line!? Anyway need a smaller wing around 900 cm² would be great for jumping and more speed)
      The M-T has a 73 cm wingspan, 1150 cm², 2.0 cm thick for a volume of 1.1L. Mounted with a 39 cm Curve stab, this is a surf foil for good and light people.

      @@TomKitesurf-Passion it’s 1050, 1150 it’s the “surface feeling cm2”😉
      Yes they changed the lines, I’ve bought it like a month ago in sale for 299€ but I still have to try it as we had only strong wind ( still wearing 4/3 in south italy mate ahahah )
      The curve mt is more a setup for beginners kitefoil, easy and good for either lightweight or heavyweight riders, it can be the first foil or a nice option and not challenging for someone that already foiled in older stuff.
      If you search a great foil for bigair look at the gong fluid xxs, it’s a 650cm2 but the gong customer service strongly suggested it to me as next future step even if I weight 100kg as these are a bit thicker and have a lot more lift than the old generation; I talked to two riders who had the old gen fluid st (it’s like the 700 or 750) for boosting and after some times they had to buy something smaller because early or later you understand you need a small foil to boost well and be less op ( in gka you can see 440/550 foil very thin in fact, like the gong ypra s xs )
      😁🤟
      Edit: they also changed the stabs, you lose 2/3 of drag and earn a lot of glide with the new ones, a big jump even here ! 😁

      @@giorgio4660 ok cool seems i also have to write them. My first foil was a zeeko mit 650cm² was hell to learn then i switched to the curved MT (was so super easy and train some tacks) In (South)Germany atm we wearing 6/4 with additional 2mm Hoodie-Tanktop ;) When the next good wind window is open the i travel to Grado Pineta for some hopefully good bigair sessions ;). If you have me a good tip or another nice spot nearest to munich in italy let me know ;) (normaly in summertime we travel down to Apulia (Vieste)

    You ride in very light wind! Have you tried the FS Hybrid or Gin Marabou2? I'd be curious to know how they compare to a Peak or DLab in the ultra low end.

    • @TomKitesurf-Passion
      @TomKitesurf-Passion  11 месяцев назад +1

      Not yet but what i noticed the fs hybrid is more stable also in stronger winds but in the low end the single skins have a bit more power. One year ago i also flew several time the peak in 13m around 4-7kts but i think fs peak in 8m is perfect also for snow kiting in the mauntains

    Foil kite or LEI kite. Which is better based on more experienced kitesurfers preferences?

    • @TomKitesurf-Passion
      @TomKitesurf-Passion  2 месяца назад

      All depending on your style. Lei kite are much more responsive but nice foil kites like flysurfer sonic or ozone have super lightwind abilities and super much hangtime when jumping

    • @TomKitesurf-Passion
      @TomKitesurf-Passion  11 месяцев назад

      of course some "gust" around 8 kts but most time on beach around 5kts so outside a little bit more ;)

    • @crocodile172
      @crocodile172 11 месяцев назад

      That's would be more realistic. Reach is heavy kite and simply will not stay in the air in 5kts even with loops etc. Most likely 8-10kts at the shore and more outside.

    You almost dropped the kite on civilians multiple times. It could be dangerous even in very low wind (a kid getting tangled in your lines) great way to give the sport a bad name and get it banned from beaches

    • @TomKitesurf-Passion
      @TomKitesurf-Passion  6 месяцев назад

      You are right we need to also care about safety of swimmers around. Because of that i exactly start at the marked kiting/surf area at the beach between the red/yellow boje ;) and also give the kids a call to please leave the Area which also the guy from the surf school did. Fly safe
