Great interview! Lysa helped me so much when I was going through a divorce after being in a very toxic marriage. Living as a single mom now, and praying that God will carry me through the loneliness and challenge of being a single mom. It’s encouraging to see how God has blessed Lysa after the trials she faced.

I hear you and even though I don’t know you, I care. It is so hard. I wish it wasn’t, but when I see the (after) after math there is this glimmer that God is indeed leading through these horrible dark times to something so much better. We just can’t understand how.
Someone I love is going through what you are going through, the waiting period. It is like torture. Somehow, sometime, the God who made you and loves you will reveal the beauty that he intends to give you. Hang in there. Like what this couple said, do the next right thing according to the Bible. Go to worship services, think of others, rest when it’s time to rest if possible, work when it’s time to work. God sees all and cares. The truth is, God does not make mistakes, get too busy, or change. He will see you through to the end and make things new.❤️

This was very encouraging. My divorce was final in 22, after 46 years of marriage & 8 children. Discovered my husbands porn addiction in 20, that had started when he was a teen. I still didn’t want a divorce but he had walked away from me as his wife years earlier & walking away from the marriage was easy for him. I would love to have a real marriage & be loved & cherished, but I’m afraid to trust. I’ve put it in God’s hands & asked that He not bring anyone around till I’m healed & in His time. At 67, if I don’t marry, that’s ok too. Thanks for this message!

This sounds identical to my story! I had to work on understanding sex addiction to be able to heal and forgive my exhusband. Their brains are wired using the same pathways as any addiction. Lysa's book "Forgiving What You Can't Forget" was therapeutic for me because she describes the same emotions that I was feeling. Feed your soul with the word of God! Read His word every day and He will lead the journey we did not choose to be on. God bless.

We were also long distance so he surprised me by driving 9 hrs from Richmond VA to Jacksonville, FL for our first date! The rest is all God… we’re now coming up to our 4 year wedding anniversary and we live in Jacksonville! Hope Lisa continues to enjoy NE Florida as much as my husband does and many blessings on their marriage!

Really enjoyed listening to this. But I found myself very surprised that these two lovely people met on a dating app. I've always thought it's people like me that need to use the apps. I'm an outgoing guy but due to the solitary nature of my work and attending a small church, I get to meet very few people in my everyday life. Lisa, however, likely has hundreds, if not thousands of connections all over the place. One would have thought that some friend somewhere would have said "hey I know somebody who knows this guy and he's really great," etc... But I suppose that all of us have our own version of the bubble we live in regardless of who we are or our occupation. And though they certainly have their flaws, dating apps put you in front of people you'd never meet any other way and so therein lies the benefit for us bubble dwellers. Thank you for posting this great interview.

Ahhhh - Loved this so much!
I’m home in Michigan, don’t know how this podcast came into my feed - but when I started listening & heard you were in Jax, I thought - I bet that Lysa goes to Eleven22, she HAS to be plugged in w/Joby!…
Then hearing you talk about Mexican & then Chaz surfing - I had a flash back of when I lived in Jax Beach (Ywam/Bible school for nine months in 15’). Standing at a taco truck, I got to share the gospel with a drunk surfer, because the first place I ever caught a wave was in Jeffery’s Bay South Africa, working with Christian Surfers International… So amazing!…
Ahhhhh this episode held so many facets of my heart, I’m so thankful to have had it come into my life! (I still listen to Joby and love the richness of the Eleven22 family!!!)
Side note have you been to the Afghan restaurant on the north side of Jax? By Craig Airport/Atlantic Boulevard Estates.

Ali, I loved this podcast!! I think it was so good, well-balanced hearing from Chaz, who all of us years-deed lovers of Lysa, were curious about. He won me over with his undeniable, underlying JOY, and the genuine tenderness in his responses and their shared bond. This inverview not only gave background for Chaz's story, but gave me pure joy seeing that God has done great things in their lives. My story in the last 10+ yrs of my 30 yr marriage are unfortunately similar to Lysa's, so this has given me more hope that God will make beauty from ashes, despite my current desert phase. This very morning I was reading Its not supposed to be This way and I read one page so many times due to the content teachimg me something I needed to hear due to something that has been weighing heavily on me and thought how I wish I could tell her how much her books bless me and clarify things for me and allow me to accept who I am she is just so honest with who she is. The Lord put this Vlog before me so I could say thank you. My divorce caused me to turn to alcohol instead of God but six years later God miraculously healed me. So thank you for this interview and so happy for God bringing these two together. And praise You Jesus for bringing me here.

Thanks for your comment. Personally I have no problem with divorce for genuine abuse. We can't always predict how someone will turn out. And yet for someone who claims to be a model of Proverbs 31 virtue to deliberately re.arry a divorced man is a bridge too far. That's not love. That's sympathetic dysfunction.

@ yes I agree about divorce and re- marriage if the divorce is not on biblical grounds. I have counseled with Heart To heart, Doug Weiss organization. I don’t know his explanation for divorce, but I don’t think it’s based on Bible principles,. sometimes it’s hard to know the situation. It would be nice to hear Lisa Weiss’s side of the divorce.

I find this whole conversation a bit disconcerting on many levels. The idea that accountability is seen as a way for a partner to keep a spouse under their thumb is not what accountability is for. Also if the goal is to build trust that is not trust. She has just found another method of controlling her new husband. While some accountability is necassary for everyone this is not its purpose
I can use his buddies to wrap him around her little finger. This is so wrong! Besides one of her own rules for judging trustworthiness is if theres a disconnect between what someone says and their actions go with the actions as the real person. She claims to not promote divorce but now she is divorced and remarried to a divorced guy. Sorry guys
Proverbs 31 is no longer a trustworthy source of godly counsel. Physician go heal thyself!

    • @JK-sw7gp
      @JK-sw7gp 3 месяца назад +3

Agreed! Also -- her books only focus on problems and never on being an overcomer in Christ. I am convinced she never makes a good decision so she always has a book to write. Think about it, if she made good choices, she would put herself out of business immediately. Furthermore, her "advice" is grounded in emotional decisions vs. Biblical. Why women celebrate her choices and hold her in high esteem is very concerning.

This woman has a bruised ego. She loves to be worshiped. She was looking for someone to worship her, so she was floored because he took an hour flight to have coffee. What about his love for God and His word . She sounds so desperate. It's always about who is loving her.
She claims her marriage was bad for 30 years? What about her ex-husband supported Proverbs 31 ministry, i think he was part founder? They have lots of kids, so I'm sure he supported this family financially? Two "self-proclaimed victims." Their suffering equals their self glorification and gain. 🤮 Chaz will be her next book if HE fails her.
They both need prenuptials. Two grifters.

What am I missing here. Or the fact that the whole culture around her supported it. Seems to me this ministry has lost its way.
