Great video my man. I have a Antelope Audio Zen Go, Zen Q and Zen Tour Synergy core so I know exactly what you are talking about for sure. I will say that I did have the challenge that you are facing with needing more hardware outputs for my outboard gear as well as my Neve Orbit 5057 and Dangerous Music LT 2bus. I actually went with an RME Digiface USB and 4 Behringer ADA8200s. That gives me 32 very decent hardware inputs and outputs with a very high-end audio driver and crazy mixer inline with what Antelope has. Just something to consider. Good luck and do great work!
Question: 1. what is the dynamic range on that Orion? 2. How is the conversion? 3. Are using Mac or PC? If Mac how is the software, is it stable? 4. If you are familiar with RME TotalMix software is the Orion software comparable?
the d/a is 130db on the monitor outs...not sure about the line outs...software wise all of the antelopes I had have been pretty stable for me but i never upgrade my OS so it could be buggy for others...never used the RME
Comment: You might want to take a look at the Neve 5059 Satellite ( 16 Summing Mixer). Like you I got a bunch of synths and outboard gear.. and I do have additional patching.. but I use. the 5059 for both tracking and summing it has inserts so I can have my go to outboard gear already available. It's fantastic to determine EQ decisions. Like you I've been thinking about adding an AD/DA converter. I'm looking at the RME ADI-2 Pro. So basically what I'm thinking is use the 5059 to finish my mix like I'm doing then go through my pre-master chain then go into the AD/DA for my 2 track and then that goes back to the interface for the final print. That's why I was asking you about Orion cause I was looking to upgrade the Interface too but I don't know about those Orion's cause Antelope doesn't have the best reputation on making sure those drivers and software stays upto date.
