You don't necessarily need to buy a old Korg Polysix..... you could get a Korg Nautilus and get all the sounds from the Poly Six, those lush textured strings especially... are there plus all the other sound libraries from Korg's past. On another note my Sequential OB-6 needs to be tuned every so often.... and so do my other analog synths. I learned the temperature in the room and the temperature of the other synths around it affects the filters so you may have to re-calibrate to ensure everything is in tune. so I keep a temperature gauge in my studio which tracks the temperature and makes sure there is not more than a 2 degree variance within the studio any any time.

This thing is a standalone USB audio interface! You can go directly into your Computer..

A month ago, I hadn't even opened GarageBand on the iPad mini 6 I've had a few years. I bought a BeatStep Pro, which helped me understand Ableton better. Between ordering a Novation Circuit Tracks and it arriving from Amazon, I found a video on the APC64 because I was looking at a Launchpad Pro. Sent the Tracks back for refund, exchanging the BSP for the Akai. Nothing against either piece of equipment, the pads on the Tracks felt really good to me, but the knobs a bit stiff. I used to present on amateur radio a long time ago. We used knobs for things we didn't need to change often, but faders on things we did need to do quickly, like open and close the mic. I'd forgotten faders are so much quicker, so the touch strips really appeal to me, along with its scales modes. I feel the APC64 is the perfect choice for how I'd like to have fun, just messing around with clips and scenes (a week ago, I didn't even know what that meant, so wish me luck).

Great video my man. I have a Antelope Audio Zen Go, Zen Q and Zen Tour Synergy core so I know exactly what you are talking about for sure. I will say that I did have the challenge that you are facing with needing more hardware outputs for my outboard gear as well as my Neve Orbit 5057 and Dangerous Music LT 2bus. I actually went with an RME Digiface USB and 4 Behringer ADA8200s. That gives me 32 very decent hardware inputs and outputs with a very high-end audio driver and crazy mixer inline with what Antelope has. Just something to consider. Good luck and do great work!

Direct to customer is the only way IMO...its better to have 200 people that really rock with you than 5000 passerby's. They will not only listen to your stream, they will purchase your singles, albums, gear and attend your live performances.

Comment: You might want to take a look at the Neve 5059 Satellite ( 16 Summing Mixer). Like you I got a bunch of synths and outboard gear.. and I do have additional patching.. but I use. the 5059 for both tracking and summing it has inserts so I can have my go to outboard gear already available. It's fantastic to determine EQ decisions. Like you I've been thinking about adding an AD/DA converter. I'm looking at the RME ADI-2 Pro. So basically what I'm thinking is use the 5059 to finish my mix like I'm doing then go through my pre-master chain then go into the AD/DA for my 2 track and then that goes back to the interface for the final print. That's why I was asking you about Orion cause I was looking to upgrade the Interface too but I don't know about those Orion's cause Antelope doesn't have the best reputation on making sure those drivers and software stays upto date.

Question: 1. what is the dynamic range on that Orion? 2. How is the conversion? 3. Are using Mac or PC? If Mac how is the software, is it stable? 4. If you are familiar with RME TotalMix software is the Orion software comparable?

Pipe these analog or ADAT into an RME interface like the Fireface UFX that records direct to a USB flash drive (DURec). Take the computer/Dante card out of the equation and you have removed another point of failure. Saved my session recently that I was piping into Logic. Near the end of a 2h40m performance, Logic crashed and I lost the last 20 min. Checked the RME DURec, and all of it was there and perfect. Indispensable IMHO.

At only $200 new, this unit looks great. Digital plugins don't sound quite the same imo.

While it looks like it will be a decent spring reverb, theres no way this sounds like the Grampian 636 that its immitating the look and name of. Theres zero chance Behringer used expensive Germanium Transistors. Like all other behringer gear they would have used a very cheap alternative. Hence the very low price point. There are already faithfull recreations of the Grampian 636 that DO use germanium like the Sound Gas clones that sell for £5000 or the SVA clones that sell for £1000. So maybe compared to a plug in this Behringer box will be good but it will pale in comparison to any half decent spring reverb hardware. Theres a couple of vintage spring reverb videos on my channel. Ill test the Behringer when it arrives in august...but i doubt it will compete with any of the springs currently in my studio. "Theres nothing exciting about a spring reverb" lol 😂🤦‍♂️ I could not disagree more with that statement. 😅

What I find much more interesting than the reverb is the additional built-in preamp. It sounds really great on probably every synthesizer and drums. The signal is really saturated and rounded and the sound reminds me a little of the warm British console sound from the 70s and 80s. I don't know of any preamp under 500 € that even comes close to enhancing and coloring the signal and, in contrast to most guitar distortions that are often used for synthesizers, the signal is not destroyed but rather simply condensed, similar to a tube.
