    Yes...the amazing Bass is Avi Kaplan. He's one of the most incredible and talented singers I have ever heard. His voice in general is simply beautiful. You should check out his music (and also his work with Pentatonix) They are crazy talented too.

      Thanks!! Yess I’ll see if I can do some
      Original vs Pentatonix for comparisons. I did put their name in the title so the algorithm can pick it up and get more views, without wanting the entire army to come marching in. As mentioned, would love to explore them from an analysis perspective rather than a reaction one (so as not to get an onslaught of subscribers)

      @@TheMuserResolute I am actually even more interested in people analyzing the music because it always makes me look at it from a new perspective.

      @@Bine80 perfect!! Will Defs get some prepared :) it’s definitely more of an interest to me doing analyses than first time reactions - but I know a lot of people also like first time reactions as they get to relive their first time hearing a song/artist. Because I love analysing, I can catch some stuff the first time but it often frustrates me that when I go back and edit my videos, I catch more stuff that I didn’t speak about

    I can't believe you actually reacted to my recommendation! Thank you so much, I really enjoy watching your reactions and admire your musical knowledge that you bring into each video you do! I am so glad you reacted to Avi Kaplan, he is such a talented singer and an incredible bass, his voice is just so smooth and lovely and his own music is hauntingly beautiful (definitely recommend it). Yess they’ve got a massive fan base! I’ll see if I can do some original vs pentatonix comparison (rather than reactions) so as to mitigate getting a flood of fans subscribing for reactions to Pentatonix (have heard some of their most famous covers) - Hallelujiah and Bohemian Rhapsody to name a couple

    • @Lilylinegod
      @Lilylinegod 2 года назад +1

      @@TheMuserResolute Because you are so expressive I find myself always wanting reactions to songs I know are amazing. Then I suggest Pentatonx reactions to a music teacher like you might not know of them. After your response I thought it was equivalent to saying have you heard of Beethoven.

    • @TheMuserResolute
      @TheMuserResolute  2 года назад

      😆 haha well, tbh I do recognise that a lot of people don’t know them. I remember discovering them years ago when some of their stuff made their rounds (probably on Facebook). I did help a student out prepare for their final exams doing a comparison between Bohemian Rhapsody Queen/Pentatonix aswell (it was her choice). But I have also been actively avoiding them thinking I’ll do reactions on my channel. I’m trying to move away from just reactions and focus on analysis so I’d definitely like to do some on Pentatonix.

      Avi is my favorite, and his solo career is just amazing. I hate to rain on your parade though...Pentatonix is not from Canada (I know, dangit! I live in Canada too). The trio (Scott, Mitch, Kirstie) are from Texas, Avi is from California, and Kevin is from Kentucky. Matt, who took over the bass position when Avi left is from Massachusetts I think.
      Edit: Matt is from Maryland. apologies

    To add a bit to what folks have said about Avi Kaplan, he was an opera major (trained as a Basso Profundo), composition/arranging minor in college, and had been offered a position with the Los Angeles Opera when he was approached to join Pentatonix for their appearance on The Sing Off in 2011. He stayed with them until September 2017, and now has an extraordinary catalog of original music. While most reactors start with his most successful song so far, "Change on the Rise", wherein he does all vocals and sounds other than a bit of synth organ and tambourine in the bridge, one of my favorites is the studio version of his original and haunting "Full Moon". If you ever do look at any Avi Kaplan original songs they are all very eclectic forms within the broad category of Americana. He seems to just be exploring different ones with each release, blues, bluegrass, country, folk, gospel, jazz. He just brought in pedal steel as part of his instrumentation in the last month or so and he will re-arrange songs from studio to live performance or to fulfill a given overall mood of the set even if only for one performance.

    For me the most important clue was the scarecrow, especially combined with the lion (yeah, didn't get the real meaning of that one, but it still worked 😁) After that everything fell into place.
    I liked both songs in this episode! Nothing against Aurora, but I'm still happier that Billy's song won the lottery this time, much more interesting if the same artists don't get repeated and this series is more about surprises 🙂 (Having said that my suggestion is not a surprise though, I'll keep repeating it until the algorithm finally gives in 😆)

    You think Avriel Benjamin Kaplan is a Jewish name?
    LOL! He is a fabulous bass. He had already received his hire papers from the L.A. Opera House as their Basso Profundo when PTX grabbed him up and he was with them for 6 years.
    Now doing solo work and while he loves his fans and does concerts all over the world, his fan base is limited.
    He is not a social butterfly. Having bought a log cabin in the heavily forested area of Tennessee.
    He does a lot of roaming the forests and sitting on his porch writing music.
    Honestly I would rather hear him than Dimash.

Yes he is primarily a vocalist ....but he is a musician. I think the currently PTX is a little more limited in scope than they were when they had Avi. His work with the beat boxer was legendary. Avi provided additional sounds to the percussive track in way that was much more than just a Bass vocal line. He was a rhythm element and part of the percussive line in most of their EDM and more challenging choices for an acapella group.
