Very nice! Glad to see I'm not the only one doing that. Do you know if that's an actual procedure for the A-10C, or just something that happens to work? The first of my very few videos I uploaded was showing SAM triangulation to the group I played DCS with back then. When I first tried it I was very surprised at the precision that's possible with this approach!

Thanks, I don't think I have seen it in any of the publicly available TTP's and SOP's. I am not sure if this would work or been used IRL, or if the systems are smart enough to do this by themselves. I guess there would also be SEAD/DEAD to take care of the SAMs before the hogs come out to play. I will see if I can get an answer because it is quite an interesting topic.
The idea of using triangulation came to me while it was taking us quite some time the other day to find a SAM, we ended up wild weaseling (see my previous video). I practiced VOR triangulation and have seen or read about SAM triangulation on a forum or YT video somewhere in the past, might as well have been yours. All my good ideas usually come from somebody else. :) I have also seen something about finding a downed pilot using radio triangulation, but can't remember how that worked and where/what that was as well..

@@Ready.A-10C In the real A-10C I could imagine the RWR not being entirely precise enough (either the computer, or just the display) so that DCS possibly gives more precise indications. In general an automated form obviously exists (see the F-16/HARM, and all the E-designation aircraft), so an A-10C would most likely get the info from other platforms. But if someone finds themselves in a pickle I can totally see the "poor man's SAM finder" being used, wouldn't be the craziest thing to be improvised during the Gulf wars by far!
