That looks like a nice little setup. 80m worked well for you. I couldn't believe I got a station out of Chicago area last week from a new park over by Des Moines. Keep up the good work 73-K0BJJ
Thanks for watching! 80 meter is one that I’ve never gotten to play around with, so I would love to do some more when I’m at the parks since I don’t have an 80m antenna at home yet. 73, Kevin
Wondering when using the tri-magnet a thin barrier of plastic or Saran Wrap would be used between the magnet and roof for paint protection? Really want to try magnet mount with ham stick but don’t want to scratch my new vehicle paint job. Any suggestions?
I would imagine a small barrier might work, even like an old t-shirt or something. I only use the magnet mount when I am setup mobile at a park, and I try to be as careful as I can taking it on and off. Thanks for watching and sorry for the late response! 73 -Kevin
How hard is it to remove the tri magnet mount? I'm really liking my resonator, but I'm getting some common current issues sometimes. I think I might have to ground my radio and portable amplifier.
When removing it I have to be very careful, the magnets are fairly strong but it can scratch the paint very very easy if you drag it across the surface at all. If you are getting RF back into the radio the system spending time bonding and grounding everything together will help. I normally only run 20 watts but If I run more than 50 watts I end up getting RF on my Audio pretty bad. Thanks for watching and good luck with the installation! 73, Kevin
I appreciate your efforts and since I just started using the G90 your vids are good learning tools. Who is the ‘we”, “us” and”our” you refer to? I don’t see anyone else in your videos.
Thanks for watching, it is a habit of mine, I refer to we/us/our as a collective "we". I am a school teacher and so it is a habit, when I am in front of my class I use the term "we" a lot talking about me and my students. Thanks again 73, Kevin
@@WQ9FHamRadio Thanks for your reply. I thought it might be something like this or else you might be the Pope since he does the same😀 I am starting to really like the G90. Talked to an Australian ham last night and another on the 9th, both on 20 watts from Florida. This rig is amazing!
Thanks for watching! The magnet is on there pretty good. There is a space between the plate where the antenna mounts and the magnet that I can get my fingers under to prop it up but it does require a good amount of effort to pull it off, especially without scratching the roof of the car. 73! -Kevin
That is a serious magnet!
Really happy with how it worked, much better than the single magnet that’s for sure, getting a much more solid contact with the roof. 73, Kevin
Great video man. I always learn something from listening to a good operator. Thanks.
Thanks for watching as always! 73, Kevin
Nice work 👍

A little late to the party, But I use that mount and it’s great on the back lid of my truck. Nice activation!

I like the tri-mag mount. Messed up my roof, but I don’t care, much…
Yeah I definitely have put a few scratches up there but it works so much better than the single magnet.
