Great video showing all the ways to POTA during a contest-especially when QRP. I love my 705 and it was so easy to use coming from a 7300. It’s low power but super capable and a ton of fun, especially if you’re into weak signal modes on VHF/UHF.
It is really easy to use and honestly it is easy to travel with, I got a video coming up soon from Minneapolis with the 705 and I struggled hard with the QRP. But a day out struggling at radio is still better than a day at work lol! 73 -Kevin
Brought it to Minneapolis last week and that was a tough activation, it is such a fun radio and so easy to travel with. Brought my 891 with me today to Kansas City and my bag feels so much heavier today!
They work so good, I found my original group of hustler antennas in a stack at a hamfest and it was probably one of my most used buys from a hamfest! 73! -Kevin
Kevin, you can make your FT891 QRP but you can’t make the 705 QRO. I used to have a G90 and like you just experienced, I had a lot of fun with its limited 20W power on SSB.
Yeah I really go back and forth with that. The 705 is so much easier to travel with, its much lighter and requires much smaller battery power than the 891, but I know with the 891 I can turn the power up and the contacts just come pouring in usually. Thanks for watching! 73, Kevin

Funny how they ask you multiple times for your callsign and then give you a 59...lol
