I was lucky to be in the first row of the balcony that night in Lincoln Nebraska. What a pleasant introduction to a talented young woman.
It's incredible that this band can just pick up these complex melodies and make it sound so clean and perfect.
I doubt it sounds that good on the cd. I'll find out next week. :)

Chris Thile, who hosts the show is an amazing musician who collaborates with musicians over all genres. As a result his house band is a revolving door of the best young musicians in the business.
They have charts, it's what literate musicians do. Plus it's not like there was no rehearsal😂

As a Brazilian, I cannot stop thinking about how much of the feeling and musical aspects of Frevo and other Brazilian regional styles this song's groove and melody have. It sounds very tropical, specially the drums/bass/guitar groove they are playing. I think this song is a true masterpiece.
One is Madison's favorite musical artists is Juana Molina who is Argentinian, so there might be some osmosis that occurred.

Why she isn't more highly regarded & broadly recognized is what's wrong with popular music. At risk of an elitist brand, she's far too good to be "popular" (ala Steely Dan, initially).
