I don't know if this was intended in the show, but one of my favorite "jokes" is the fact that Black Noir sticks out like a sore thumb in daylight. I always found that so funny, and I don't know why. Also, I really hope he isn't dead. I hate how impermanent deaths are now in media, but come on. He had so much more potential. Great vid btw.
I agree 10 fold. He is an amazing character and I hope he isn’t fully dead cause I love him. However if he isn’t dead it’ll be kinda a cop out and the boys hates that. I believe he’s dead but his character died with an amazing ending. One that fits him
I mean he was definitely scared of homelander. Everyone was that’s the point of homelander. The only one who might not be is Stan Edgar. I think he just trusted that homelander also saw soldier boy as a enemy. He saw homelander as a team member but I’m sure he was scared of him. Good points for sure though. It would make his death even sadder if so
I have a feeling they’re going to bring in a new Black Noir and pretend it’s the same one. Barely anyone alive actually knows what he looks like anyways, so it would be easy to hide it.
Yea his death is heartbreaking. Even homelander for the first time tried not to cry killing someone. It’s just such a great and tragic death. Truly one I won’t forget
It's crazy that nobody is talking about how noir is over 50 years old and yet he could do flips and run on buildings 😂 In all honesty, they shouldn't have killed Earving just to replace him with a More "funny" and "interesting" character in the suit...the original black noir (Earving) already had all those things lmao complete waste of a character 🤦🏽♂️
Honestly bro. Man was modern marvel being a 50 year old goat. Lebron wishes he was him. I really wish they kept him for more than what he was given but at least he was fleshed out before hand so it hurt
I’ve actually heard some people say as a theory that they might replace Noir with another guy in the suit since unlike Maeve, he didn’t have a publicized death on the news and billboards. Noir is dead for sure, but maybe not in the public’s eyes.
Jesus Christ this is such a beautiful analysis of the charter. only seven minutes?!?! felt like an hour due to how invested I was. "fuck this show but its amazing." my thoughts exactly! you are making wonderful content and I hope you make it big
I have a hard time believing he died from disembowelment when he survived having half his brain knocked out maybe the writers will spin it and bring him back
I feel like he can still talk but stutters when doing so like his imaginary friend because of the brain damage he sustained. But since he's embarrassed about it, just like with his disfigured face, he hides it and doesn't talk. And I think he cried when the news compound V became public dominion is because he, at that moment, finally had the opportunity to just let it all out, all that pressure and stress he went through and maybe the guilt of killing all those people because of keeping that secret from the public.
That’s all a very good point. Black noir is such a sad character. I love the idea that he has the same stutter as his imagination however I believe he couldn’t talk at all. He only wrote down very limited wording. I believe his brain was just heavily damaged. But I love this look at him. Great job and I’d honestly believe it!
I have a couple theory’s of why they Killed off Black Noir. 1. They wanted to make Queen Maeve have a big sacrifice/exit from the show, instead of him, maybe the Actress wanted out of the show or something idk. Black Noir should’ve been the one to sacrifice himself against Soldier Boy it would’ve been better imo. 2. They want to introduce the whole “Black Noir is a clone of Homelander plot” from the comics (which I think sucks) so they’ll introduce a new Black noir but it’s not Erving he’s just wearing the same suit.
Seems like noir will be coming back but as a legacy title. It's either gonna be 1. A clone of homelander 2. A clone of soldier boy 3. A brain scrambled soldier boy(ironic huh?) 4. A completely new character If they do go with the "noir kills homelander" route I wonder what they'll do with Ryan? I mean it seems like they're building him up to take that role.
Only issue with that, as HL points out, he can see through the mask (which ended up being a pretty huge plot hole in the comic), so he'd immediately know who's in the suit. Only workaround would be lining the suit with zinc, buy that would tip Homelander off that something is up.
I feel like Noir will come back, maybe as a Homelander clone, but since he’s a Supe wouldn’t he heal? Maybe off screen he healed but gave us the look that he was dead, who knows.
Yea supes heal but like translucent, blue hawk and starlights ex boyfriend homelander killed we see they all have limits. Supes can kill other supes pretty easily especially when you’re homelander. It’d be a cool plot twist to bring him back but the boys hates fake out deaths as marvel does it all the time
@@Sports_Questionmark_PodcastI think it’d be interesting with the same writers. Especially on the grape moment and the aftermath. Since they seem to respect female sa [as they should] by how they depict it, unlike male sa which is taken as a joke and brushed off [multiple cases with hughie especially in s4] It’d be interesting to see how the writers might change how the public would react to male sa or how stillwell would(:
I mean the showrunner did say that black noir will come back but just not with erving, I think there is going to be a another build up to black noir after his death because my interpretation is that Vought will use black noir’s body into a clone of some kind to defeat Homelander if things just gets too out of hand just like in the comics, and combined with black noir’s trauma he experienced before I think the next season will be the opposite of black noir with him no longer having the fear he has but instead becoming feared against both homelander, soldier boy, and maybe everyone in the end
It’s just Minnesota is cold and and boring besides mall of America. Definitely not the worst state though. Not even close. That belongs to Oklahoma haha
For me, I really wished that homelander didn't kill black noir. At least, we could have seen a cool bout with nuked up soldier boy... But that's just my opinion.
I'm really disappointed with what they did to Soldier Boy in the show. Instead of being a cold and maniacal depraved killer he was a victim now and also stupid. He had those childish and unnecessary hallucinations of the cartoon characters in his head and then he just gets killed off? I don't get why they're trying to redeem characters like him or A-Train when most were pieces of shit in the comics just like how heroes would actually be like behind the scenes, in my eyes at least. First he saw doing crazy shit like bursting through the restaurant to hunt down Starlight or killing the village but seeing him in a "good" light or as a victim completely removes his aspect of what he was in the beginning and in the comic. Also I found the twist to be much more interesting then what they did here because there was buildup (unlike Soldier Boy being Homelander's father) and it changes your perspective on him, Homelander and on the story of the comics then how you might've viewed it before. Overall a nice analysis on his character, despite me hating how they did him in the T.V. show
Thank you so much for the compliment. I do see your argument for the characters but I believe the show represents a character they wanted to and did a very good job at it. I definitely see where you’re coming from though
