I can say with raytracing PS5 has the upper hand. Your weapons shine nicely. Apart from that, a bit bigger and some details added to the PS5-version, but I believe that's it. It looks beautiful anyways.

Ps5 has SSD harddisk which in of it self is a huge difference compared to the outdated ps4 harddisk. Also a much better gpu, just wait for games coming later for the ps5. Its not just a slight upgrade overall no.
The ps4 and xb1 needs to stop being supported before we actually start seeing major upgrades. Problem is these games are still being built around hardware. Most ps5 games nowadays are just ps4 games upscaled to 4k 60fps with no other actual changes

Theres definitely a noticeable difference. Ps4 is more blurry in all aspects, while the ps5 is way more sharper. Ps5 has slightly more lighting as well. When it comes down to it, not everybody has a ps5. I was fortunate enough to get my hands on one and im grateful to have it. 2042 looks decent on last gen, cant say the same for cod. (Look at bo3 on ps3 for example).
In real life both consoles look much better on 2042. The recording made PS4 look very clunky and low texture than it is especially at long range. The real PS4 looks like the version of the PS5 we see here but with lower rendering, bit lower texturing, and definitely no ray tracing. The PS5 looks even better than what we see.

Yup, we're still in the 'PS4 game up-rezzed for PS5' phase. No game is showing what the PS5 can do. Maybe Forespoken is the closest but is still not 100% made exclusively for next gen. I guess we'll start seeing real next gen graphic games in 2023 at the soonest.

But if you want the actual 3D models, physics, FX, and what not to look mind blowing, those assets need to be unshackled from the chains of a mid ranged 2012 laptop hardware. There is some minor/major FPS drops on intense vehicle fights/gun fights near a lot of people in one area. This game doesn’t run a steady 60fps on ps5. It’s real sad. I hope they can fix that somehow
I wish I'd played the trial first. Bought the £80 Gold version on XSX and it's rubbish, I'm back playing BF1 already. It barely works, and I can't get any kills - enemy players just stutter and lag - I'm not an amazing player, but not a bot either (1.25kd in BF1). It might be alright in 12 months time, but don't buy it yet.

For some reason I always end up on the same maps as well, I've not even played the Discarded map yet, it keeps missing it out! I'll be trying again tonight, but if it starts rubber banding me again I'll be back on BF1. Shame as the beta was not terrible, I had a good time with that. Overall though, even just the lack of a scoreboard to monitor my performance is ruining the game for me.
Buy other game in which you can crossplay with next gen and PC players, and Is basically the same game with 30 fps and lower resolution, instead of a low budget halfassed Port.

I got the PS4 version and the ps5 also but I got to say hardline looks better than bf2024 on PS4 ! no jokes after I played on PS4 I sat there laughing to myself how bad it was , I remember playing bf1 back in 2017 and the game smashed every detail and the feel of warfare

BF2042 is cross platform not cross generation that means ps4 players only cross with Xbox One while ps5 will cross with pc and newer Xbox, as I read the ps5 maps are bigger and have more locations and layout than ps4 version, ps5 support 128 player while ps4 only 64, ps4 new games still come out but developers are racing to take full advantage of ps5 power and that means ps4 players will not get the full experience of every AAA games, unfortunately my experience with PS3 showed me that you must upgrade to the newer system as soon as you able to or you’ll mess a lot down the road
If u are an old school playa u dont care about the graphics so much so since they release the games for both consoles i am staying with ps4 cheap and nice ps5 will be better in 2 years.

servers are full especially when you choose quick match on conquest mode . the browser servers you can find many due battlefield 2042 support the cross platform , at 19 of november its going to increase several servers on the lunch . i saw a high latency with some players on all platforms i thing its because DICE want to see how many players are going to play the game and then they will provide servers in spots that needed , and its playable or not. its depends on you becuase i saw many differences when i played on ps5 from ps4 as textures , the smooth, resolution ,even the response on ps4 sometimes is lagging, the lagging could be fixed with updates but if you care about resolution and you wont like it especailly if you are playing on 1080 tv not on UHD or QELD TV . crashes happened to me just for once on ps5 .... , i never faced crashes on ps4 and i dont know if the other players whom on ps4 had the same thing or no .
i love how sticks drift in both versions and how there is absolutely no reason not to include an option to play with friends who have ps4 in your ps5 build by a simple af downsizing a player-count in matchamaking. even fckn free warzone2 and destiny2 are complete full-crossplay. In BF 2042 you can play Against AI Bots, but can you play with 63 Bots on ps4 or are the matches smaller? I know on Next Gen and PC you can play with 127 Bots

Pc gaming isn't worth ur money these days. The most triple a games focus mainly on consoles. Pc systems are performing poorly. That said i might sell the 6700 xt and buy a ps5. Because i am so tired of bad optimization on pc's. Lots of ppl moved already to consoles since a gpu is about 700 a 800 euro/ dollar. I begun pc gaming in 2003.
I own the ps4 and ps5, your accuracy will be horrible on the ps4 due to the input lag and server tick issues…. Graphics wise the ps4 can some times look similar to the ps5 is you are connecting to a good server… but that doesn’t change how horrible the gameplay is on the ps4… the ps4 simply can’t handle the net code and actual game.

Are the server active? Gonna buy next year a PS5 with a fitting 120Hz tv. I guess I would rather take this than the new one.

Why a 120hz tv? Ps5 wouldn't handle games at 120fps for much time. Just take a look at nvidia rtx 4xxx series. In 2022 ps5 games will be like 60 fps capped and 2023 30 fps medium settings R.I.P

just try if that possible go to the store see if you can upgrade to ps5 version with 10 dollars if that not possible try to refund by talking to support tell them that you didnt like the game and you want to refund it . when they refund your money ,purchase battlefield 2042 and make sure its 70 dollars .

yes but its not stable at 60fps , sometimes down to less than 53
BF2042 is cross platform not cross generation that means ps4 players only cross with Xbox One while ps5 will cross with pc and newer Xbox, as I read the ps5 maps are bigger and have more locations and layout than ps4 version, ps5 support 128 player while ps4 only 64, ps4 new games still come out but developers are racing to take full advantage of ps5 power and that means ps4 players will not get the full experience of every AAA games, unfortunately my experience with PS3 showed me that you must upgrade to the newer system as soon as you able to or you’ll mess a lot down the road

If u are an old school playa u dont care about the graphics so much so since they release the games for both consoles i am staying with ps4 cheap and nice ps5 will be better in 2 years.
Trust me, PS5 is better today, it was better a year ago. If you can find a PS5, it’s well worth picking up.

servers are full especially when you choose quick match on conquest mode . the browser servers you can find many due battlefield 2042 support the cross platform , at 19 of november its going to increase several servers on the lunch .
i saw a high latency with some players on all platforms i thing its because DICE want to see how many players are going to play the game and then they will provide servers in spots that needed ,
and its playable or not. its depends on you becuase i saw many differences when i played on ps5 from ps4 as textures ,
the smooth, resolution ,even the response on ps4
sometimes is lagging, the lagging could be fixed with updates but if you care about resolution and you wont like it especailly if you are playing on 1080 tv not on UHD or QELD TV . crashes happened to me just for once on ps5 .... , i never faced crashes on ps4 and i dont know if the other players whom on ps4 had the same thing or no .

i love how sticks drift in both versions and how there is absolutely no reason not to include an option to play with friends who have ps4 in your ps5 build by a simple af downsizing a player-count in matchamaking.
even fckn free warzone2 and destiny2 are complete full-crossplay. EA just sucks ass.

Yes it is is some areas but there’s no denying that it’s a downgrade from bf5 and maybe 1 in terms of graphics still a decent looking game tho it seems like it was built more for next gen

this game was coded from ground up on PS4 hardware and uses just 8 threads, then ported to PS5, XSX and the PC, disgusting.

I own the ps4 and ps5, your accuracy will be horrible on the ps4 due to the input lag and server tick issues…. Graphics wise the ps4 can some times look similar to the ps5 is you are connecting to a good server… but that doesn’t change how horrible the gameplay is on the ps4… the ps4 simply can’t handle the net code and actual game.
PS5 better resolutions on assets and overall and probably better FPS
