    While everything you said was informative, you never showed how to 'sharpen' the blades. From the title I was expecting to see you use a whetting stone and sharpen the blades.

    Thank you Mr Warren for your tutorial on maintaining Andis clippers. Godfatha from London (UK)

    Thank you for watching, I use a soft arkansas stone to condition the blades. It is very smooth and does not damage the teeth. The other triangular set of stones are course, they help if you need to break down the surface on older blades. The prefer to use brand new blades that I lightly condition on the soft stone.

    Thank you for watching, I prefer to sharpen my blades once a month. I sharpen them about 4-5 times and then I buy new blades. The average barber does not sharpen or change the blades they use that often, its my preference.

    When adjusting the blade I used to do it hownyou did here. Then i lesrned to set it with blades facing flat down on the table as homey explains in th other video. Angle it so that the moving blade is adjusted to your spec as you explained. Thanks for the vid.

I enjoy men's grooming ALOT. so im just trying to educate myself on all my tools and maintenance. I just ordered two more t- outliners blades and i was wondering how often i should switch them? I did sharpen my first pair and they worked well for awhile. but now its not. so i just want to make sure im doing the right thing haha. thanks again

    Hey thanks for the video! It was very informative. Is that triangular set of stones you have in the video the Smith's TRI-6 Arkansas TRI-HONE Sharpening Stones System from amazon? If not would you recommend this stone for toning and sharpening? Also, do you know if there is a specific number of grit a stone needs to have to properly sharpen the blades, or can the stone simply be "fine" or "medium". Thanks!!

    Interesting advice for cutting kids. My son always gets cut when getting the lines. I guess kids have more sensitive scalps, no need to carve into them with the tricked out blade

    I sharpen three times and then I get a new blade. I sharpen my blades once a month but most barbers keep their blades longer but I like brand new blades.

  • @deep4dayz
    @deep4dayz 11 лет назад

    HELP HELP HELP! Lol. What's good Dave, I messed around and used the coarse side on my stone too much on my Andis T Outliner blade. The blade was quite worn, I've used your technique in the past with no issue, but now they will barely cut AT ALL. ACTUALLY they wont cut! Should I purchase a new blade or try the fine side of the stone more? Thanks man.

    good morning, could make me doubt, I wonder what best trimmer, andis t outliner or andis t outliner GTX ?

    • @Vincent2wice
      @Vincent2wice 8 лет назад

      I would the T outliner. the GTX is more powerful, but it is so easy to break, one drop from hand height and it can break the blade and cause internal damage. the Andis T outliner however is a beast and very very strong, one simple adjustment and you will have a machine that cuts Razor Blade close

    i got a pair of those last spring when i was in NYC.
    They worked very smooth, then i went back home to Iceland and i cant use them no more bc they r very loud n shake so much i cant even do a straight line wit em
    i kno its bc the electricity up here runs on 220
    but is there anythin i can do to fix it ?

    • @DependableBarber

      No , you might be able to get something with a pivot motor. Try the andis T Liner, I have a video for them.

      you can try purchasing a power convertor. is a rectangle, small device with multiple outlets, designed for Americans who move abroad, and are use to a certain amount of lower power as you yourself stated.
      on another note, when shopping for new andis clippers on Ebay as suggested by my idol Sir Warren, please, please read ALL the sellers feedback, and view his list of other items he is selling.
      if he has good feeback and sells alot of barber salon items. only then you should purchase.
      there is ALOT of cheap counterfeit t out liners on the market, that are dull, will break, or even shock your client.
      peace and love, all the way from Nyc
