Thanks for coming to the west coast of the states for a visit! It’s crazy how expensive things are for such poor quality. I remember seeing your video of the Sunrise Express and I was blown away at how clean, well designed and well maintained everything was. I wish American culture had the same values and respect for sharing public spaces and keeping things nice. I hope to some day visit Japan
the room you are in is the wheelchair assessable room. Not ideal at all. I would rather be in a small roomette, even on the lower level, but the upper level is better
1. The Smell - You took the Handicap room with a built in bathoom. You should have taken one if the normal rooms. One of the greatest strengths of the US is disabled access, if you were relegated to a wheelchair you would notice this compared to anywhere else on earth. 2. Amtrak Prices - Amtrak is a terrible deal compared to other nations because Amtrak is the only national line that historically has attempted the Sisyphean task of being profitable outright. Every other national rail line on earth exists entirely due to heavy subsidies, and this is a poltical football in the US. Japans line in particular exists as "cheap" as it does because the LDP historically spends a LOT of money on it (and other japanese national infrastructure projects) as a soft form of corruption for the building industry, which in exchange heavily donates to the LDP. Compare this to the US where amtrak is regularly underfunded until congress bails them out once a decade. Americans prefer air travel for being more convenient schedule wise, cheaper and faster and are willing to put up in sardine class for this. Also you are boned as rail is only "cheaper" if spread on multiple people going rather than solo travel. 3. Amtrak service - the only part of Amtrak that is heavily used is the DC to NYC corridor, those trains are generally newer and better kept as that line is actually paying for itself (mostly). I suggest you try that one eventually. Beware, the east coast is more heavily trafficked in general and some of the lines get stopped for hours due to giving way to freight traffic. So get a good room, because you will be stuck in it sometimes :^) 4. Prices in general - You went to some of the most expensive areas in the country, and shopped at the hideously overpriced rail stores. It is cheaper to buy stuff locally at the grocery store and bring it onboard for the trip. I get that is not the "travel experience" but it is what is done to save money. Inflation is generally a world phenomenon now due to COVID overspending sinking into the economy. 5. LOL at you seeing the conductor
Solo Solo san experienced the opposite of what I do when I watch Japanese travel vlogs: I’m always amazed at how relatively affordable the food, hotels, and train fares are when converted back into USD.
I knew this was going to be quite humorous 😊 Now you know why we Americans are so impressed by your beautiful, clean, affordable trains and ferries. Most Americans don't set foot on greyhound busses or amtrak trains. We drive or fly. Ty for the laughs 😄
"Most Americans don't set foot on greyhound busses or amtrak trains. Which is really kind of a pity; Amtrak isn't the cheapest or fastest way to get where you're going (generally), but if you can afford the time, I personally think the experience is worth it.
And yet, many of us keep getting back on those trains. It’s unfortunate that many of the cars are old and need to be replaced, but I personally would never fly again if Amtrak goes where I need to travel. Also, I have never before seen the Accessible Bedroom given to someone who didn’t need it. You noticed there’s room for a wheelchair? It must have been a sold-out train and it was the only sleeping room or roomette left. The roomettes and bedrooms upstairs have much better views, but I’m told that the lower deck is better for people who suffer from motion sickness. If you make reservations way ahead of time, you can reserve a regular bedroom, and they are all upstairs. Also, the further ahead of time you make reservations, the less expensive the fare is. Sign up for “Amtrak Rewards”; they occasionally have great specials, even BOGO fares. One other thing, let the attendant know of any problems. Really! On one trip, the roomette across from mine had a door problem that the conductor and attendant couldn’t fix. Meanwhile the passengers in the “Family Bedroom”, a much more spacious room, had already gotten off the train and that room was offered to the people in the roomette. They got a more comfortable sleeping room for the remainder of their trip, and this might have been the case for this passenger if he asked (and another room became vacant). For those who can’t, or don’t wish to climb stairs, the attendant will bring your food. Also, the attendant will make up your bed if you ask. I always tip waiters and attendants (although I suppose there might be a rare lazy employee who doesn’t deserve a tip. My sister had that happen one time.)
@@pbyguy7059 Of course you wouldn't mention the smelly ass room lol. If I paid 1 grand for 2 nights on a train, I'd sure as hell hope to have sleeping room that does NOT smell like literal shit.
@@arwenlostlorn6569 I didn't mention it because I had already said, "There's no excuse for any smell and amtrak ought to have some kind of train plumber on it. But that is an accessible room with a toilet meant to be easily usable by folks in wheelchairs and with other mobility issues. That same train totally has other rooms with normal little bathrooms and several other bathrooms and showers." But please, continue.
The sad part is, your room was a wheelchair-accessible room, and likely cost more *because* of that. As a disabled person (non-wheelchair, but I do use a walker) that would be the best room for me but at the same time it's insanely expensive. But that's what it's like for a lot of accessible things like this in the US. There are government requirements for accessibility but the bare minimum is done to adhere to them while charging people that need those facilities extra for them.
The new superliner cars are specified to have some nice improvements--there will be lifts in many cars, and the core of the train (some of coach, the diner, lounge, and sleeper) will all have accessible corridor passages on the upper level between cars.
As a person living in Western US, our passenger rail infrastructure is definitely in need of a major improvement and is very behind from your home country of Japan. I really enjoyed your video and your snarky commentary about inflation! Safe travels
@@VuQuang1973 with improvements that number would increase. If the US takes the time to make better railways everyone will use it but for now its very inconvenient because the whole country was design for cars.
@@nicefly1556 a train will never be faster than a plane, and won't even be cheaper at this point. Its copium. The length of Cali itself is already like traversing all of Japan. Lol "designed" for cars. Yep, God engineered the land itself deliberately for cars. It certainly has nothing to do with being the 3rd largest country by land mass
@@ericmckinley7985 You are wrong on everything. A plane ride itself is relatively short. But in US, most passengers spend an hour to 2 hours in airport for one flight. This is all without getting to final destination. So in simple terms, if you were to traverse from LAX to SF, the total time spent going from LAX and SF would be approximately hour 50 min to 2 hour 50 min. Now let's take HSR being built in California. That line will take 2 hr 40 min for passengers to traverse LA to SF. In simple terms, you aren't really losing any time when you are taking HSR or plane. Even more, a train is more fuel efficient. You cannot electrify airplanes. You can electrify trains. Instead of thousands of cars making countless journey, few train rides will do enough. That's simply too good of a return on fuel output. I think you fail to understand how big countries like China and Japan are. Japan from tip to tip is basically the length of Maine to Florida. Land mass doesn't fucking matter at all when trains, cars, and planes need to travel distances. Japan in length is pretty large. Now let's take a look at China which is the leader of HSR. That fucking country is almost big as US but they developed HSR and most Chinese would take HSR. Look i know you are a fucking fat American who likes their big car, big house, big yard, etc but that's unsustainable. If US keeps living like that, it will only drive itself into debt. Unless you are willing to pay for the entire cost of road you are using, utilities you are using, etc, then US will keep on diving itself into debt. There is a reason why many cities in US are tearing down highways. They destroy economic value in cities. Highways themselves disturb economic exchange. With more walkable cities being planned out and built, a lot of US cities are seeing more revenue growth in those districts. Suburbs are burden to US economies. We only have them because white people didn't want to live with black people anymore. Get your facts straight before spouting nonsense like God engineered the land itself deliberately for cars. Then why is that not the case in China? For fucking thousands of years, China has been fine without cars. Fuck your god and your religion. You are sole reason why US is fucked.
Being born and raised in Seattle, my mom and I took Amtrak 'Empire Builder' to Whitefish for my great grandmother's funeral back in 1985. It was was a fun ride, but we had the economy class. A lot has changed since then and train rides also different. Anyway, thank you for sharing your experience on Amtrack.
For the $1,000 price tag, one would expect so much more for a sleeper train journey. But you made the best out of every minute, every corner and every detail with your video.😄
Yes, it's true, I agree that the price is very expensive, one thousand dollars is equivalent to more than 4 thousand Malaysian ringgit, for me it's quite a budget if traveling to America, not to mention the very weak ringgit has a bad effect if traveling to America, a rich and expensive developed country
This is why your followers in the US love your videos on Japanese trains! Unfortunately this is the usual experience here, ferries also. So glad to see there is better elsewhere :) Canada does a pretty good job :)
Solo, you defenatly are the best and most hilarious travel youtuber around. The fact is, at my age I don't do many more travel, but watching your videos, in some way, they fulfill my bucket list ! :-)
Seeing your videos, all those Japanese trains travels, getting used to see the top level quality and cleanliness and then watching this American train.... makes the difference leagues ahead.
the American Experience so neatly summed up in a single train ride still kinda wild to see you literally traveled straight through my city, I probably even saw your train from my parking space at work lol. i hope you had a safe and cleaner plane ride.
We were excited to see you travel in America! Unfortunately the most expensive places to travel are the coasts...I'm not surprised you had some sticker shock. Also sorry the trains here aren't nearly as nice as in Japan. Really hope you enjoyed your trip despite the surprises!
@@Flowerboi313 The bathroom is because this as a wheelchair room. It is a private bathroom and due to the small size of the train, they can't put a wall in and have a wheelchair be able to get in.
@@Flowerboi313 nothing to be ashamed of. If you’ve traveled enough places, you’ll see that North America is one of the few most accommodating places to the less privileged including handicapped and some of these modifications unfortunately have to be this way. If you visit most of the other countries places including well developed, their subways are all stairs so if you are on wheelchair? Too bad for you.
@@jfk5402 The thing is, is that Amtrak charges you a premium price, for a less than mediocre experience. Back when it was still a privately operated business, it was a really nice experience. It's government run these days, and they are inept at everthing they get their hands on. Comparing my experience on this train from 25 years ago to 2 years ago, is like night & day. The train cars are so outdated, rundown and overpriced for cabin rooms, that I personally will no longer use Amtrak. It's pretty bad, especially when comparing train travel here versus Japan's. No comparison.
As soon as I saw the title I wanted to apologize lol. Our transport quality is horrible and the cost of EVERYTHING is so bad. Your videos make me want to experience what real, clean, affordable transport is like!
the fact that whats reality is USA is furthest thing from rest of the world should give you a hint, our misery is fabricated, its intentional, its by design, its by the will of American corporations and politicians.

I felt the same way. Lol! So sorry for Solo that he went through that, but now I understand why he calls Room H's cursed. I am appalled that they purposely designed a bathroom like that, with an accordion door that was left open to smell up another compartment. Duh!

Thank you for being one of the few to do Seattle to LA. Most show the opposite and I wanted to see our route! The captions were so funny, I’m sorry our trains and inflation sucks 😂

I was surprised that it was a "room inside the toilet" rather than a "room next to the toilet".😅 I'm a little curious if it's the price because the toilet is next to it, or if other rooms of the same type are the same price. I adore traveling by train...Thank you for the fun video😆
@user-ib7cy3qy6p His room was next to the toilet, yes; but as nothing could stop the odor from that not-too-clean neighboring public toilet from entering his $1,000 room, "room inside the toilet" must be considered as a smart/fun way to describe the reality.
@@natsuminofan He mentioned he was in an "accessibility room" so most likely for someone with a wheelchair, hence the easy access bathroom. I dont understand why other people were able to use it too though? You're right, $1000 is a LOT of money to be sleeping next to the toilet separated by a curtain... Doesn't seem right at all.
I've been watching your channel for a while now and it's really cool to see you travel in the U.S. I was on the Coast Starlight 11 this past weekend traveling from Portland to San Luis Obispo. $1000?!!!! I had no idea our train tickets were that’s expensive. That’s almost the price of a business class flight, omg. I’m sorry the trip didn’t live up to its price tag. The foods you were unsure of: breakfast plate- the big mystery bread is called a biscuit. I guess it’s like a scone (if you ever get the chance to, please try biscuits and sausage gravy, it’s AMAZING). Your dinner plate…I couldn’t really make out what the filling was, but that was either an empanada or a hand pie, not dumpling. It’s very dependent on the filling. As soon as I saw where you were, I knew this would be hilarious. I'm on Eastern side of U.S. I've taken Amtrak from North Carolina to New York City, round trip, a couple times. You were actually on a nicer Amtrak than the ones I traveled on. The U.S. is very expensive. Your country, trains, buses, everything is so much cleaner. Our country is beautiful in the lesser spoiled areas. I love my Country. It's the greed and lack of respect that is ruining it.
I never expected to see you riding through landscape so familiar to me when I first started following this channel. Welcome through Oregon! I've ridden this exact train between Oregon and Seattle. Sorry you had to deal with that terrible room location.
You also have to consider the size of Japan compared to Canada or the US. Here in Canada, we have about 37 million people nationwide. Anything like Japan has would rarely be utilized to merit the update. We have so far to travel from one side to the other. With night stops, it would take 7-10 days to drive from one side to the other. It's 5 days from Toronto to Vancouver on a train, at $2500pp average, and it is moving most of the time. No one here ever needs to really go very far. The biggest and most profitable stretch here is between Windsor and Montreal, which is a day trip - 10 hours by car. We just do not have the population or demand to warrant a luxury-type train system like Japan.
@@mimiagain for sure. I have even watched some of the videos where it literally only takes a day or so to go from Japan end to end. Living in the US it can sometimes take a day just to get across a single medium sized state. Japan definitely has far less area to cover. However, I am in awe of even Japans everyday public transportation. Everything seems so well maintained and regulated in both buses and commuter trains. Not many major US cities seem to put that much care into their metro transportation systems.

You mean that this train has daily service, is much more affordable, and carries over four times as many passengers than the dying remains of the Canadian?
@@JuanSanchezGuerra well it's true the Canadian is more of a vacation trip train now compared to what it used to be decades ago. Without even converting the cost into USD the price per hour on the via train is cheaper based on what solo solo payed.
Canadian railways was privatized in 1995 (or so). it makes huge differences. just look at around world and compare state owned to private owned, almost in any industry, all the same story.
@@SLee-vj4px NO, Canadian National Railways (freight only) was privatized in 1995. Canadian Pacific has always been private, and VIA has always been a public failure. It is true, however, that CN went to hell when E. Hunter Harrison took over and started on a maniacal asset stripping campaign.

Japan has far worse inflation, among other things. Likewise, comparing something individual like trains can be done with something else like stores and Japan loses. Housing sector, etc.
@@blanktrigger8863 CPI for Japan has been between -1% and 2.4 from now to June 2020 and it's been between .7% and 9.1% in the US. Housing price index was up about about 7% in 2021 in Japan and 17% in the US.
I and my wife just rode this train a few times. Once from LA to Seattle and again from Oakland to Seattle. The person making these vids is bang on. The 1980's Superliners are built from aluminum, and are falling apart. Republicans will ensure high speed rail as it exists in Japan will never happen in the US. The Solo Travel gut was apparently in a room, but also demonstrates a roomette. The lower level room he sleeps in is generally reserved for the handicapped or morbidly obese. The real way to go aboard Amtrak is to book early, and book an upper level room. Not only meals, delivered to your room if you like, you get a private shower and toilet, and unlike the lower level, it's not stinky. And in addition, there's enough room to swing a cat, should you happen to have one. A roomette, like the one this guy booked, is ok for one person or two people if one is highly athletic. You absolutely don't want to travel coach. Traveling coach puts you in with the 'great unwashed' and their hyperkinetic screaming offspring, plus you do NOT have access to the dining car. The dining car is reserved for people in sleepers only. The reason the solo traveler paid $1K for his roomette is because he did it at the last minute. $750 would be about right for those wise enough to book early. A full room would go for $1200 up. But what the hell. As Dr. Hunter S. Thompson once said, "Buy a ticket, take the ride!" Train is still the best way to travel, and in a •room•, unless you're solo, in which case a roomette will do. And, if you travel room or roomette having access to the dining car is worth its weight in gold; Amtrak food is very good. Otherwise you're stuck with hot dogs and overpriced booze in the Cafe, which opens erratically.
Honestly coach isn’t even THAT bad. I’ve ridden it a few times and it’s not terribly loud. At least at night when it counts. And the seats are super comfortable

Ah, your last two videos were in North America! It's cool to finally see you review the options here!! However, I was dreading this would happen! Amtrak's trains are notoriously outdated and overnight options get VERY expensive. At least the view and food seemed nice. But you went for the cheesecake twice, those berries must have made it really sweet! Long distance rail is usually only this good. The California Zephyr would have been a better route (even though this one had a pretty route) and train too, but it's still Amtrak. Intercity rail tends to vary in quality as it has many different regional operators, but that's usually where you'd see some with higher quality. Although maybe it isn't really worth reviewing compared to long distance. The Acela route is probably a nicer train, and the only high speed train route in the US. It's cars are meant to be upgraded in the coming months and will be a lot nicer, but it already is better than the long distance trains it seems. San Francisco actually hosts, if I recall, overnight buses which offer small roomettes for a bus journey. Those are good quality from what I've seen. I don't know what other long forms of travel are as abundant, I don't believe long distance ferries are common over here. Maybe there actually are. But it is still cool to see a video fo you reviewing a US train. I'm happy to see one from you! Your videos are a lot of fun and I like your humor!
Sadly America's passenger trains are far behind Japan's trains. Most of the railways in America is used for transporting goods. It's too bad that there is no singular train from East Coast to West Coast; it would also be super expensive.

America is really lacking when it comes to public transport, so the prices are inflated as hard as they are because this sleeper train is considered a novelty to squeeze cash out of tourists more than anything. Same with the overpriced souvenirs. There's plenty of neat things to see and do there, but your only transportation options really are just "dude just drive" or "dude just take a plane."
that's why America is more about the progress of its country but in other chapters it lost, that's why in Asia we learn to perfect everything and westerners come and say they are very satisfied with the sensitive and kind attitude of Asia
Your silent commentary is hilarious. I subscribed just for that reason. Next visit the Arizona desert. You won’t be disappointed. The mountains, deserts, lakes and views are like nothing else.
Congrats on coming over to America and riding Amtrak. I visited Japan twice, but only rode commuter trains between Tokyo, Yokohama, and Narita. Been riding trains all my life, mostly between Chicago and New Orleans. (Relating to apologetic comments) All of America's travel options need to have an upgrade of sorts, but realize Americans fill highways, airways, and rails and many ways we as a group reap what we sow. Excellent video, I really enjoyed thanks!
I rode Amtrak’s Coast Starlight 3 times. The trip of 35 hour is too long when the trip can be made in about 10 hours less if they wanted to run it that fast. The stops in Portland, Sacramento, Emeryville can be only 15 minutes each and the run times between Seattle & Portland can be done in just 2 hours, 45 minutes, 1 hour,45 minutes between Portland & Eugene,OR, between Redding & Sacramento it can be made in 3 hours, Sacramento & San Jose in 2 hours,30 minutes, and between Santa Barbara & Los Angeles in just 90 minutes. When Amtrak got started in 1971, the Coast Starlight took only 28 hours.
16:23 It's an American biscuit, not to be confused with the British biscuit. It's similar to the British scone, but it has soft, flaky layers. You can split it horizontally, and put something inside it and eat it like a sandwich. Sausage is very good on it, as is chicken-fried steak. Or you can put jam and butter on it, and eat it like a dessert. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah, not surprising the cost of things in California. Come on out to the midwest or East coast and we will show you a good time!! Thanks for the video!!
Imagine paying 1,000 dollars for this room hahaha. Oh and Happy belated independence day🇺🇸
Thank you! Amtrak is nothing compared to your trains however.
the room you are in is the wheelchair assessable room. Not ideal at all. I would rather be in a small roomette, even on the lower level, but the upper level is better
You really pay this much for THIS?! Well, thank for all, i really like your channel! ❤🍃
You are the king of terrible value for money... they must think train enthusiasts are all suckers
So get a good room, because you will be stuck in it sometimes :^)
Barb eh?
Vocês não gostam dos trens, ônibus, acham caro os hotéis. Precisam conhecer o Brasil 🤣
That's sad. America used to be a top railway nation. You should start riding trains again! Maybe if your government invested more in them.
I can't believe this man rode an Amtrak.
I can't believe this man SURVIVED riding an Amtrak.
No hairdryer and you have a to share a lounge with the coach passengers. How DID he do it!?!?
@@pbyguy7059 Of course you wouldn't mention the smelly ass room lol. If I paid 1 grand for 2 nights on a train, I'd sure as hell hope to have sleeping room that does NOT smell like literal shit.
@@pbyguy7059 Bring you own hair dryer, there are electric outlets/sockets... Or use a towel to dry your head...

Дорогой друг, спасибо за Ваше видео и интересную поездку по Америке! У Вас отличное чувство юмора!
I'm pretty sure it's just their base price for a roomette
The new superliner cars are specified to have some nice improvements--there will be lifts in many cars, and the core of the train (some of coach, the diner, lounge, and sleeper) will all have accessible corridor passages on the upper level between cars.
As a person living in Western US, our passenger rail infrastructure is definitely in need of a major improvement and is very behind from your home country of Japan. I really enjoyed your video and your snarky commentary about inflation! Safe travels
I absolutely agree, I envision greatness but left with, we need to desperately improve and update our rail lines.
Why need improvement? Only a small percentage of the population wants to travel by trains.
Así es.
It was only 140 when I rode it Bellingham to San Diego. No sleeper though
If you book early they are way cheeper
This is why your followers in the US love your videos on Japanese trains! Unfortunately this is the usual experience here, ferries also. So glad to see there is better elsewhere :) Canada does a pretty good job :)

@user-ib7cy3qy6p His room was next to the toilet, yes; but as nothing could stop the odor from that not-too-clean neighboring public toilet from entering his $1,000 room, "room inside the toilet" must be considered as a smart/fun way to describe the reality.

See this and the Canadian one reminds me why I love watching your videos of trips in Japan. Japan just does public transportation so much better.
He was constrained by the uncomfortable environment and conditions, which he was not at all up to panoramas. Let's hope that someday a sponsor will for him show up and Solo-solo will drive along the coast already filming the landscapes of Oregon.🤩😌🧐
"America I love you" with Chinese dialog in background. 😁 We are all good.
I commuted via Amtrak between Sacramento and Emeryvile for around a year so I was able to know how far you were between there by the scenery. The commuter trains were even worse, but sometimes had a business class car hooked up in the evenings so I could sleep on the way home.

You always post such great videos! Thanks!
“Land of freedom, McDonald’s & inflation” had me 💀 Solo-san described America perfectly 😂 As an American, I apologize for this shitty train service & accommodations compared to Canada/Japan for $1K … it’s absurd! I hope you enjoyed some sight seeing to make up for it!
Japan has far worse inflation, among other things. Likewise, comparing something individual like trains can be done with something else like stores and Japan loses. Housing sector, etc.
@@blanktrigger8863 who asked?
@@Marc-ny6mg Nobody needed to ask.
@@blanktrigger8863 It's not a pissing match between countries. Why beeing so defensive ? Stop beeing anal about it.
Yeah, like Democrat California Dream train to nowhere. Route kept getting shorter and the price kept going up.
LOL at "the great unwashed and their hyperkinectic screaming offspring"!
Honestly coach isn’t even THAT bad. I’ve ridden it a few times and it’s not terribly loud. At least at night when it counts. And the seats are super comfortable
I have never seen such advanced trains. The video is really good
I can’t tell you the level of happiness it has brought me to have found your channel. I love that you bring all of us on your adventures and your humor is by far the best for these travel vlogs 🖤 i’m so sorry that America is so jacked up, but we still are grateful and happy you chose to take some of your adventures here!! You were actually so close to where I live (when you were in Seattle) it would have been AH-MAZING to have has the honour to meet you!! Keep it up and thanks for the many adventures!!! 🖤🖤🖤
美国人强大的火车。是中国人不愿意看到的!
It's high season for trains so it's gonna bump up prices. I took the California Zephyr on the longer Chicago-San Francisco route and only paid $566 for a roommette. It happened to be in January though. Highly recommend because you get to see the Rockies and the Sierra Nevada mountain ranges.
Prices fluctuate on trains here just like planes. It's unfortunate that he paid so much for only half of the trip on the actual Pacific.
Exactly, I did the Zephyr Chi-Sac in 2020...and paid about the same. Travel in low season is most economical.

@@Ndstars1 Right, right... hahaha. Most possibly I will travel to Japan and try those experiences there. Seems a lot more fitting to the "luxurious travel" description?
Love your channel!! Inspired by your channel to travel and make videos in Japan!!
There are quite a few doing the same, it is very much same thing for Japan. This is why I prefer this channel because he goes outside of Japan. I think I have seen so many based in Japan now they all the same, gets a bit boring after a while.
Just so you know, the "Japan travel video" market is VERY saturated right now. You will have to be creative to bring in views. I hope you succeed!

SST-san, i watch your videos to escape the horrors of the US and you're just dragging me back in T.T

I used to work next door to the Uwajimaya and King Street Station in Seattle, and rode the commuter train through King Street Station frequently before COVID. It's a bit odd seeing an area I used to be in daily on a Japanese travel channel. And I'm pretty sure I'd rather just fly to Los Angeles. Actually for $1,000 I'd just rent a car and drive there.
Same here. My high school prom was held in King Street Station. I’m embarrassed by the conditions of our infrastructure. Ugh.
@@jennyjennybobenny8866 it hasn't been all that long that King Street Station was nice enough for that. From the 1960s up to the late 1990s all the nice architectural features were covered up by a soulless drop ceiling and walls that made it look like your average Greyhound station until it was restored about 15 years ago.

I tell everyone to plan their Amtrak train journey to arrive at your destination a day early, if not sooner. Unlike airlines. On the overnight sleeper Amtrak sleeper trains, there is one train daily, or thrice weekly services. At any connecting city spend a day there and enjoy a layover. Every connecting city is worthy of a day's layover, if not more. Don't fret over late trains, plan accordingly. Fares are dynamic like all of the hospitality industry, the fuller the train. the higher the fare. Book early, and join Amtrak's rewards program, get notifications of special promotions which can save you a lot of money. After all, we are living in the twenty first century...

Hello, thanks a lot for sharing this amazing videowalk. It is a pleasure to watch your Videos. Keep on going this good work. Many greetings from good old Vienna 🎡 🎩
The only thing that’s good is the scenery and food but that’s it
that's why America is more about the progress of its country but in other chapters it lost, that's why in Asia we learn to perfect everything and westerners come and say they are very satisfied with the sensitive and kind attitude of Asia

Formal and Amtrak dont mix haha. It's one of the nice things though about it compared to our overly secure and stressful, flight industry.
It’s my understanding that they don’t have right of way over freight that’s why it takes so long.
