Ground beef needs to be freshly minced in order to not allow bacteria to develop. So if you buy ground beef at the grocery store and cook it rare you can get sick, but if a restaurant prepares it on the spot its safe!
Even if he has fallen off a bit, I still owe it to the snap gods that the first ever spotlight cache I opened gave me Jeff from the random series 4/5 card. This was back when I was only 1200 collection level, so I had the best card in the game while I was still in pool 2. Epic
Beefs minimum cook temp is 145°f. Beef is a low risk meat. If its handled well and from a reputable provider, you can eat it raw (like in a tartare) like high end fish. Medium rare is the proper way to cook a burger thats relatively thick and thats a hill I'll die on. Just bc you're canadian doesn't mean your burger has to be a hockey puck! (On that note, cant wait for hockey season. The Blue Jackets might actually be ok for once so im pumped!)
You can %100 eat steak raw, tartare is made by grinding superior cuts of meat. But *most* ground beef isn't. Took some cooking classes and what we were taught is that risk isn't so much the raw meat as e coli from the butchering process, since often fouled or less desirable cuts are what is ground. Generally the closer you get to the digestive tract the cheaper the cuts are. So if they are grinding meat that is normally used in roasts and steaks up to make burgers in house, hell yeah get it any way you want it! but if they aren't, get it cooked IMO.
I'll chime in on the burger rareness topic: cooking ground beef is normally cooked to well done because ground beef tends to have more bacteria. This is due to the increased surface area as the meat is ground. In the case of the steak, bacteria will really only have a chance at the surface of a steak, which is why a sear on the edge works well to kill the bacteria. A burger can be cooked rare or higher, but should only be done where the beef is freshly ground on location, along with a very clean kitchen. While surface area of the meat is increased during the grinding, the bacteria won't have time to proliferate if cooked immediately after ground. As for ordering at restaurants, it depends on whether you trust the establishment or not. I'm sure there are restaurant that offer this, but are not considering the safety of it all.
As a professional cook and Head Chef, I approve this message. ❤ I would only serve a burger rare or mid rare if I had fresh ground the meat immediately before cooking it.
As someone with some game development experience and is a c++ programmer, I believe it is 100% possible for them to have arishem generate the entire deck. If they want to be real lazy about it they can keep the deck creation the same, so you have 11 other cards you picked, but then on arishem's effect in game in randomizes the entire deck, including the cards you put in. Speed/wiccan decks are honestly in my top3 decks now 1.beta ray/thor 2.loki 3.wiccan/speed My fear with loki is if they nerf him he will truly be dead unless it’s a arishem deck
Number 1 and 2 on your list are flipped for me but I too am a hammer enjoyer, freaking love that deck. My 3 would be Ultron I think we're in the minority when it comes to Loki though, so many people want him deleted from the game all together. I don't own Arishem, wouldn't play him if I did.
Mailbag: I agree that they desperately need to rework the variant shop in some form. I had an idea that once you hit a CL milestone, you get more slots in your store. My suggestion is every 3k CL you get 1 more variant option in the store, with a cap of course.
I’d love to see more cards that manipulate locations because I feel it’s such an underrated aspect of the game. I’m specifically talking about cards like Magik or Legion who create specific locations because it could make for some really interesting plays. An idea I had for one would be the bartender from Bar with no Name who would be a 6-20 that would read ‘You can only play this at locations where you have no cards, On Reveal: Change the current location to A Bar with No Name’. Could make for an interesting tech card that punishes the opponent for ramping too high in one lane but if you play it somewhere they haven’t committed then you lose because of it’s 20 power. I had to add the ‘only where you have no cards’ because otherwise it could go into Cosmo and be a free Infinaut.
huge cerebro change: make it target the *MOST COMMON power(s) on your side*, not the highest. this protects you from bullcrap like monster island while keeping cerebro's original identity and purpose. it doesn't punish you for things you can't control. it also greatly diversifies the ways you can play cerebro: - you can continue playing it normally, focusing on only having the most effective cards of the desired power - you can take advantage of the flexibility to run big cards that cerebro would normally never run - notice how i put power(s) instead of power? you can go the OPPOSITE direction and play cerebro in an even SMARTER way, focusing on dividing cerebro's effect between MULTIPLE powers by playing identical amounts of each (probably far less effective but more fun) i feel like this cerebro change is mandatory for cerebro to have any viability again; other options don't fix the biggest conceptual problems cerebro currently has (also it would give us an excuse to nerf ultron)
Small correction- it’s AD (anno domini ) translates to “in the year of our lord”. Many think it is (after death), but what do we label the 30 some years he was alive?
Not quite a mailbag, BUT a point for Hulkling review next week: The problem with him (and the tier list that y'all made) is that a vanilla 6/11 is NOT "C-Tier," It is F-tier. No one played vanilla hulk, so getting a vanilla 6-11 is trash. Your deck is not built for cards like Odin, Onslaught, and Spectrum either, so they are vanilla cards most of the time as well. The "S-Tier" and "A-Tier" cards mentioned are the only ones that you might be excited to get in reality, which means over 50% of the time he is undesirable.
Arishem starting in your hand is the next step for me. Reduces the chance of the Quinjet Loki 1-2. Maybe also reduce Arishem’s power to 5 to make it feel like more of a brick
Literally just make Arishem completely random with no deck around him. I knew this would happen with this card, completely asinine design. You can't make a card that grants energy cheat and any type of consistency because then you're just breaking your own game. Let him keep the energy cheat but remove the competitiveness. Make him a fun, draft-style card which sates veteran players and remains a perfect card for newcomers as well.
Had some spare keys, so decided to go for Speed after your verdict - Jeff Variant, Makkari... then Speed. Then won four games on the trot in a Spectrum deck to get the 300 tokens. Not too shabby!
I think the best balance to arishem is giving it the thanos and loki treatment Make start in your hand +1 max energy But then change the shuffle to replace So instead of adding 15 randoms cards to your deck it replaces your deck from the start with 15 or 18 random cards
Mailbag: is it a surprise to you that popular marvel characters like dormammu haven’t been added to the game yet? Also, who’s a character that isn’t very known that you’d like to see added to the game? Thanks for the great content and I wish you guys the best:)
Mailbag: There are a few dials I would consider with Arishem. Here’s a few. Give -1 to every card in his deck and hand. Make him a negative power card that is added to the board at the end of the game. (This feels in-character to me. This option also puts additional pressure to strategically play the random cards instead of throwing random BS onto the board. Another option is to make him automatically Snap at the start of the game (or at least after Turn 1).
Mailbag: an idea for arishem rework, keep the +1 max energy but change the effect to work like the location tarnax 1 “at the start of the game switch each card in your deck for a different card of the same cost” you could then build your deck to have your least favourite cards in the costs that you want and make sure arishem doesn’t generate them for you as the cards will always different. What are your thoughts?
I always thought that one way they could mess with Arishem is make it so the random cards added get a minus 1-cost. That way you still get the bonus but also can’t ramp out your true combo pieces right away
Arishem fix: At the start of the game, half of your starting deck is replaced with 15 random cards. You end up only having half of your original deck and 15 randoms. So you won’t pull your key cards barely as often.
Copy Cat has become one of my favorite 3-drops. Whenever I'm not sure what to include or just want to substitute a 3-drop in a deck - Copy Cat fills the role perfectly and it almost alway is worth it.
I had a couple ideas for nerfs that could address some of the issues you talked about. I think they make a slight difference but will help! Gilgamesh - Moves to a 6 cost - reduces the boost of playing an additional 1 cost on turn 6 Mockingbird - Cost reduction caps at 1 - prevents hugely OP plays on turn 6, especially with Gilgamesh Arishem - The bonus energy only remains whilst Arishem is in your hand or deck. This would mean Loki would still be OP if you draw Arishem, but you could also specify the bonus energy only applies if you have 17 or more cards in your deck for example. This could even introduce cards like Cable as a counter to Arishem by thinning your deck or something
I feel like they should let you buy the variants straight out of the albums instead of waiting multiple months to see the variant you're waiting for to complete an album! There are just too many variants at this point to be able to find the one you're looking for.
Speed is great because no one wants to use Enchantress on him when you know there other other more crucial ongoing cards that your opponent has coming.
Mailbag Question: Throughout Marvel's history, they have published comic books for other properties such as Star Wars, Predator, and Transformers to name a few. Would you ever want to see the game branch out into third party characters that have a history with Marvel Comics? Personally, I'd be okay with it, but only much later down the line when Second Dinner has inevitably run out of notable Marvel Characters and are on to exclusively the D-Listers.
I once saw someone online suggesting that the random cards Arishem adds to your deck should include tokens, and I think that might be a pretty viable fix. Squirrels, ninjas, rocks, even widow's bites/kisses. It could distinguish from the two groups of cards and add, say, 6 tokens and 6 regular cards. It would also give it an easy way to tweak it, without changing the card text or anything like that, by adjusting how many of the cards are coming out of each group. It could also create a new way to play Patriot, which could be fun.
This is a cool idea too. There is still a chance to highroll some good tokens, but even then I think Arishem can be powerful for the text effects more so than power output. I like it
Mailbag: What do you think of adding "cards cannot have their cost reduced" to an add to Arishem? Solves the Loki and Quinjet issue. And/Or replaces the entire deck with random cards.
I like your first idea. Maybe have him start in hand so his effect is always active. The +1 energy is like an on reveal, so it doesn’t matter. The no cost reduction is like an ongoing, it makes more sense in hand so Loki can’t replace it. My logic anyway.
Fellow Canadian here, your 100% right Alex, it is against food code to serve a burger anyway but well done due to the way hamburger is made, and I cannot fathom eating it any other way
On arishem - give all cards you place in your deck plus one cost so that they can only come out on the turns otherwise available in other decks and only the random cards get cheated out early based on the higher max energy - so Loki placed in your deck is 4/5 but Loki randomly added to the deck is 3/5. That seems fair to me and adjusting costs is already in the code. So you can plant all the tech cards you want but your blob is 7/0 if you plant it or 6/0 if you random draw it.
Mailbag: Hulkling so far seems pretty lackluster for a Series 5 release, what are your guys’ thoughts on if he was a 5-Cost, 7 or so power, but his ability cycles each turn in your hand like Nico?
My idea for the Loki/Arishem situation: Make Arishem replace your deck at the beginning of the game with the opponent's deck, still with the extra power. Loki, replace the oppoents hand with random cards with -1 cost. I feel like these effects match up with the character motifs a bit better. Arishem "The Judge", you can conquer others with your deck, but can you conquer yourself? Loki, the god of mischief, doesn't currently do anything particularly mischievous? I always thought it was strange he wasn't a more disruptive card. Also I'm just spit balling here, not saying these are good ideas, just throwing my poorly made hat in the ring lol
Speed is a good card but ultimately replaceable. Lots of people already have Jeff and/or Iron Lad so it's not worth investing the keys. However, Speed will start showing up in meta decks because he is generally the biggest 3-Cost, and lots of people will start complaining that they didn't get him due to his lackluster reception.
General rule of thumb in the US is not to get anything "ground beef" less than Medium UNLESS you know the butcher/restaurant is good. If you get the burger at a high end steak house, go for it. If you're going to Applebee's, maybe don't risk it. Though, if you Sous Vide the burger first, you can cook it to pretty much any temperature within reason since you can cook it longer at the low temp and still kill the bacteria if you sous vide it long enough.
Thoughts on the recent buying of a card and then the nerf happening: Second Dinner has a plan ahead of time for the OTAs and Patches. They could just pull those cards from rotation in the shop. If I don’t ever see the card I can’t buy it and be mad when they change it quickly.
Mail bag: As a FTP player I feel like a new card every week is overwhelming cause I never know what I should get and should pass on so my question is a card acquisition question but what are your guys thoughts on every 60 levels you get a 50/50 roll on a S4/s5 card or the new spotlight card and on the flip side every 120 levels you get a spotlight key? A lot of mobile games do the 50/50 thing and it works well I think if done correctly it would feel more rewarding getting new cards as well as making free to play players more excited for new cards.
Totally feel you Alex on that burger king whopper. I don't eat them much as of late but there's only on bk that rock with near me that makes them perfectly.
17:50 I don't think that it's a "coding problem" per se. I feel like if they can code Loki into copying your opponent's deck, they could probably code Arishem so that he makes all the cards in your deck random as well. Also they have District X that already replaces your deck with random cards, so it's definitely possible. I'm not saying that's the solution, but I feel like it's not impossible for the devs to do. I think the problem is that their initial design for the card was that having X number of cards added at random to your deck was supposed to be this big draw back/toss up since you couldn't reliably get the cards you wanted, but when it got out of the lab and into everyone's hands, it turns out that having a guaranteed free energy at the start of the game without having to play a card for it made it so that you were outpacing your opponent with cards most of the time and REALLY outpacing them if you had Quin Jet/Loki. I think that making the whole deck random would probably be fine balance-wise, but it may not be very fun as you're skipping the deck building process which is half of the fun in card games. Adding more random cards to Arishem would make it less likely that you're hitting Quin Jet/Loki, but I don't think it'd change anything all that much tbh. Here's my dumb idea: Make it so that Arishem starts in your hand and you are FORCED to play him if able. This way, he has sort of the same inherent restriction of the other ramp cards (having to play them), but in a different way. Instead of having to play Electro/Corvus/Wave on turn 3 and using that turn as an investment for turns 4, 5, and 6 to pop off, with Arishem you get to play ahead 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 and then on 6 is when Ari collects on the debt. This would mean that your opponent could pop off on turn 6 leaving you with little to no response, but hopefully (probably) your board is strong enough from the earlier turns to survive it. You could also cheat out Ari by hitting Wave or Lady Sif, so that if you wanted to have a big last turn pop off you could. I feel this is still fair because you're still having to pay something for your free energy. Idk if this is the answer, but at least on paper, it seems more fair to me than what it is now without ruining the fun parts of the card. I'm sure there's better ideas out there though.
Increase Mobius to 3/5 or 3/4. Just a bigger stat line to incetivize people putting him into their decks. Better bandaid solution for arishem/loki while people figure it out more.
This is completely off topic from the things you discussed in this video but maybe for a future video you could give your opinions on Alliances so far. I keep finding the bounties extremely repetitive and not very fun. Mine are currently filled with Destroy 8 cards in a match 0/4. And Discard 8 cards in a match or whatever the text reads on that one. I think the bounties would be better if it included some deck building ones like the "Win with X in your Deck" Missions that we get from time to time. For instance: Win 3 games with X (card) and Y (different card) in you deck. Or even push it up to 3 or 4 cards.
Best card in the game is always going to be wong. I just love doing dirty wongbo combos 😂. My favs at each slot. 1- Nico Minorou 2-Ravona 3- too many good 3 cost! Nocture, Surfer, loki, hope, copy Cat, venom... 4-Wong! Shang chi! 5- very hard to pick one here... Blink? Iroman? Namora? Lots of great five drops. 6- Arnim Zola, Odin or Redhulk.
Makkari is my unexpected MVP in any deck that requires priority. She's great in Mr Ronan alioth deck. She's also really good in an Agatha deck I'm finding out. One less tool for Agatha to screw up with
38:01 - I agree. Steak, when it's a whole cut of meat? Sure, eat it raw. Minced meat? Hell no, it was all mixed up and the bacteria from the surface are inside too. Get it just fully grilled man.
For the mailbag : - the beginning of Alliances was quite good when everyone was on it, the game felt more balanced as more player ended playing more various decks. But almost nobody's trying anymore, rewards sucks, some missions too long or complicated to achieve. Don't you think making it easier and give better rwards and missions would fix most of the game balance issues ? What's your take on this ? - talking about balance : seeing the fresh beast / bounce nerf that just happened, what's your opinion on balance patch who tends to hurt more than anything "thought" plays and usually kills them as opposed to big cards and "braindead" ones that are slightly touched. They justify task and beast like it's gonna make a too big human torch and at the same time irontribunal is still a thing and they render Loki availabale at turn 1 for Arishem. Thank you !
Can't agree more with Alex, there's tons of cards if like to try, but being that, I am mostly a free to play player(aside from the occasional season pass) it's hard to decide what cards to spend keys on and what to wait for and spend tokens on
They need to make it so Loki doesn't replace the randomly generated cards in an Arishem deck, just the "original deck." Any kind of loki effect that eliminates the randomness of Arishem will always be a problem.
Honestly I just got ariehem a couple weeks ago. And Cassandra just pummels the deck if you draw bricks. She’s the Shang chi of arishem it feels like. Although for lower CL players or those who didn’t get her through Deadpool’s diner they still might find a way to give him a lil bonk. 90% of the games I run into are Cassandra implemented decks. 😭
Hey Fellas. Love the SCP. Had a question for the mailbag that I'm pretty sure Cozy may poo poo, but like the spotlight cache, "hoping for the best" With the soon-to-be Activate feature, what would your thoughts be to having a "linked-type" activation. For example, you get +1 to playing 2 members of the Fantastic Four, +2 for having 2 on the board and +4 for all 4. Mr Fantastic for the subliminal buff win?
Mailbag: hey guys, do you think we should have a tech card for extra energy, a la Mobius to cost or Cosmo to On Reveal? Something like “Ongoing: Players can only have the standard amount of Energy per turn”
I think Arishem should simply replace 6 of your cards with random cards. You can still have a little control over what your deck looks like but it leans into the randomness i think a lot of people were hoping Arishem would have cause he doesnt feel very random to me when i play him. Sure there's the chance I'll draw 6 random cards in a row but most of my games i wind up playing the exact same play lines and that's very telling when 15 random cards are supposed to be in the way of those play lines.
It's like Arishem puts a majority of the random cards at the bottom of the deck. And on the other end of the spectrum subterranea puts all the rocks at the top of the deck lol.
Mailbag: First of all, i love you guys and Mondays waiting for the SnapChat to come out makes the first work day possible. Second, as far as expanding Marvel Snap's gameplay, is there something specific you all would like to see in terms of maybe more locations in a single game to compete over with larger decks or other variants? An idea I would love to see is maybe a 5 location game with either a 4 player free for all mode where the lowest power player gets knocked out or a 2v2 style team based mode where you and another person compete together to claim 3 out of 5 locations from another team of 2 players. What do you think?
One of the worst feelings I've had in Snap is when I used three keys last week (I know, I know) to try and get the Max Grecke Jeff variant. It's the only one I didn't get.
As a fellow Canadian, I was going to recommend La Belle et la Boeuf for a good "restaurant burger" but they only have locations in Quebec... so I guess next time you're in Quebec Alex!
Snapchat mailbag: I think there should be a clearer distinction between « revealed » « played » and « added ». Sometimes there are situations where the (last card played) effect actually targets the last « revealed » card. I’m also talking about things like Grand central and Sakaar. « Put a card »What does it mean? Also Shouldn’t Bishop gain the power before the reveal?
Here's a potential Arishem change: "Replace half of your deck with X random cards". This still allows for deck building, keeps the flavor of the card the same, but half of the games your Loki isn't even in the deck.
Cozy should go to Crazee Burger in North Park since he lives San Diego. My favorite burger joint out there. Friendly's makes an amazing smashburger also. Can't believe he only listed off chain fast food burger joints!
Copy cat is good because your opponent doesnt know what you took! Go figure surprise is a huge advantage in this game! Its why cable/arishem slap hard together. Its super good
I wanted to grab speed, but he's with two old cards that I've had forever and didn't want to bother wasting my keys to get only him. I gamba'd on one key and got a variant. I really wish the key system would not frontload the variants, so the initial keys could be at best a 50/50 with the random 4/5 slot still there.
I was struggling in the 80 range on ladder with multiple decks, with meta power houses like thena, copy cat, and Cassandra Nova. May be a skill issue, which is fine, however I swapped to an Arishem deck (and I don’t have mockingbird or blob) and I went 25-4. It just feels like cheating and easy mode, when I was struggling with the other decks.
Alex not knowing you can order different cooked states for burgers in Canada is wild xD not in every day fast food places but medium to high end restaurants you can definitely ask for the type you want. You gotta get out more Alex lol. no hate, you just made me laugh like crazy with the hot takes this snap chat - first the Uncle Ben one then this.
I've watched this several times to make sure I've heard correctly, but yea, many many people order their burgers medium rare - especially if the patty is 1/2 pound.
If I have Makkari, Location 1 with 3 cards, location 2 with 3 cards and Bar with no name with 0 cards, will she have a 33% chance of jumping to any location or she has more % chance to jump into bar?
What if we made Arishem a 7/12 to kinda make him in line with hulk/vanilla stat card but at the start of the game he changes all the cards in your deck to random cards. This means u can still get boosters on cards but it stops the loki/quinjet effects because they get changed into something random. It also means you're not hard countered by Cassandra nova or darkhawk anymore because you only have 12 cards in your deck. It might nerf him a bit but still keep his randomness identity
Arishem should read: "Draw this on turn one and replace your deck with random cards." The only cards you get from your deck design are the three you start the game with.
Did they change the way Super Skrull works? It used to be if you played yours after the opponent, you got your cards PLUS their Skrull. Now it doesn't seem to do that.

34:17 YES COZY I have literally been waiting on peach doctor strange since that album came out it’s the only one I need
I had to add the ‘only where you have no cards’ because otherwise it could go into Cosmo and be a free Infinaut.
huge cerebro change: make it target the *MOST COMMON power(s) on your side*, not the highest.
this protects you from bullcrap like monster island while keeping cerebro's original identity and purpose. it doesn't punish you for things you can't control.
it also greatly diversifies the ways you can play cerebro:
- you can continue playing it normally, focusing on only having the most effective cards of the desired power
- you can take advantage of the flexibility to run big cards that cerebro would normally never run
- notice how i put power(s) instead of power? you can go the OPPOSITE direction and play cerebro in an even SMARTER way, focusing on dividing cerebro's effect between MULTIPLE powers by playing identical amounts of each (probably far less effective but more fun)
i feel like this cerebro change is mandatory for cerebro to have any viability again; other options don't fix the biggest conceptual problems cerebro currently has
(also it would give us an excuse to nerf ultron)
15:00 Let's be honest there is BC (Before Christ) and AC (After Christ) irl, and there is BA (Before Arishem) and AA (After Arishem) in Marvel snap..
Buff Mobius
Make him so that your opponent can't gain extra energy. Nerfs arshium some and adds a tech card against other ramp decks
I could see that being a new card
Arishem starting in your hand is the next step for me. Reduces the chance of the Quinjet Loki 1-2. Maybe also reduce Arishem’s power to 5 to make it feel like more of a brick
No one plays the actual arishem card tbh
@@jameswalker7628that’s the point
Literally just make Arishem completely random with no deck around him. I knew this would happen with this card, completely asinine design. You can't make a card that grants energy cheat and any type of consistency because then you're just breaking your own game. Let him keep the energy cheat but remove the competitiveness. Make him a fun, draft-style card which sates veteran players and remains a perfect card for newcomers as well.
That would absolutely kill that deck imo
Maybe I’m an idiot, but wouldn’t Arishem starting in your hand increase the chance of drawing the cards you want to draw?
Had some spare keys, so decided to go for Speed after your verdict - Jeff Variant, Makkari... then Speed. Then won four games on the trot in a Spectrum deck to get the 300 tokens. Not too shabby!
I think the best balance to arishem is giving it the thanos and loki treatment
Make start in your hand
+1 max energy
But then change the shuffle to replace
So instead of adding 15 randoms cards to your deck it replaces your deck from the start with 15 or 18 random cards
I had a binder full of vintage Fievel Goes West trading cards.
I guess i am one of the few Arishem players that dont use Quinjet and Loki.. and i just got to Infinite the other day
Mailbag: an idea for arishem rework, keep the +1 max energy but change the effect to work like the location tarnax 1 “at the start of the game switch each card in your deck for a different card of the same cost” you could then build your deck to have your least favourite cards in the costs that you want and make sure arishem doesn’t generate them for you as the cards will always different. What are your thoughts?
That’s actually a really interesting change for him, wouldn’t mind seeing that get implemented. You cooked on this one
Hell no
Peeps have a lot of different interesting ideas. I like your idea.
I always thought that one way they could mess with Arishem is make it so the random cards added get a minus 1-cost. That way you still get the bonus but also can’t ramp out your true combo pieces right away
Hidden Mobius buff
My suggestion is when you draw arishem, he makes the deck random and gives you +1 energy instead od the beginning of the game
Hmmm, maybe
Arishem fix: At the start of the game, half of your starting deck is replaced with 15 random cards.
You end up only having half of your original deck and 15 randoms. So you won’t pull your key cards barely as often.
SD needs to be reading these comments for ideas about arishem. Nice idea
Think it could go back to 12 at that point
Copy Cat has become one of my favorite 3-drops. Whenever I'm not sure what to include or just want to substitute a 3-drop in a deck - Copy Cat fills the role perfectly and it almost alway is worth it.
A couple of Arisheim ideas. Cards that started in your deck cost 1 more, your starting hand has Arisheim in it, starting hand is all random cards
I had a couple ideas for nerfs that could address some of the issues you talked about. I think they make a slight difference but will help!
Gilgamesh - Moves to a 6 cost - reduces the boost of playing an additional 1 cost on turn 6
Mockingbird - Cost reduction caps at 1 - prevents hugely OP plays on turn 6, especially with Gilgamesh
Arishem - The bonus energy only remains whilst Arishem is in your hand or deck. This would mean Loki would still be OP if you draw Arishem, but you could also specify the bonus energy only applies if you have 17 or more cards in your deck for example. This could even introduce cards like Cable as a counter to Arishem by thinning your deck or something
I dont think Gilgamesh deserves a nerf as much as Loki/Arishem/Quinjet
I like your arishem idea
@@Viper76PL oh he does! A 5 cost shouldn’t be able to reach the heights he does. A 6 cost is also a very small nerf tbh
@@DarKit-hu7yr thank you!
@@GetMiked nah, its not nearly as bad as the ones I mentioned, If Gilga deserves a nerf at all, just move him to 5/8 and hes fine
Season 4 and 5 tech cards need to show up in the spotlight more often I think. They are needed cards, but no one wants to spend tokens on them
I feel like they should let you buy the variants straight out of the albums instead of waiting multiple months to see the variant you're waiting for to complete an album! There are just too many variants at this point to be able to find the one you're looking for.
Neat idea
Speed is great because no one wants to use Enchantress on him when you know there other other more crucial ongoing cards that your opponent has coming.
Yea! Speed is great. They’re right tho, he’s boring… play him and move on. 😂
There's barely any decks running enchantress anyway these days
@Stickyz heh heh heh, Enchantress is a folk tale.🤞
Or even putting an enchantress in the deck in the first place
Once arishem is out of the meta and loki nerf speed will be a top 2 3 drop. Hes the next cannon ball where everyone will be upset they skipped him
Mailbag Question: Throughout Marvel's history, they have published comic books for other properties such as Star Wars, Predator, and Transformers to name a few. Would you ever want to see the game branch out into third party characters that have a history with Marvel Comics?
Personally, I'd be okay with it, but only much later down the line when Second Dinner has inevitably run out of notable Marvel Characters and are on to exclusively the D-Listers.
Neat idea, I like it. Since Star Wars is also under Disney control, should be the easier to get permission.
Love the podcast!!! Love both you and cozy keep up the good work!!!
It could also create a new way to play Patriot, which could be fun.
yes, now we can highroll demon and winter soldier
also this isn't really a good idea just because of the sheer amount of useless tokens
@@icenovice I mean, the amount of useless tokens is sort of the point here, since we're talking about an Arishem nerf
That is one of the more interesting ideas I’ve heard about Arishem. I’m kind of into it
This is a cool idea too. There is still a chance to highroll some good tokens, but even then I think Arishem can be powerful for the text effects more so than power output. I like it
I got a mailbag question. Isn't activate the reason kitty pride got changed
Mailbag: What do you think of adding "cards cannot have their cost reduced" to an add to Arishem? Solves the Loki and Quinjet issue. And/Or replaces the entire deck with random cards.
this is what I think should happen to. you already get to play ahead of curve every turn, you shouldnt get any more energy cheat than that.
I like your first idea. Maybe have him start in hand so his effect is always active. The +1 energy is like an on reveal, so it doesn’t matter. The no cost reduction is like an ongoing, it makes more sense in hand so Loki can’t replace it. My logic anyway.
Alex--check out Li'l Woody's when you're in Seattle. It's right by the convention center and 'the Fig & the Pig' burger is outstanding.
Arishem: At the Start of the game, +1 Max Energy. Remove 6 cards from you deck and add in 12 random cards.
And arishem starts in your hand to take up a slot
Arishem - at the start of the game remove 4 cards from your deck And change your opponent's entire deck to random cards.
This is smart, makes him even more inconsistent since you have completely unreliable draws
@@TerryB2 this guy said the number one deck is inconsistent 😂😂😂
@@Beengiftedshut up
Speed is a good card but ultimately replaceable. Lots of people already have Jeff and/or Iron Lad so it's not worth investing the keys. However, Speed will start showing up in meta decks because he is generally the biggest 3-Cost, and lots of people will start complaining that they didn't get him due to his lackluster reception.
Whoa, Cozy opening the chat with "that was the first time I took drugs" 😅😅 kids are watching this, man 😂
General rule of thumb in the US is not to get anything "ground beef" less than Medium UNLESS you know the butcher/restaurant is good.
19:05 cheeky smile from cozy 😂
Mail bag:
As a FTP player I feel like a new card every week is overwhelming cause I never know what I should get and should pass on so my question is a card acquisition question but what are your guys thoughts on every 60 levels you get a 50/50 roll on a S4/s5 card or the new spotlight card and on the flip side every 120 levels you get a spotlight key? A lot of mobile games do the 50/50 thing and it works well I think if done correctly it would feel more rewarding getting new cards as well as making free to play players more excited for new cards.
Totally feel you Alex on that burger king whopper. I don't eat them much as of late but there's only on bk that rock with near me that makes them perfectly.
I have a McDonald’s near me that’s the same. It’s the only one I go to now lol
Mailbag: Not a question, but just wanna say I got to infinite with Cozy’s Speed Slayer deck. I think it’s definitely a good card!
Okay... did they just add these quests overnight? Or have they always been there. I now see Win with Bounties in my Alliance?
Should I use my tokens on mockingbird (like a new card) or use my tokens on the new variant Jeff which I really like too
Best card in the game is always going to be wong. I just love doing dirty wongbo combos 😂. My favs at each slot.
1- Nico Minorou
2-Ravona
3- too many good 3 cost!
Thank you !
Thanks for the video. And count me among the players that dislike losing to Arishem/Loki decks so often.
I get the feeling that this burger debate continued after you guys turned of the recording. :D Have you guys ever tried steak tartar?
no lol
Honestly I just got ariehem a couple weeks ago. And Cassandra just pummels the deck if you draw bricks. She’s the Shang chi of arishem it feels like. Although for lower CL players or those who didn’t get her through Deadpool’s diner they still might find a way to give him a lil bonk. 90% of the games I run into are Cassandra implemented decks. 😭
Also mailbag: if u could have any card back to its original state before it was nerfed what it would it be.. like the og zabu or og black panther
Hey Fellas. Love the SCP. Had a question for the mailbag that I'm pretty sure Cozy may poo poo, but like the spotlight cache, "hoping for the best"
With the soon-to-be Activate feature, what would your thoughts be to having a "linked-type" activation.
@@TokyoTurtle22 I wasn’t suggesting Mobius counters Arishem, I was saying “a card that counters extra energy just like Mobius counters reduced cost”
You should do an entire segment on Auto-Retreat conditions
15:24 my exact thoughts on arishem
Getting Makkari before t3 in surfer feels so good
Mailbag:
First of all, i love you guys and Mondays waiting for the SnapChat to come out makes the first work day possible.
What about using speed in a sera control deck to add some stats to the tech?
Add a token pass, increase the amount you receive from reserves and add tokens to Conquest track or diner track. It's simple
Its super good
Yes, I found it weird the US has options for how to cook burgers too. First time I was asked I was definitely taken aback.
Go Cozy hahaha Mary team here. Have a great week you guys
Idea to fix Arishem. A 1 cost 1 power card. On reveal: make a sandbar at this location
Copycat in Surfer and pulling an opponents Wong Surfer or ABS is so fun.
Inspired by cozy’s wheel of snap, but I think arishem could work if he generates 2 cards of each cost, with arishem being the 13th card in the deck.
Shaw is great in three decks.. namora, Gwenpool and of course surfer.
I'm pretty sure the rule in Canada is that in order to offer burgers anyway other than well done, the meat has to be ground in house.
We also use to have hela who they refused to need but nerfed everything around it
I've watched this several times to make sure I've heard correctly, but yea, many many people order their burgers medium rare - especially if the patty is 1/2 pound.
Interesting idea
Arishem should read: "Draw this on turn one and replace your deck with random cards." The only cards you get from your deck design are the three you start the game with.
Did they change the way Super Skrull works? It used to be if you played yours after the opponent, you got your cards PLUS their Skrull. Now it doesn't seem to do that.
