Favorite combo I've pulled off a surprising amount is 2x Nico > hulk buster > destroy > PF for a 30 power Nico. Zola it for two 60 power nicos. Both those power levels do NOT require you to play an addition card after the activator. It's nutty
Would PF and Zola proc the x2 on her? Don' you need to play an extra card after for it to proc? Haven't test that yet But I did tried nico->Hulk Buster->SymSpidey and from my experience, you need another card after SymSpidey for him to double his power

Mailbag: I have an idea for assessing the potential for to-be-released cards. What everyone does is obviously create scenarios with combos and then compare the new card to conventional scenarios. An example for that would be before Sage released and she was compared heavily to Wolfsbane's playstyle. I think it would be good if you just quickly calculated the power per energy. That would also help with comparing a new 6-drop release to a new 1-drop release. If you want to know which of the two is worth more of your tokens/caches, simply calculate the power per energy for different hypothetical (and realistic) scenarios and you have a better assessment. Just my idea for future card releases and talks on the Snapchat. Keep it up!

Aren't only spotlight variants 2400? I really want the wedding Kitty Pride but don't have enough for it but when I do finally get it I'll be happy that it's still not easy to obtain. I'm fine with the variants I have for her for now.
I think it might be spotlight and also bundle variants that cost 2400, basically anything that wasn't released into the variant shop when it first got added. I'm not 100% sure on that though. The wedding Kitty Pryde variant is FIRE, she's been one of my favourite characters since I was collecting in the late 80s and even though I didn't want everything else that week, I used keys to get that variant at the time. I haven't regretted it! Many months later, I'm still trying to win an Infinite Conquest to get my fancy portrait for her, though...
My favourite deck is Ravonna, Mystique, Magik, Negative, Iron Lad, Jubilee, Super Skrull, Sera, Iron Man, Blue Marvel, Onslaught, Tribunal. I need to pick up Sage so I can try yours out, sounds like a blast.
I played Arcanum for like 100+ hours.... then my friend showed me that you could just steal from the shop keepers by hiding in their bedroom, then speeding up time to night, and sneaking out and breaking their chest..... he took the fun out of it for me, and i couldnt play it again.
The variants do actually have an impact on the game, if you're going for albums. I unlocked She-Hulk that way, and I'm one card from getting Alioth as well.
I love the variants too but my god the most frustrating thing is how long it takes for certain ones too come up while I see the same ones over and over, I’ve been waiting on peach strange since that album came out
They need to put the variants that are now and will be unavailable from bundles and past events into the premium mystery variants pool. It sucks that they are gone forever and we're locked being a paywall that is mostly paying for the resources in the bundle.
Silver Sable being a 1-cost card is why she's not as clearly impactful, which is perfect imo. I've been playing Snap for a year and I've had a new card as my 4th option TWICE, and one of those was Hercules. It feels so awful getting 1000 tokens for a key.
Mailbag: Card acquisition is really hard as a relatively new player (CL 3300). Do you think it's fair that all the new cards releasing are Series 5 cards? Do you think some cards could be changed from series 5 to 4? There's a number of cards in my opinion, where the effect doesn't "feel" series 5, like Speed or Hydra Bob. The effects aren't that crazy compared to even series 3 cards like Wong. Anyway, thanks for the podcast, I really liok forward to them every week.
MAILBAG: Marvel Snap is in such a better spot now with so many new and exciting decks. I feel they need to adjust Reserves they are trash and almost useless, what are your thought on making them better adding borders in the list after a certain level or making it so you can choose the boosters that you get. What are your thoughts on this?!
Mailbag: I have a hot take about many of the new releases. It feels like new releases are taking over the meta way too much. But that's also obvious. What else would you expect from a competitive game. The reason why I think this is problematic is that they are way too strong for the stats/disruption they provide rather than the synergies they create and therefore kicking old but good cards out of their own home decks. One of the few examples where I think a card is very strong for the synergies it creates with older cards, is Wiccan. It just seems fair for him to be strong, whereas cards like White Widow are way too strong that she is seen in decks that don't really have a synergy with her other than the insande disruption she creates. If Madame Web becomes so strong that she finds her way consistently out of move decks then I feel like that supports my point.
Mailbag: a thought on how to change the variant shop. Remove all album variants from the variant shop, and move them to be purchasable in the albums themselves. This makes it far more manageable to try and go for albums. I have been waiting for cyclops to roll around to finish the Jim Lee x men album for like a month. This change would just make it a lot easier to get albums and would also make other variants easier to hunt for in the shop
I thought for sure I was going to end up getting Silver Sable this week because I'd been thinking lately about how much I wanted to get U.S.Agent into my collection. When I went to start spending keys, I got very confused. Why was the top row showing me Silver Sable and the variants for U.S.Agent and Mockingbird, and the second row only showing the variant for Sable? Everyone reading this figured it out faster than I did at the time. I actually had to go check my collection to confirm that I did, in fact, already have Mr. Walker in my collection. I think I got him from a Collector's Cache a while back or something, a very lucky hit. This also explains why he never seemed to come up in my token shop... 😂

Are: Variant Shop- The selection bugs me a lot more than the price. I literally have screenshots of 10 weeks in a row they have offered me Art Germ White Widow and I have declined. The algorithm seems certain what cards your want and when it's wrong, you never see the ones you do. I am a card away from completing my first album and haven't seen it in 5 months
Snapchat Mailbag: this could be a video topic or for the mailbag but in curious as to your guys favorite and least favorite reworks of cards? I’d say my favorite has to be magik but obviously the change to snow guard was huge as well. I think there’s a lot of cool topics here like Attuma and the bad changes like America Chavez
Hard disagree on the Sable Banter. Sable is plug-and-play as a 1-3 that can wreck your opponent if you get a lucky hit. It's almost like a combo of Nebula and a spider pig or a one sided selene. Also, I'm playing it *with* simbiote. Sim turn 4, turn 5 you wong+sable and then activate, that's -8 to the next card - and you can Zola the combo for ~12 points of power in two lanes plus whatever you did on turn 1-3. It's not going to win every hand, but it's super strong.
Someone stole 4 cubes from me because he played sanman on 5 and I played magic both of us snaped, turn 6, he played ironlad, pulling absorbing man coping sanman again, I wanted to break my phone that day.
Your discussion of combos makes caused me to wonder if Second Dinner will ever consider reworking the Fantastic Four so that they can be played as a combo. I know that it's impossible to make all of the Avengers or X-Men synergize but they make Thor, Beta Ray Bill, Jane Foster, and Odin into a great combo. Why can't they make the Torch, the Thing, the Invisible Woman, and Mr. Fantastic synergize?
Mailbag: do you think active has been a hit so far? For me it’s been a bit underwhelming. This season feels a bit overhyped, we need more active cards, I know new ones are coming but we need the reworks too.

Do you think it would break the in-game economy if the fourth "Random Series 4 or 5 Card" Spotlight Cache option instead unlocked a random series 4 or 5 card that you DON'T HAVE in your collection? I am near collection complete and I just spent 3 spotlight keys to unlock a all 3 cards outside of Madame Web, one of which was a duplicate Kitty Pryde for which I got 1,000 tokens. Pound for pound, this is still the WORST feeling in the whole game, in my opinion. Worse than any $99 bundle staring at me in the shop... Would love your thoughts and your platform!
I'm pretty sure that's the result of the recent change to Shadow King. It used to not work that way, but now for Shadow King, removing buffs is no longer considered to be "reducing power" for cards like Colossus and Luke Cage.
My issue is that it is removing the ongoing ability of colossus - he should interact the same way with shadow king as dark hawk etc. otherwise what is the point of his on going ability - he cannot go below his original power - that’s dumb.
@@brianschenker601 He's definitely one of the old cards that doesn't work well in the current meta (needs an overhaul) but his ability does protect him from things like Hazmat or Negative Zone. Also Darkhawk is a bad example to compare him to, because most of Darkhawk's power comes from his ongoing which has always been unaffected by Shadow King. But if you play a Darkhawk that has been swapped with Mr. Negative or The Peak, then Shadow King him, he'll lose the extra two power just like anything else. The important thing is consistency in the game rules.
Now I am trying to remember whether I have ever had my buffed colossus subjected to a hazmat and what happened with respect to the buff whether it went down or stayed the same - hmmmmm…. Not sure I can remember seeing that happen
@@brianschenker601 Good question. As I understand the rules now it should not have gone down, only Shadow King is supposed to be able to reduce the power of buffed cards that have something preventing power reduction.
Sable wont be as impactful as ssm because he is a build around win condition. She will probably be used as much or more than him because she is easily a top 5 card in her cost slot.
So, if one of Symbiote Spider-Man's best targets is Doctor Doom, why isn't Wong --> Doctor Doom more of a thing? Is the 4-power difference really that big of a deal?
So ive got 2 keys and working on a 3rd for Madem web id like to try my luck at sabel but unfortunately i already have mockingbird so id just be getting the variant. I wouldn't mind getting us agent either but its a 50/50 and i just dont know of i can justify that when I comparatively have nothing in the madem web week so i feel better about that. Id appreciate any outside advise

Ravonna+Sera+Onslaught. That's a combo. Throw in Magik, Wong, Mystique, Sage+Taskmaster and you're done.

This change would just make it a lot easier to get albums and would also make other variants easier to hunt for in the shop
Would help with the problem of the obscene amount of variants to cycle through in the shop

I thought for sure I was going to end up getting Silver Sable this week because I'd been thinking lately about how much I wanted to get U.S.Agent into my collection. When I went to start spending keys, I got very confused. Why was the top row showing me Silver Sable and the variants for U.S.Agent and Mockingbird, and the second row only showing the variant for Sable? Everyone reading this figured it out faster than I did at the time. I actually had to go check my collection to confirm that I did, in fact, already have Mr. Walker in my collection. I think I got him from a Collector's Cache a while back or something, a very lucky hit. This also explains why he never seemed to come up in my token shop... 😂

Are: Variant Shop- The selection bugs me a lot more than the price. I literally have screenshots of 10 weeks in a row they have offered me Art Germ White Widow and I have declined. The algorithm seems certain what cards your want and when it's wrong, you never see the ones you do. I am a card away from completing my first album and haven't seen it in 5 months

I’d say my favorite has to be magik but obviously the change to snow guard was huge as well. I think there’s a lot of cool topics here like Attuma and the bad changes like America Chavez

Hard disagree on the Sable Banter.
Sable is plug-and-play as a 1-3 that can wreck your opponent if you get a lucky hit. It's almost like a combo of Nebula and a spider pig or a one sided selene.
Also, I'm playing it *with* simbiote.
Sim turn 4, turn 5 you wong+sable and then activate, that's -8 to the next card - and you can Zola the combo for ~12 points of power in two lanes plus whatever you did on turn 1-3. It's not going to win every hand, but it's super strong.

Your discussion of combos makes caused me to wonder if Second Dinner will ever consider reworking the Fantastic Four so that they can be played as a combo. I know that it's impossible to make all of the Avengers or X-Men synergize but they make Thor, Beta Ray Bill, Jane Foster, and Odin into a great combo. Why can't they make the Torch, the Thing, the Invisible Woman, and Mr. Fantastic synergize?
Mailbag: do you think active has been a hit so far? For me it’s been a bit underwhelming. This season feels a bit overhyped, we need more active cards, I know new ones are coming but we need the reworks too.

Do you think it would break the in-game economy if the fourth "Random Series 4 or 5 Card" Spotlight Cache option instead unlocked a random series 4 or 5 card that you DON'T HAVE in your collection? I am near collection complete and I just spent 3 spotlight keys to unlock a all 3 cards outside of Madame Web, one of which was a duplicate Kitty Pryde for which I got 1,000 tokens. Pound for pound, this is still the WORST feeling in the whole game, in my opinion. Worse than any $99 bundle staring at me in the shop... Would love your thoughts and your platform!
I’m a heavy Namora player and you can shadow king a collasus which I’m not sure makes any sense whatsoever but it works
I'm pretty sure that's the result of the recent change to Shadow King. It used to not work that way, but now for Shadow King, removing buffs is no longer considered to be "reducing power" for cards like Colossus and Luke Cage.
My issue is that it is removing the ongoing ability of colossus - he should interact the same way with shadow king as dark hawk etc. otherwise what is the point of his on going ability - he cannot go below his original power - that’s dumb.
@@brianschenker601 He's definitely one of the old cards that doesn't work well in the current meta (needs an overhaul) but his ability does protect him from things like Hazmat or Negative Zone. Also Darkhawk is a bad example to compare him to, because most of Darkhawk's power comes from his ongoing which has always been unaffected by Shadow King. But if you play a Darkhawk that has been swapped with Mr. Negative or The Peak, then Shadow King him, he'll lose the extra two power just like anything else. The important thing is consistency in the game rules.
Now I am trying to remember whether I have ever had my buffed colossus subjected to a hazmat and what happened with respect to the buff whether it went down or stayed the same - hmmmmm…. Not sure I can remember seeing that happen
@@brianschenker601 Good question. As I understand the rules now it should not have gone down, only Shadow King is supposed to be able to reduce the power of buffed cards that have something preventing power reduction.
because of Triskelion I was able to play ssm into ssm but then that ssm was not able to be merged into something else so that was annoying

Sable wont be as impactful as ssm because he is a build around win condition. She will probably be used as much or more than him because she is easily a top 5 card in her cost slot.

So ive got 2 keys and working on a 3rd for Madem web id like to try my luck at sabel but unfortunately i already have mockingbird so id just be getting the variant. I wouldn't mind getting us agent either but its a 50/50 and i just dont know of i can justify that when I comparatively have nothing in the madem web week so i feel better about that. Id appreciate any outside advise
