When I first saw Star Trek The Motion Picture I instantly fell in love with the new look of the Enterprise and it saddened me seeing her be destroyed in Star Trek 3:The Search for Spock and I loved it when they brought her back at the the end of Star Trek 4:The Voyage Home right upto her last voyage and what should be considered her final battle in Star Trek 6:The Undiscovered Country.
Absolutely agree with you, this version of the ENTERPRISE is the best ever! just prey they never mess with her beauty in some new version down the line.
Sorry I'm late the party but this build is just remarkable!!! Beautiful insane work!!! A true piece of art! Your handling of details are remarkable!! I wish you were still doing commission builds because I would hire you in heartbeat!!! Thank you for sharing!!!
I have finally begun to build my 1/350 Polar Lights Refit Enterprise/Enterprise-A. However, I am building it as my own Starship from Star Trek Online, the U.S.S. Jupiter NCC-1734. The Flagship of my Main Character, Fleet Admiral Jonathan James Cartwright. However, I am not advanced enough to light the model. But I am doing the best I can do.
That sounds great 👍, with any model building it's the journey we have building them and the finished results, we all start somewhere and that means making mistakes too, just enjoy your build and don't try to mark it against other builds you see.
Thanks, Don't worry about other peoples models, just enjoy your build and love it for what it is, we all make mistakes even myself when doing models like this one lol.
The light leak where the nacelles meet the pylons was in consideration of not permanently installing the nacelles before shipping. All that "leverage" in case of box damage would put too much strain on the most fragile part of the model (i.e. where the pylons meet the secondary hull). It is now sealed. ;)
The base colour was white primer paint from an auto store, the Aztecs where "PearlEX" shimmering iridescent pigment powders mixed into a clear varnish, then airbrushed onto the model, to achieve this i used a professional paint masking set from "Maskdesign"
Nice and really GREAT Work,my friend.I'm trying to look after this kit to do the same (i hope approaching your level,it will be the first time i will realize a hard work like this).Like you and so many fans around the world ,i'm a very great fan of STAR TREK's Universe.
Thank you JEAN, I am sure your build will look fantastic and you will be very proud when it is complete and on display, just take your time and do lots of research.
Never mind. It's a great pleasure to congratulate someone with talent, patient and above all,a real passion for SPACE,STAR TREK and (i hope surely) the Futur of human being, far from Home, our planet.
Hi Jason, thank you for appreciating my work, unfortunately I am not taking on anymore commission builds, but never say never and who knows maybe when the time is right I might do some more, if I did decide to do more I will let you know.
Actually he did nothing wrong, as it was built to MY specifications. ;) I wanted the impulse engines lit blue at the same time the inboard warp nacelles lit as purple, as the ship looked in the the famous "Cibachrome" publicity shots by Virgil Mirano. pbs.twimg.com/media/DKNP1yHU8AMsV1Z?format=jpg
@@MrCougar214 Not sure about any "in universe" explanation; my guess is they wanted EVERYTHING lit to show off the model for those publicity shots which later were used for a great deal of promotional material (magazines, posters, etc etc) that made a big impact on me as a teen. And by everything lit, they even lit both photon tubes (which is why I wanted them both to come on together). So Paul built me the ship as it has looked in my head for 40 years. ;)
@@scottfetner206 nice. I'm building this one myself but I am gonna stick to cannon as much as possible. I bought two tenacontrols deflector boards. It allows the impulse crystals to turn from yellow to blue with the deflector and turns the warp nacelles on in warp mode(As I'm sure you already know all this). I bought two because I noticed in the movie that when the deflector and impulse crystals are yellow the warp nacelles were that purple color. So I will connect the second board to the nacelles with some purple light strips and run the yellow deflector side back to the first boards yellow deflector. I think it will look pretty damn sweet when I'm finished.
@@MrCougar214 Well, I'm not sure the inner nacelles ever looked purple in any of the movies, but they certainly were lit purple in still shots of the model I've seen. I've heard one explanation that they were always purple, but the color was adjusted to blue (when in warp mode) using filters or other post-production techniques. When unit, the "chillers" on the model apparently did have a purple cast to them "in person", but not sure that ever came across onscreen (watch from 2:12-2:28 sec mark especially here: ruclips.net/video/tpEv8pRGkME/видео.html). I thought for years they were lit purple in at least TMP, but memory is a funny thing, even when it comes to a movie we've all seen a bajillion times. "Correct" or not, I like the purple (when lit).;)
Hi Eric at present i am busy building for other clients which will take me to approx. August time for availability, to build another Enterprise like in my video will cost £2,900 pound sterling + postage/shipping on top.
Movie model material !!!!!. 😊 reminds me of 12/7/1979 !!!!!! Premiere date of Star Trek. TMP , that's when I saw it first.( I was.19 then, ..im 60 now.) Bizarre I was born in 1960.
Remember, Kirk only wanted rank reduction for Decker, and him self to be temporary. So, if the V'ger mission had gone differently, Decker would have still been Captain, and Kirk would have gone back to being Admiral. Willard Decker was the son of Commodore Matt Decker from " The Doomsday machine" episode. Admiral Kirk gave him command of the Enterprise in 2271.
You are the only RUclips modeler who painted the hanger deck floor the correct color to match what it was in the film. Respect, my friend. Peace.
Most beautiful and most recognizable ship in all of Starfleet history good job
Many thanks, and agree this is the most recognizable ship in all of Starfleet history 👍
very well done, congrats
Thank you 👍

really nice workmanship

Well done

Where was the light source for the NCC-1701 on the inner nacelles?
Wow! Looks as good as in movie! How much did you charge, you don't mind me asking?
Thanks, I think I sold it for around £2,500 pounds.
Fantastic, I'm going to complete mine soon as the lighting is complete, can you tell me what overall white colour you used ?, many thanks
Hello Paul, love the work. What would be the procedure and availability for a commission build for one of these?
Hi Jason, thank you for appreciating my work, unfortunately I am not taking on anymore commission builds, but never say never and who knows maybe when the time is right I might do some more, if I did decide to do more I will let you know.

How did you do the spotlights on the saucer section?
How did you find fitting the neck to the secondary hull? Those pegs are very tight!!
Much better Work
Thanks
