They are relying on the same gimmicks they have been since the late 90s. Relaunching or rebooting titles so they get a temporary boost in sales for the new #1 issues, and of course the variant covers.
I hope, someday soon, they will change their model because these reboots, relaunches, reimaginings drive customers away.

Personally all I want is the return of my boy Jonathan Samuel Kent Superboy as his little 10 year old self and to just forget all the horrible bendis stuff ever happened from the very beginning but that’s just my opinion.

@@mechmaster315 I am glad you enjoyed Tom taylor's son of kal-el run more then I did because for me I find son of kal-el to be not great and just all over place and not making any sense but that's just my opinion.
the fact that the titans are a focus has me interested. I want them to be THE big thing in DC for longer than an event. There are a ton more stories they could do with those characters.

Would you recommend me getting the rebirth nightwing deluxe books I got the grayson ommibus and am probably going to go back and get all 5 volumes for the new 52 run

@@treylester5361 ill. Definitely look into it then nightwing is probably the closest to a consistent story I have right now since I got Morrisons batman run which leads into his new 52 series I honestly didn't think it be this easy to find a good starting off point to really read a character

Enough with these soft reboots!! If you're going to do an actually reboot, then do it! Create a new Superman, new Batman, new Wonder Woman, new Flash, new Green Lantern etc.
They don't have the balls to do one and stick with it.

I do believe in the next DCU reboot… DCU will hire Madonna to be the next Wonder Woman as they just replaced Margot Robbie with Lady Gaga and Lady Gaga will use her meat dress from like 10 years ago as the new Harley Quinn outfit… hooray says DCU problem solved… Now just to make our fans come see our movies… Wait I have a bright idea 💡 let’s just say this will be a soft reboot of the previous reboot from the reboot from 15 years ago… 🤪

I like those suits, but when you have characters this classic, anytime you give them another suit, it’ll just feel like an alternative skin in a video game. It’s fun to see, but it’ll never be iconic enough to match the original

I think Mariko Tamaki has yet to show her best work. So, I'm optimistic about her upcoming run on Hal Jordan. Hal is a good character who still has a lot of potential for more great stories. Fingers Crossed! 🤞
No way I just started reading new 52 now I gotta catch up to 2 more reboots

Batman primarily benefited from the N52, but other characters felt unrecognizable to older comic book fans and that effect propagated overtime into DC using Rebirth to bring back Post Crisis history. Black Canary and Green Arrow not being together, Wonder Woman being more ruthless, Martian Manhunter being more aggressive, Cyborg being a member of the Justice League; sp many changes caught people's interest initially but drove people away overtime
@@nemostrangesonginthedirt8448 It was a good joke lol and it's understandable how it's far more difficult to get into comics when the cosmology, landscape, and history changes every 5 years😂. I've been into comics since I was in middle school but the flaws in industry practices are obvious to me

Yeah I think they should have stuck with the N52-Rebirth timeline and not to try to modify the canon again and again, just make new stories from that point on
Mariko Tamaki's detective run was absolutely fantastic
I would love a full reboot of the universe that starts a new universe with either all new characters that (HERE IS THE IMPORTANT PART) keep the spirit of their originals but do their own thing. A homage but with a flair and respect. And you can introduce the older version obviously as they will in other verses or bringing them directly into this one somehow

I stopped reading after the death metal event so now that it's being rebooted I'm just waiting to see what's next but if I'm being honest I really want more Green Lantern Corp stories without them being nerfed. Btw I'm not a fan of the writer who did ( I am Star Fire ) hope she gets replaced soon as it flops to bring in a real writer because she's going to run Green Lantern into the ground.
Yeah, I’ve seen a review and a few summaries on I Am Starfire, and yeah. That’s one of the dumbest stories ever. Not Heroes in Crisis level, but that’s not a story easily tppped.

There are two green lantern books releasing. Mariko is only on the Hal Jorden led book. There is also a John Stewart book by Philip Kennedy Johnson who done a spectacular job on DC comics.

I'm going to be honest I don't know why it would be referred to as a reboot considering it feels like what you're describing is that they're finally calming down from having crisis level events
I don't think it's a reboot but rather what happened with infinite frontier where it marks a new "phase" in the DCU similar to what the MCU is doing.

That wasn't the children's book that was a self insert. And should not have been read by children. It was adult themed.
I love the rebirth reboot personally one of if not my favourite sad to see it end but something new always good
So in other words DCU is just like having Microsoft software in my laptop 💻 and it just reboots every 5 years because just like my laptop the screen freezes up, goes into a blue screen or it just meltdowns before my eyes… I wish every time I fracked up in real life… I could just press a reboot button just like DCU or Microsoft and I could just keep fracking up because the reboot button will save my azz… 🤔
It really doesn't feel like a reboot at all. I haven't seen anything that leads me to think that. We'll see though.

DC do another soft reboot and give us new 50 book with the weird agenda and readers hate this bad books so DC cancelled all books and do another soft reboot .

I'm mildly interested, but I haven't read DC in a while (was always more of a Marvel fan and I've really been enjoying some recent Marvel stuff) so not sure it will really mean much for me. Maybe once I finish my current X dive, I will shift to reading some DC.
I hope they bring back Nightwing and Starfire as a couple. And I'm mad happy about them bring Christopher Kent back as a hero.

Learn the difference between reboot and relaunch for gods sake. Marvel has never rebooted. Dc has a few times but this is just a relaunch.
I know people didn’t really like the new 52, but I’ve always felt like Superman and Wonderwoman were the perfect match. It makes the most sense

I love DC. I've started collecting comics again. I bought a Marvel comic today, but I'm really a DC fan & I really like Batman Beyond.
I started reading comics right at the new 52, and that was a recent reboot from rebirth, and since then they’ve done like 3 reboots…

I just found out Tom Taylor is writing the new Titans so I just found out about DoDC
I'm hyped personally, can't wait.
The reboots and crossover events have driven fans like me away for years. When the stakes are the universe, multiverse, all of existence to the point it rewrites history for the 9th time in a decade... it exhausts normal people's interests.
Of course, an average superhero story feels like it's meandering. Wonder Woman just saved all of existence against evil Batman. Who cares about what comes next. The stakes were too high to follow up, so.... it's reboot time! Again!
So DC has a crossover event addiction that leads to reboot syndrome...
Also, Batman fatigue. DC is this close to making me hate Batman.
FFS another god damned reboot....Jesus Christ pick a cannon and stick to it....They come up with stupid ideas for stupid events that take up the entire universe and then when it doesn't work they reboot...And this is why I read trades, well not DCs trades because they're also greedy and split things into multiple trades to get the "whole story"...And if this reboot doesn't gain enough interest they'll reboot again....DC should just change their name to Reboot Comics.

I wonder if DC Comics would ever except new comic ideas that are not strictly superheroes? I thought it would be interesting if I ever made a comic and get it pitched to Dc; that they would accept it. Hey Comic, do you think we will ever get new entries of heroes like another set of new gods or entirely new heroes?
In this current era, they would rather butcher existing characters than make new ones or give lesser known ones some shine.
They tried new heroes a while back but they flopped. They have had some success with new villains and heroes tho like punchline and ghostmaker

DC most definitely needs a reboot. They had some great concepts like the dark mulitverse, but in my opinion, done badly.
Do a hard reboot. The 3 Jokers needs to be gone. And while you reboot and fix continuity add some new characters, but don't push them down our throats, just build them up.

@@superbit6426 up until like 2012 it was Captain Marvel in the comet books. They changed the name of the comic to the power of Shazam because they lost the trademark I think it was but the character's name was still protected. I'm not 100% certain that's still the case but that's how I used to be.
