- Ep. 71 - Have you ever wondered what a club fitter means when he tells you that was a Good/Bad Shot, or if there is even such a thing? Well in todays video we share an example from a recent fitting where we helped a customer move out out last year Taylormade Sim 2 driver and into the brand new Stealth Plus 8 degree version, and although it was a big improvement it wasn't necessarily perfect. So give the video a watch to find out what exactly a Good/Bad shot is.

I had the absolute pleasure of visiting John and his team at SwingFit last week. I am an amateur golfer that cannot compare to many of the great swings that you see on this channel. At least, that’s what I thought to be true. After a 90 minute session with John, he had me striping my 7 iron down the middle and carrying it an extra 7 yards on average. I came into the session pushing to the right and hitting the occasional worm burner. My experience ended up being a lesson as opposed to a fitting. I went home with nothing but the advice from John, “Go practice what you learned here today.” John is a great and patient swing coach. I would go as far as to say he should change his logo to SF2 = SwingFit/Fix! He is just that good! Take a ride into the country and visit SwingFit. You will come out a better golfer.
Thank you so much for the kind words, and support Wayne.
I love it ! Damn I know he could definitely help me improve if i could make it out there to him. It's definitely on my bucket list of things to do.. I'll make it out there at some point! Guaranteed!!!!
Another great video john! I personally love the feeling of that good bad shot… those are the ones that save a round vs. kill a round. Keep up the awesomeness brother 👊
Heck I will take it a step further we are only as good as the bad shots that we make so a good club fitting will focus more on the good bad shots opposed to the good awesome shots…
@@SwingFit i 100% agree with this! The dispersion on a properly fitted club is insanely different for most amateurs!
Great work as always!
Thanks bud, we hope to get some new content out very soon.
Missing the videos - where have you guys been? Hope all is good!
We are hopefully two weeks out my friend thank you for the continued support…
Which video is it, that you mentioned the Trust Golf Ball towards the end of a fitting with a guy in his 60's
We actually didn’t review that ball, in fact we haven’t really done in reviews on balls yet. So that’s a good suggestion.
120.7*2.7=325.9 - is the 2.7*Swing Speed a good reference? The combination of launch conditions seem to be delivering a total distance in line with projected optimal given swing speed. Maybe with the new TM Stealth line the 2.7 is too low…
2.7 will generally always be a good form of comparison, but I also agree with you in this situation, as the customer was less then optimal with his delivery side and I would only expect his numbers to get better not worse. So ask me again in a couple of months to o see how things shake out…😀
Nice video and again, great explanation. I play the sim2 maxD and wonder if trying this year's heads would do something similar for me. I'm more of an avg swing speed guy 95-100 on avg depending on the day. I've hit a few of the new drivers with my OBAN shaft and was super impressed with Cobra and Mizuno . Not sure i'll pull the trigger for a 2022 driver since i just got this one last year, but those two make a good argument for a possible upgrade in 2023. Thanks for another great Video !
The new TM stuff is better then last year the only area of concern I’ve seen this far is with low strikes. Performance really drops off
@@SwingFit thank you sir! I'll prob stick with what i got for this season , unless i make a drastic swing change before the middle of the season. I love my sim2, might have to find a more optimal shaft is all .. we'll see though.. keep up the great work!
Where you at bro all good?
We are located in Bunker Hill WV.
I also hit up 7-8 degrees with high dynamic loft. I'm also pretty accurate. I'm not sure I understand why hitting up that much is a bad thing. I hit the ball longer than ever and I'm 59 years old. I know I hit the ball farther at 8 degrees up than I do at 5 degrees up. So what makes 4 or 5 degrees up better than 7 or 8 if I'm accurate at 7-8?
That’s a really good question and it really comes down to the delivery, generally 8 up is bad and the reason it would be bad is that if you get launch to close to your dynamic loft window then this could cause you to have to low of spin, and this would be just as harmful as too much spin, and it sounds like you may need to hit up on the ball to find balance as your loft is already a little higher. So for yourself I wouldn’t spend any time worried about that and my focus would be on consistency and trying to create the best fairway finder. Great question again. Thanks for sharing
@@SwingFit Thanks. Yeah I used to get the low spinner that falls out of the sky but not so much anymore.
John where did you go? Missing the swingfit videos!
My man thanks for the note without question it has been a while and we will be back soon, in fact we may even have a release later this week… new build shop is almost finished.
How come there’s no more videos from Swing Fit? 😢
One week away…
Can you explain what the difference is in the Stealth that would cause such a difference?
Cg characteristics, the front sliding weight is huge, I was so sad to see it depart last year but thrilled to see it come back. Arguably one of the top drivers to beat this season. But heck everything is good.
good question. if the front sliding weight is "huge", then why not go for the sim? but really look at the offline numbers with the stealth+, avg 87.9L (!! that is unplayable) Nothing changed with his AoA & dynamic loft. We're not comparing driver heads 10 years apart. I've did a GC quad shoot out between sim2 & stealth (not +), sim2 was better in terms of spin consistency.
Great video! Where are you located? How backed up are you on fittings?
Come on we need the average golfer information.. swing speeds around 80-90 maybe 95 at the most. Videos of golfers swinging in the 115 116 does not relate to most of us duffers. The duffers are the ones watching your videos to check out club fitting. Trying to figure out if it will help us.. showing 115 swing speed most of us cant relate. Show us some one that we can relate too so we know the duffers out there can benefit from a fitting.
Thanks for sharing but I think if you watch it back you’ll see speed doesn’t matter, as this wasn’t a product review to help you Mae a buying decision it was to help everyone understand that good bad shots are just as important as good shots. But to your point we do have tons of videos where we do use avg. swings speeds and heck those are more likely the majority based on the very point you stated. Thanks again for sharing
Great work as always!
Thank you for the support.
