FF7 Ruby Weapon Speedrun Strategy

- This works on all versions of Final Fantasy VII.

Obviously, there are countless ways to defeat FF7's optional superbosses, Emerald and Ruby Weapon. Yet, this is arguably the fastest way to kill Ruby Weapon if one accounts for setup time. Both the battle (it takes about 2 minutes (!)) and the setup are very fast. No grinding is required, the necessary equipment is very basic as well as fast and easy to acquire.
I made this Ruby Weapon strategy to use it in 100% FF7 speedruns. In a 100% speedrun of FF7, you have to defeat all of the weapons. Hence, you are assumed to have already killed Ultimate and Emerald Weapon as the weapon battle order Ultimate - Emerald - Ruby yields by far the shortest cumulative battle and setup time.

Imagine being Ruby weapon. You’ve been killed tons of different conventional ways.
Then all of a sudden some team paralyzes you, starts trying to mug you, then out of nowhere you just take a massive amount of damage for no reason.
And one of them is randomly a frog.

Well, that's just Vegesther commenting *all* FFVII videos as usual to say just spam KotR instead of your original / fast / smart / funny way.
Sometimes he also tries to talk about something other than KotR, and makes wrong statements half of the time.
Well I won't even fight CARRY armor at lv 60 with 9999 HP 999 MP party members WITHOUT IT.
I used dazers and mega elixirs and used hero drinks. Then had my party do nothing but haste and enemy skill pandoras box.

Doing this without glitches, would take FOREVER! Unless somebody wants to attempt that for creativity reasons.

I killed him with kotr and mimic materia, but i started like him with 2 dead characters.
@@str8sk8t I use mime linked to counters like 7 times (and a final attack of phoenix) and walk in with unger max. I daze him, hit myself with a hero drink, mime a few times, anger max and then let him attack me. It's only a few minutes battle.. dont think it even takes 10.

At first I thought you could let the game alone after that point, until victory...
But then I figured that'd be how you end trying to mime 7 Phoenix, and Game Over. xD

How the hell can you have 7 mastered copies of HP plus equipped and STILL have less than 6k HP...
They are lvl 1
That's a speedrun. He had just 2-3k HP at that time.
As it was too dangerous (if not a 100% game over) against Emerald, he doubled (the max you can do) his HP buying 30 HP Pluses (10 per character, each giving +10%).
The 30 HP Pluses went from 0 to master when he killed Emerald. They now all give +50%, but the total bonus is still capped to +100% anyway. He just didn't especially need to unequip the useless ones before attacking Ruby.

Why the Vaccine on Cloud?
To prevent him to get status effects from Ruby's Tentacles.
I still prefer using the RIBBON for that especially since Vaccines are so hard to get its possible to NOT own a SINGLE ONE at all.

Ok thanks, also would it be possible to constantly use hero drinks on one character so the damage overflow glitch occurs?
LoneFaith97 No, Hero Drinks cannot be stacked beyond 4, which will double Attack, Magic Attack, Defense and Magic Defense.
+Abeastshek or you could do it with every guy having 6 max knights of the round and 6 magic counters and everbody also needs hp to mp then again you let it go oh and your whole party should be wearing ribbons after than well your golden
also yes hero drinks stack 4 times but overflow is kinda hard unless you have barret but you have to do insane damage
@@timgersh6787 You can't overflow on Ruby, even with Missing Score, Hero Drinks and all.
