Sad when they killed off Hannah’s character. I hate the way they did it, and season 3 was so damn disgusting I’m almost glad they didn’t do another season.

Yes, I think Season 1 and 2 were brilliant. I am unsure why they changed too much of the cast for Season 3. I actually began to like the Lyor, Chuck (President's brother), and MIKE in particular. It makes no sense why Mike would not constantly be around Kirkman. And Maggie Q as Hannah Wells was BRILLIANT. I think Season 3 suffers because it completely lost track of what the show needs to be - like a mix between 24 and just running the country. Issues should be covered like Star Trek - in the context of a plot. Instead season 3 just made issues the premise of the show and had next to no plot. And they erased so many characters and introduced too many new ones (who seemed to be based on issues - I really don't like Dante for instance). The election itself was interesting. But they forgot to get the "conspiracy" plot into it a lot of the time. And it would be better to still continue with some type of overall conspiracy that links back to the very first episode of Season 1. I think they lacked a decent writer who cared about PLOT above all else for the third season. As far as Hannah goes, I was aghast at what they did. If anything she should go out in a blaze of glory, but frankly I don't see how you can have Designated Survivor without both Kirkman and Hannah. It's like having 24 without Jack Bauer, or Jason Bourne without Jason Bourne. The only way I can think if I was doing the show to have Season 4 would be to bring back characters from Season 2, and have Hannah Wells be ALIVE in a ruse just like how she was "fired" by Kirkman in the previous season.
Picture this - Hannah Wells comes across a link between the "threat", and Moss' campaign AND the original conspiracy of Lloyd from Season 1. There is also still a mole in government. She agrees with Kirkman, and her family, to go undercover - deep cover, by faking her death. Chuck and Mike are undercover (Mike having been assigned to protect Kirkman's brother for some reason) and when Hannah is lying immobilised by the gas in that brewery, Mike and Chuck run in, inject her with the antidote and carry her to safety. She reappears in Season 4 tracking down the mole.
Given the utterly stupid thing Emily did, and despite the fact she's hot, I guess we'll have to make her the mole given that video that Hannah found. Something like that. I'd completely remove some of the characters they brought in for Season 3. There was far too much focusing on their personal lives which is irrelevant. Whilst I like Seth as a character - completely pointless to spend time on a sperm child. What the hell is the relevance of that to an action conspiracy series?!

@@truckfish16 Part of the problem was the lack of continuity. Half the characters are gone without any explanation. And they waste too much time on the personal lives of random characters without getting on with a plot.
