My 8 go to 1. Lagavulin 16 (I know it's not bourbon, but it's sooooo good) 2. Journeyman Silver Cross 3. Eagle Rare 4. Russell's 10 5. Angel's Envy 6. Old Forester 1897 (what a great year 😉) 7. Horse Soldie small batch 8. Journeyman corsets whips and whiskey
A little something for everyone; EH Taylor SiB SP, Wild turkey Rare Breed, Maker's Mark 46, Old Forester 1920, Elijah Craig BP A123, Old Forester 1910, Redbreast 12
Eagle Rare is my favorite. $35.99 retail at one grocery store. They had 2 on the shelves so I purchased both. Liquor stores, IF they have it, are marked up from $69.99 to $99.99
Those are good ones. The Benchmark Full Proof is very underrated. Haven’t had the Legent yet, but what I heard was just ok. But everyone has their own thoughts and palates. Thanks for the comment and watching, Rob. Cheers! 🥃🥃
very nice list. I would have switched RR10 with RR SiB and would add Maker's Mark Cask Strength. The JTS BiB is available in PA as well as a special order. I am a long long long time Eagle Rare fan boy back when it sat on grocery store shelves and selling in the teens. Have 400+ bottles but always have a back up case of Eagle Rare. Every 13th Colony bottle is worth buying in my experience and also always have Clyde May's 6 year Reserve and Still Austin CS and Musician, Michter's Rye & Joseph Magnus as well as the Redbreast lineup
That Still Austin Cask strength is great. The Rye is so good and I agree on the 13th colony! The good ol’ days of Eagle Rare! Agree on the RR SiB, but those prices seemingly have jumped $20-30 in the last 2-3 years. I remember my first one was like $60 and now I can’t find any for under $85. Cheers Pizza Warlord! Thanks for watching. Love your list as well. 🥃🥃
Haven’t had any Dragons Milk yet but my buddy in Coloma, MI keeps raving about it and have heard great things. Thanks for the comment I will need to check it out, cheers Meb!
I see a Buckners Old Route 8 on your self. How do you like it. I just picked one up. I have bottle h31. Have not cracked mine open yet. I'll let you know how mine is when I open her up.
Thanks for watching and commenting! I enjoy the Old Route 8 that I have from Augusta. It has a lot of banana bread notes to me. Almost similar to a jack barrel proof. Cheers! 🥃
I only got started 10 months ago and this is a great list to go with. I'm yet to try the JTSBROWN. I'm in Georgia and have not seen it on the shelves. My cheap bottle is Evan Williams BiB. I just got a bottle in Florida for 15.99. Here, around me, I find it for 21.99. Another cheap bottle is Benchmark Fullproof and Benchmark Bonded. I love those pours. Eagle Rare is 39.99 to 59.99 at different places around me. I find myself also getting backups for Larceny Barrel Proof, Jack Daniel Barrel proof Rye and Bourbon, 1792 Fullproof, Blue Note Uncut unfiltered, and Stagg when I find it. Great video. 🎉🎉
Can’t go wrong with Evan Williams Bottled in Bond either! That’s a good cheap but delicious pour. Benchmark Full proof is a good one as well. Not bad for Eagle rate at $40. 1792 Full Proof is great and I am a big fan of Blue Note as well. Thanks for watching and commenting, @cruiserdawg! Cheers!
Ahh bummer. Just keep searching. Make relationships with the liquor store employees and just mention to them what you’re looking for. At least at some stores that seem to have good pricing
I wonder, if I drop a oak spiral into my Eagle Rare for a few months, will it taste like Stagg or EH Taylor?? The same mashbill means age is what makes the difference, maybe?
Not necessarily, it all depends on where I’m the Rickhouse the barrel is and what the weather is like. Proof increases due to the evaporation of the water out of the barrel while the alcohol stays in. Certain types of weather and Rickhouse positioning will determine that. When a whiskey is 90-100 proof that means that distilled water has been added by the distiller to get the liquid to a certain proof point. In this case, all bottles of Eagle Rare are 90 proof because the people at Buffalo Trace when they batch the bourbon (take a bunch of barrels and combine them) then they add the water to get it to 45% ABV/90 proof.
That’s a good one as well. And very affordable, at $45 for the shelfer. Haven’t had a Bardstown Single Barrel pick yet, but from the things I have heard from people who have, it’s good stuff. I really like what bardstown is putting out there. Cheers, thanks for watching and commenting. 🥃🥃
One of my favorite parts of bourbon/whiskey is that everyone’s palates are different. Something that some people like others don’t, and Vice versa. Best part is just enjoying a dram with your friends. Cheers Maple Blues, thanks for watching!
Noooo, That sucks! Where in Texas are you located? I will say, this year’s batches were harder for me to find, but have seen plenty in the last few years in multiple areas. Appreciate you watching, @degmar. Cheers!

A little something for everyone; EH Taylor SiB SP, Wild turkey Rare Breed, Maker's Mark 46, Old Forester 1920, Elijah Craig BP A123, Old Forester 1910, Redbreast 12
That OF 1920 is soooo good. Need to grab another. Great list there! Thanks for watching and commenting, @sharinschmeederjohnson4648
Eagle Rare is my favorite. $35.99 retail at one grocery store. They had 2 on the shelves so I purchased both. Liquor stores, IF they have it, are marked up from $69.99 to $99.99
Great grabs at a grocery store especially those prices. But no thanks to the 70-100 woof
Just got that old forester store pick yesterday in Massachusetts.79.99
Nice find! Great price. Cheers Rich! Thanks for watching and commenting! 🥃🥃
Knob Creek 9 got me started.
That’s a good one too! Cheers Dave!
And friend during a deployment and the FOMO of Blanton’s got me interested in bourbon. Stayed for the EW 1783, Early Time BiB, ECBPs and Wheel Horse!
Those are some good ones! Thanks for commenting and watching! Cheers!
Top 8: Larceny, Early Times BiB, Russell's Reserve, Legent, Jefferson's, Benchmark Full Proof, Old Forester Single Barrel blue label, Horse Soldier
Those are good ones. The Benchmark Full Proof is very underrated. Haven’t had the Legent yet, but what I heard was just ok. But everyone has their own thoughts and palates. Thanks for the comment and watching, Rob. Cheers! 🥃🥃
Eagle Rare also got me into it years ago! Cheers man! 🥃
Such a good one! cheers Ty! 🥃🥃

@@whiskey_weather O wow $85. The RR SiB is still $60 here Cheers
The one that got me started was a E.H. Taylor straight rye.
Nice! Haven’t been able to find that one ever before. Have heard good things! Cheers Kyle.
@BNBbourbon well if your ever in illinois, I'll give you a pour. I've got 2 bottles
Very nice video. We miss you here in Huntsville. Keep up the good work. I hit the subscribe button today.
Thank you! Appreciate the kind words! Cheers! 🥃🥃
JTS $17.99 Central IL Binny's store. Im a fan
Me too! Cheers! Thanks for watching! 🥃
The next bottle of Eagle Rare I see at a store will be the very first. Same with OWA
That sucks. Took me a long time to find OWA, but have been lucky the last two years to get a few. Eagle rare has gotten increasingly more difficult
I found a bottle of Blanton's for the first time ever the other day.....for $229 LOL. I did not buy it.@@whiskey_weather
I was lucky to find a Weller Antique 107 in Columbus in April. $49.99 I see the price in Ohio has now gone up to around $54
Good grab. I haven’t seen 107 in OH in about 2 months but when I did it was still $49.99. Thanks for watching!
My first favorite was Weller SR
Nice!
New Holland, dragons, milk, barrel, aged
Haven’t had any Dragons Milk yet but my buddy in Coloma, MI keeps raving about it and have heard great things. Thanks for the comment I will need to check it out, cheers Meb!
My 8
Weller12
KC 12
Early Times BIB
Thirteenth Colony Bourbon
Cooper Cask
JD Single Barrel
4🌹’s Single Barrel
That 13th Colony Double Oaked I hear is AMAZING. Have enjoyed the regular bourbon and rye. Cheers Ray! Good list
Eagle Rare was my first as well!
Great minds! Cheers, Adam. Thanks for watching! 🥃🥃
Four Roses SIB got me into bourbon.
That’s a good one! Very affordable too! Cheers Gary!
Great video. Very informative!
Thanks for the kind words and for watching, Nate! Cheers! 🥃

My gateway bourbon was OF 1910.
That’s a good one too. I love me some Old Fo 1910 & also the 1920. Cheers man, thanks for watching!
I want to try eagle rare so bad but i can only find it for 100.
That’s unfortunate, definitely way over priced. Where are you at?
@@whiskey_weather Kansas City area.

I wonder, if I drop a oak spiral into my Eagle Rare for a few months, will it taste like Stagg or EH Taylor?? The same mashbill means age is what makes the difference, maybe?
Age, placement in the Rickhouse, and proof.
Eagle Rare = 90 proof
EH Taylor = 100 proof
Stagg = 130+ proof
@@whiskey_weather does age increase proof unless you proof it down?

any good reason why you don’t include Rare breed????? curious
I enjoy it. Just hasn’t been as easy to find for me in previous years as the RR10 was. But Rare Breed is great!
Where are you at, Idaho?😂
Hahaha Northern Kentucky
Never got the hype for ER. There is flavor in the beginning and completely falls off in the finish. Not even worth MSRP for me

"Always have a backup". Lol - since I've never seen an ECBP on a shelf anywhere at any price (Texas).
Noooo, That sucks! Where in Texas are you located? I will say, this year’s batches were harder for me to find, but have seen plenty in the last few years in multiple areas. Appreciate you watching, @degmar. Cheers!
Getting Weller 107 for under $50. You are just trying to torture people putting that in a video.
Not trying to torture people! Just saying that’s what I find it for, but being near Ohio really helps.

107 goes for $199 near me. Obviously I've never owend one, or even tried one.

Weller red label is around $200 by me. Most stores are running secondary prices now a days.
